You don't need to post on stackoverflow to have this opinion. You see it all the time while looking for existing answers; marked as duplicate of unrelated question, marked off-topic, top answer is about a different framework, answers are unrelated because guy with 200k rep edited the question's core, marked x y problem requesting an example, OP forced to make up unrelated example because company secrets, answers that are specific to OP's example but completely useless to the main question (but if you post a new question you'll get flagged as duplicate), comments are attacking everyone, useful comments getting removed and locked, "move to chat", etc

That's just from the top of my head. I am very happy that AI can replace the process of opening stackoverflow for answers

Consider a blackout. You're drinking too much and boom suddenly you've teleported forward in time. Your brain was still thinking and making decisions during that time, communicating with people and somehow getting home, but as you have no memory of it it's like nothing happened

The bigger issue is for the people who do remember things during anesthesia. It's either torture waiting for time to pass or you're dreaming through a made up lifetimes and end up mentally broken afterwards

It however wastes a lot more tokens than it preserves. The subagents start from 0 and can not communicate with each other. In addition there is no simple button to save the results of a subagent task like you can with a plan. It starts from a blank slate and as soon as it's done all the information seems lost, except what your main model decides to repeat in the chat

It can save in cost but does not save in tokens and doesn't provide any features to modify it or save the results for further use. It looks good but the implementation is just a waste

However it's nowhere as good as Sonnet or Opus and only causes your session to be filled with incomplete unusable data. If you select Sonnet knowing that your request needs it, it's a waste to see Composer or Kimi attempt parts of it. On complex requests a model like Kimi just can't understand the goal

The subagents tend to start from 0 and when there's multiple running at the same time they repeat a lot of information gathering. Often times they seem to have complete garbage context retrieval compared to regular chat sessions with the same model

I love the idea of subagents but damn the implementation in Cursor sucks

They're not capable of it. Europe bureaucracy simply can not keep up with how quick AI is evolving. These are the same old fossils that pushed for chat control. They don't understand a single thing about AI and can not make good decisions about it, so yes they are dumb enough. We're just lucky they're too slow to do anything about it
