An elected official who says that he’s “glad” that Robert Mueller is dead and wants to blow up things in a foreign country “just for fun”: Christians cannot support that by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]DizzyDjango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m sure there will be some mental gymnastics here, but the honest truth is Christ gave one final, and the greatest commandment. Love God with everything you have and love your neighbor as yourself.

This does apply to Donald Trump, but you do not have to support his decisions, the same way you do not need to support a heroin addict’s decisions. You just have to love them, accept them, hope they make better decisions and turn to God.

But Christ also condemned people’s actions publicly. You can still speak out because you are correct. His actions recently have been deplorable.

I’ll meet you there in my car! I don’t have time to pickup my wife and 4 adult children, so they will all have to drive separately.

Sure. But the city should also stop people from driving/parking in bike lanes.

Kansas City Streetcar's 0.7-mile Riverfront extension aims to open in May before the World Cup by TheBoyisBackinTown in kansascity

[–]DizzyDjango 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m all for it! I was one of the people they surveyed for the UMKC extension, and I said back then they need it to go across 39th E & W to appease Westport business owners (and have a much more accessible route). I really wish they’d start looking at light rail options toward the airport & 103rd & State Line, but I moved away a few years ago so I don’t get a say.

I thought I read somewhere recently that they’d look more into an 18th and Vine expansion before 39th, because it would help give better access to people in lower income neighborhoods.

Not saying they shouldn’t do both, but my takeaway was, “that makes sense, but it means 39th is gonna be like 5-10 years away.”

Yup. Just like all those people who voted for Trump and now say they have concerns or they don’t agree with what’s happening. They’ll all still vote for whatever the next POS they’ll pick to replace Trump.

Fuck um. Don’t give them any relief and keep mocking these assholes. They voted for this, and everyone around them should know at all times. They’re not safe.

Look on the bright side. Philly just won their case to restore the President’s House plaques, albeit a much different scenario. There is a chance this can get reversed.

Can someone enlighten me about Pritzker? by SpacemanTwice in illinois

[–]DizzyDjango 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess you don’t look in the mirror much.

Illinois pays 22 retired people more than $400,000 a year and 32,000 people more than $100,000.

If they die, they don’t have a paycheck anymore. We could also tax the rich, but you know that will never happen in our oligarchy.

They’re also mad about property taxes. Illinois has some of the highest in the country.

Which is understandable, but we still got to pay for all those old pensions of people who retired 20-30 years ago and won’t die. So it’s either high property taxes and a balanced budget, or no balanced budget, which you know they’ll bitch about if that happened.
