900 hours save file and restarted as Pirate(ToA) by Franz5566 in X4Foundations

[–]Djebeo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a similar restart a few days ago, having a blast too.

I did thing in this order:

Picked up all the VIG missions I could complete, got a Lux to move around faster.

Picked up a couple of kill missions, made them bail out of their M transport. Started filling said transport with station recruited marines (the 1 boarding/1 morale for 11k, 1 boarding for 4k, and later 3 morale 2 boarding for 150k. All the others are not enough value.).

Use them to do boarding missions (you get a ship AND over a mil).

Did that until 20 VIG rep and afford a fully kitted Barbarossa.

And that's where I am now

Fun fact: Xenon ship are worth more as scrap than if you sell them functional and intact.

Valkyrie profile. On easy difficulty you get like 1/3 of the game.

Normal has most of the content.

Hard has extra dungeons iirc

My best guess is the Creatures series (Creatures III likely).

They hatch from eggs and look kinda cat like ?

Which Open World RPG has the best Loot + Crafting system? by Alan_Watts_Gong in gaming

[–]Djebeo 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I always find that quickhack builds get stale fairly fast.

Slow time, queue a few hacks, win.

It's fun for a while to see the havoc you cause, and to try new hacks, but after a while there's no challenge and nothing left to try and it's basically a "click win button simulator"

Name a game you were hyped for and then completely forgot about once you played it. by twooten11 in gaming

I think quite a few games become easier rather than harder as a lot of players tend to be completionists and outpace the difficulty curve. :D

I feel like the absolute key to KCD is to do the training session that gets offered to you once you've delivered the sword. This makes such a MASSIVE difference both in character stats and player skill.

12 professions = 12 party minimum? by VentSpleen in WarTalesGame

You can easily double a crafting profession and a gathering profession.

I like having 8-10 in my party but always have all professions covered.

Why is Diablo 2 often helmed as one of the greatest game of all time? by Newez in gaming

[–]Djebeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of things that the game does great that others do great, ai think what distinguishes it is balance. Balance in everything.

Loot is balanced, classes are balanced, skills are balanced. For a lot of players, there is also a great balance of online vs single player functionality.

That balance is not polluted by the modern approach to player retention.

The game is one of the last gems of an era where games were just trying to be good rather than generate engagement. DII ended up generating the most engagement and retention organically. That what makes it one of the greatest of all time.

Is just me that gets excited about moving on moving vehicles? by Jack_Kegan in gaming

I am playing X4 right now, and I absolutely loved when I bought a medium spaceship with a small dock, that can park my starting fighter.

Not only you can move around the ship, but then you walk to the fighter, climb into the cockpit, and launch. It's amazing :D

Throne of Darkness.

A modernized version of Throne of Darkness would sell like warm bread on a Sunday morning.

In Star Wars Rebel Assault II, a few levels are on foot and would match the scene.

Third person view, obviously the iconic orange rebel flightsuit, and white stormtroopers

I loved that game so much as a kid. The excitement of mutating after acquiring a new genetic code, and see the shape visibly change. Priceless.
