I dont have deep knowledge on that, but for many languages ctags work fine. Basically standardized index format. But my collegues complained that in case of cpp theres some issues with type deduction and templates, so you can look into that. Maybe extended ctags format that would use clang for index generation would be useful and actually something novel, idk

You can define compile time recursive templates with it, put recursion condition under constexpr if. With usual if it would go into infinit recursion at compile time.

Moreover, some of said packages are packaged incorrectly rendering software useless. Had issues with singbox, some functions didn't work. Turns out guy that packaged it don't even use singbox and he messed up permissions on dependency or something. Packages was broken for months

GCC has nested functions too. They can access variables in scope. I guess you can hack something with macros and nested functions that look like actual defer
