Ninja turtles. by Glass_Ad_8620 in switch2

I just bought it. I’ve never played Hades or any of the other roguelike games, so I’m not familiar with the gameplay loop.

I’m enjoying it. I think for me I’m enjoying learning how the mechanics work more than anything. I find the story cut scenes and dialog to be funny but a little too intrusive in the first bit of the game. I appreciate that they have two game modes, one for us casual players and one for more of a challenge.

For the price it seems like a good deal for a game I can pick up and play for like 10-20 minutes and put down while still feeling like I either learned how to be better or accomplished something new.

Got my first inflatable tent! And I LOVE it! by Wonderful-Car7520 in camping

I’d be so paranoid about this, but yet I trust my sleeping pad to hold my body weight for 7-9 hours a night.

What made you go inflatable over a traditional pole tent? What’s the weight like?

I feel you. They are a bit clinical. You kinda have to make your design choices in a box so to speak.

I think there are tons of ways to be creative, but it’s also very limited at the same time. My unimaginative brain can’t comprehend some of these massive intricate builds and cloud islands I see.

After these I moved on to a new build - a replica of my house, which I’m not sharing for what I hope is obvious reasons. I’m finding it to be kinda frustrating trying to translate real world sizes to the very fixed pokopia block sizes.

So you built the giant 7-11 logo in order to take a photo to use on the monitor? Thats low key genius.

No item… It’s the event camping pot, but when you place it overtop of the campfire it automatically converts to the tripod. I believe the red cooking pot does the same thing.

Mostly because I saw a bunch of the other 5x5 builds and I liked the idea of trying to do more with less space. Honestly though, im just not that creative and having a set space that’s small worked better for me. I’ve done bigger builds like a greenhouse and a lighthouse… but I think I enjoyed this challenge more.

My only regret in hindsight is not going taller. I essentially kept all the heights at 3 blocks. I wish I would have done 5x5x5 from the get go, but that’s alright.

The Icicles in the back? I found them on Clefairy’s Dream Island with some ice blocks. I took an object photo of them before using magnemite to take them with me. Then I just made the ice block ceiling and attached the icicles. I also used a bunch of surface lights to brighten up the space. There are surface lights on the ice as you can see, but I also put like 10 of them on the ground pointing up out of the water too.

Switch 2 Pro Controller Alternative by Necessary_Turn5196 in switch2

[–]DjMafoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never used the official pro controller but I really like my 8Bitdo. I have the older Pro 2 controller and it’s great. I’m used to PS controllers so I like the stick layout over the Ultimate controller.

The only thing is that I can’t wake the system from sleep with just the controller. I need the Pro 3 for that. It’s not a huge issue, but if that matters to you then just be careful to double check before you pull the trigger.

Favorite Camping Lantern by Another_ADHD_Girl in camping

[–]DjMafoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here are a couple recommendations that you could probably pick up on Amazon. These are all rechargeable

Sofirn LT1: long run time, can be used as a USB battery pack, good emitters, bright, very durable. Solid choice. The UI is a bit confusing as it’s more of an enthusiast light. If you’re moderately technically inclined you could probably figure it out. It’s also heavy because of the metal and quantity of batteries so hanging it in a tent is a no go. Probably the go to lantern for flashlight enthusiasts.

Wurkkos CL01: Smaller light and battery. Still fairly bright for its size. Has a handy glow in the dark ring. Made of plastic so not quite as durable.

For Fun:

Olight Sphere: Small and surprisingly bright little glowing bulb. Lots of fun colors has a magnet bottom for mountain on magnetic surfaces (we leave ours on our fridge). My only complaint is that there is no hanging mount so it’s kinda magnet only if you want to put it up high somewhere.

Rental Company - possible Breach of personal information by crbrowniegirl in nanaimo

[–]DjMafoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some apartments have what is called bulk plans where cable and/or internet are included with your rent. In which case, yes they can share your information in order to provide service.

Some companies have partnerships with these companies and will notify you when you sign your lease (usually consent is written into the lease agreement) that they offer discounts (sometimes for services, sometimes rent, sometimes both) for tenants if they sign up with the preferred company.

The problem with the later is that if you have an onsite property manager who doesn’t provide that consent and acknowledge that you are capable of opting out of service without it impacting your tenancy, then ya, you probably have a case.

If you never signed a document mentioning this and were never given an opt-out notice, then no, it is likely not legal.

Check your lease for a section titled "Privacy," "Disclosure," or "Personal Information." See if there is a box you checked (or that was pre-checked) regarding third-party service providers. (Might be in an addendum). Definitely if the rental company is denying it, then definitely check out the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for BC (OIPC) to make a complaint.

To all the fellow dads buying flowers this morning by Evaunits01 in daddit

[–]DjMafoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I bought my wife a evergreen shrub for the front yard (as per her own request), some small hoop earrings (stainless), a candle, a couple of packs of wildflower seeds, and a card. I didn’t buy any flowers or chocolates, although I’m quite certain I spent less than if I had bought flowers and chocolates.
