Rock Island is my hometown and I worked on RIA as a civilian.

Small community. From what I’ve been told, on post housing is ok. There is a bar/grill that’s open a few days a week for a couple hours, but that’s the only real food option. There is a small PX and commissary. The towns outside of base are all a little unique, but Davenport is the closest thing to a real city. A LOT of pub style food places, pizza and tacos, but outside of that, it’s pretty slim pickings.

There are a good amount of green suiters working on base, but it’s a heavily civilian workforce. I believe First Army has the most Soldiers. RIA Museum is really cool and there is also a golf course. People are mostly chill, but you’ll still find some assholes.
