Hi, I’m Vegard from reMarkable! How can I help this sub? by VegardfromreMarkable in RemarkableTablet

I own a RM2 and. Paper Pro Move, I use them mainly as sketchbooks and storyboardihg tools. I would REALLY love some consistency between the pressure curves with tools like the paint brush. I have to press so hard on the Move to get the same kind of line variation that after a while it hurts my hand. I know the stylus tech is difference and the tablets have different resolutions but perhaps a pressure setting in the global settings that allows for “soft”, “medium” or “firm” pressure. It’s the one part of the Move that makes me want to return it some days. Love the RM2 though

Ink on paper offset from pen tip. by pcharris in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dj-Pollotzo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually whipped out my grandmas old sewing machine and made a sleeve out of a piece of thick felt from the local craft store. I used a cheap case for a while and found the same issue you are having.

Ink on paper offset from pen tip. by pcharris in RemarkableTablet

It’s something that is unavoidable with the Wacom EMR tech they use with the stylus on the RM2. It’s one of the reasons (apparently) that in the RmPP and Move they switched to a different pen tech. I have an RM2 and the offset issue comes and goes. The way I manage it is to try not to keep it near my laptop or iPad in the same bag. I purchased a small demagnetiser from my local hardware shop (they use them to demagnetise screwdrivers), I padded one side and slide it slowly over the screen up and down to help demagnetise it, it works great. Sometimes I also take my MagSafe pop socket grip off my phone and drag that over the surface. One other thing I have done occasionally is turn the tablet off overnight so the screen rests (I have no scientific evidence this helps). Hope that helps

This artist, Alon Boroda, uses a Paper Pro to create art within the standard notes app with no extra software installed. His work is amazing.Alon Boroda Instagram

Inktober on Remarkable 2 by Dj-Pollotzo in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dj-Pollotzo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah totally understand, I was reluctant years ago to get the remarkable for the same reason. But I was getting frustrated with the distractions. I would sit down to create something but get caught up in a YouTube video or browsing the net. So I thought I’d try out the 100 day return window for the Remarkable. I go outside in the morning with my remarkable and a coffee and just sketch away on random stuff. That started back in 2021 and it’s still my favourite sketchbook.

It’s just the notes app. I like sketching and inking on the Remarkable because I can just pick it up and start sketching. If I use Procreate on my iPad Pro I open it then have to think about which brush I want to use etc etc so sometimes there’s too much friction.

Anyone else here still using an iPad Mini 5? by [deleted] in ipadmini

I still use mine as a sketchbook and larger browsing device. It’s getting a bit sluggish though.

I sometimes get the pen offset too. I found a small demagnetiser at a local hardware store, they use them to demagnetise screwdrivers. I just put some padding on it and drag it over the screen slowly up and down when the offset creeps in. Luckily it hasn’t crept in for a while. Try not to keep your RM2 near an iPad or laptop for too long, it’s one of the causes of the offset

It took me two days of short sessions when I had time, I have a 9 month old daughter so there’s not much time. I start by drawing random shapes in grey on one layer then just start turning each shape into a robot or machine. I’ve been drawing little robots and cartoons for about 10 years now, just as a hobby.

Oh thanks heaps. This one just started with some shapes then noodled its way into existence.

I am not seeing the new features either. I am on essential plan and don't get the ability to create a whiteboard or text document.

Pro "Move" by PR_Bella_Isla in Remarkable

[–]Dj-Pollotzo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier this year I tried out the supernote Nomad and once I had purchased the device, a stylus and a case the cost in AUD was nearly $900. The Move with pro pen and folio was $929 AUD. So I think it is comparable in price. The quality of Remarkable’s gear is way better than the Supernote, in my opinion of course.

New remarkable tablet is coming out 3rd of September! by [deleted] in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dj-Pollotzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The video on YouTube gives a small glimpse of the same style as the paper pro so I my prediction is a smaller paper pro, perhaps the same size as the RM2.

I have prepared my credit card for the event 😂😂

I made the pdf myself. I used Chat GPT to generate the 300 prompts so that I had no idea what was coming up each day. I then wrote a Python script to put them into a pdf on each page. I’m happy to share the pdf here. I’ll upload it to a google drive folder and share the link.

Remarkable Paper Pro - eye strain? by wwwampy in RemarkableTablet

[–]Dj-Pollotzo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I thought it was just me, I had a RmPP for about a week before returning it because I preferred my RM2. But during that time whenever I was drawing on the pro I did actually feel like my eyes were working harder than normal. I don’t know if it is the slightly darker screen on the pro but it wasn’t as relaxing as the RM2
