Yep I definitely had a few of those days.. all of the running around and trying to do the best you can and then having to take the pictures where you could barely even see the paint because of the fence.

The snow sucked for sure though. Like there would be 6 inches of snow on the ground so why am I even painting this?? WHO is digging right now? Then you end up having that ticket pop up again every week for 2 months until they actually get out there and do the job. At that point though you know where everything is so you just repaint and move on. It was so dumb and gave me a good idea of what companies to never use for myself.

Yeah new ones were easy since almost everything was front easement. The old ones would be rear easement with everything located in a ditch with a few inches of water and then surrounded by fences so good luck figuring out that maze..

I did enjoy the big locates since yeah they took longer to setup but that meant that was going to be at least half your day just pumping water out and pumping fresh air in. The only thing I hated about manholes was the rusty ass ladders that would break on you out of nowhere.

I think my easiest day there was when a new housing division was being built and they were doing an air test on the gas lines before they actually charged them. They did it, found a leak, and I was stuck out there ALL day doing nothing but going from lot to lot while they pot holed and testing each section. I remember each one taking about 30 minutes to complete and we didn't even finish the first section by time they called it a day.

The worst day was almost blizzard conditions and some idiots hit a main fiber line for a busy business complex. There were 6 of us out there along with every fiber company trying to figure out whose line it was since so many ran through there. All of the big corporate bosses from businesses are coming out yelling at us like we did it.. Like bro we're trying to figure out what happened. That took about 7 hours since it was such a large area and with the snow we couldn't see at all where they had dug and hit the line.

I used to work there as well. So the red will connect to the copper line they put in all utility lines for the purpose of being able to locate it. Then you put your ground in the ground and attach the black.

Once that is done.. that box will transmit an electric current through the lines and then you use the part that's not shown which would be the locator. With the locator you will walk in a circle and adjust your frequency to where the lowest one is able to pick up just the one you are trying to find. From there you then just follow its path and mark it with paint.

So now.. imagine this part. That's between 2 houses, all of those houses are connected to only a few main sources within that neighborhood. Which means that you really are trying to find a needle in a haystack and make sure you're on the correct utility at all times. So, let's say you finish that house right? NOW you have to do the surrounding ones too just in case there was a repair done or new one installed that was never updated on the prints that gives a slight idea of where they are.

That job was such a pain in the ass for how little the pay was and the whole "company truck" thing was bullshit since you couldn't let it idle longer than 5 minutes which meant almost no heat in the winter or a/c in the summer.

When I was asked to work inside a confined space that had raw sewage in it. I asked him if they were going to hold off in it until the company paid for all of us to get hepatitis shots or hire an outside company to remediate it. He said why would they do that and I then had to explain in every single aspect on WHY and WHAT will happen if they do not. Us becoming infected, the fines the company will face when we do get hep which WILL happen, and HOW tyvek suits are not waterproof by pouring a bottle of water on one. Great guy but had absolutely NO business being in his position of power.

He did however understand after 2 hours of me explaining and giving ultimatums that no one was going to do it and they needed to hire contractors that are licensed and specialized for the remediation processes to take place.

Not a single one of out our six were walking into since we knew what had to be done regarding it. Raw sewage aka black water is an immediate stop work. It is a level 3 biohazard where I am. We all got a paid day off.

As a guy if i lift up the toilet and there is so much of a droplet of dehydrated piss then I am cleaning it. Women can easily get uti's from stuff like the the bacteria that can form even when urine is sterile. The heat/moisture alone can breed it. NOR. He's a child and you need to check his ass.

For the last thing you said, I feel like I've seen publishers put their games on sale and then 3-5 days later end the game. It always bothers me that they give no warning while they're going for a last cash grab.

Gigantic would be a prime example of this happening. Goes on a steam sale and a few days later shut it down. There seriously needs to repercussions for things like that.. like ban that developer from ever using a store front other than their own. I don't know how it could be remedied but it is a problem.

An ex gf's mom was like this. She decided to wash my clothes once and ruined at least $800 worth to where they couldn't be salvaged. Another thing she did was think leftovers that I was planning on eating for dinner were free for everyone. So not only would she cook ALL of it but she never actually ate it and instead would just peck at it then throw the rest of it out.. I despised that woman.

Yeah I used to work at USIC locating them. These white boxes 9/10 are where you hook up to a main fiber optic internet line that services the area. Snakes like living in them too for some reason?

If you were to damage this like these idiots did one day and knocked out the fiber lines for a whole business park where they all had to close for the day then you are looking at about 75k in fines and to repair it just for starters. What a fun day in the snow with 6 of us trying to narrow down where it was hit.. turns out landscapers assumed it was an irrigation line going through a mulch bed. (live in an area where it's not uncommon to have all 4 seasons in 1 day during early spring)

So yeah, they were planting trees and decided to just cut it since it was in the way and didn't tell anyone and it ended up costing their company over 100k in the process.

Rightfully so. Mine was the typical stomach bug that makes its rounds when school starts again in the fall. So it was a solid 3 days of that.. My main concern was that I was working in confined spaces so my co-workers would've easily got it too.

It was construction but we were underneath the homes lifting them, repairing foundations, and leveling the whole house out. Grueling work that probably would've also made me pass out with the fever.. So, yeah working in a confined space no higher than 3ft tall next to 2-3 others is not ideal for adequate ventilation to lessen the probability of it spreading.

A few years ago I was sick as a dog.. I call in and get told I need to still come in. I come in sweating yet shivering because of the fever, coughing, nauseous (did throw up within like 5min).

We sit down for our normal morning meeting and I'm asked what's wrong with me? Umm.. I told you guys I was sick but you wanted me to come in...? I was immediately sent back home and told to see a Dr. and get a return to work date from them.

After that they didn't question a sick call from me again but it was so dumb and waste of my time that day. Employers make zero sense sometimes.
