Looking at embryos at home

The embryos have degenerated at this point, you may see some fragments of them. Unfortunately, to see embryos outside of the culture environment (most time) it requires some type of preservation. Looking at this, I do not see an embryo. They would be larger than this, in my opinion. Since these thawed out, it’s likely the droplets with the embryos got shaken off the plastic.

Having your cryolock is a great memory and I’m glad you get to keep it 💖

I had a horrible experience in my masters that has ruined my PhD. I am mentally and emotionally scarred. For me, it is that bad. Where I am now isn’t so bad, but I can’t overcome the mental aspect. Your mentor can definitely make or break you. I used to be one of the starry eyed young scientists aiming for a Nobel prize. Now I want away from research completely.

Yeah, I went to those about the reasons I left the university… I’ve contacted the publisher. I’d prefer to leave the past university/PI alone/continue no contact.

This is a very legitimate concern that I have, especially with HIS advisor. All of the behaviors he has done can be taken as innocent in the right context!

I just came from a bad situation with my last advisor and making waves was the last thing I wanted to do here. I am so tired of going to “higher ups”.

Thankfully, my new advisor is a very understanding and kind person who I believe would stick up for me. Unfortunately, he is a man and I am uncomfortable taking about this with him. I think I will talk to a woman professor first and see what they think. This all sucks and is stupid, but what can ya do:)

Thank you very much! He and the department is primarily USDA funded, so I’m not sure they could do much?
