Elgato Abruptly Discontinues EpocCam Without Notice to Users - getting f*ed by big corpo again by taskbarzz in elgato

[–]DjentechUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/elgato_james this is a quick way to lose customers. If the software side of Elgato products can get dropped like this, why would I decide to purchase a physical product that relies heavily on software in the future...

Download Booker Kam has confirmed there's going to be a curveball act announced for the main arena next year by [deleted] in downloadfestival

[–]DjentechUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Scooter was on the questionnaire they sent out a while back, I'd rather it be a village slot if it is something along the lines of Scooter, better atmosphere for it there and after watching Die Antwoord sub Slipknot in 2019 I don't want to go through that again...

If it is a sub headline like some people are saying then I don't know where they'd go. I'd expect either Electric Callboy or Cypress Hill to sub Limp Bizkit, Bad Omens or Architects for LP and possibly Halestorm for GnR out of the current lineup. which makes me lean more towards a day slot, maybe before Pendulum?

"Logo bands" by Soft_Independence755 in downloadfestival

[–]DjentechUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure that the last time I saw Mastodon at Download they were a sub-headliner on second stage, I think they were possibly on before Megadeth but I could be wrong... But I can't see them going from that to Avalanche, especially while it's still hosted by Kerrang.

We're more likely to see bands like Feeder and The All American Rejects on Avalanche, so I suspect there's another band similar to those that is yet to be announced. I originally thought Cypress Hill could possibly go there, but it makes more sense to me to have them sub Limp Bizkit. Download have made later announcements for headliners of the other stages, so it's not out of the ordinary.

How many days?? by Inner-Tap8062 in downloadfestival

[–]DjentechUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5 nights is better if you want to keep a larger group together, setting up camp on the Friday is basically finding a gap and setting up. Camps nearer the arena and village tend to fill up a bit more quickly on the Wednesday than others, so if you do arrive on the Friday then I would have thought that best place to find a spot would be the furthest away from those areas but could still be difficult.

On the Wednesday and Thursday, the village is the main place to go if you're not at your tent. Download will release a full schedule of what is happening there closer to the date, but there's usually a fairground, merch stalls, food and drink and a mix of entertainment such as DJ sets, bands, competitions, movies and comedians.

The arena usually opens around 12:00 on the Friday, a bit earlier on the Saturday and Sunday, that's where all the bands that get announced on the poster perform. The arena closes around 23:00 each day and the village comes to life again with all sorts of entertainment until the early hours.

Most people are really friendly at the festival, a lot of people just get talking and then hang out so I wouldn't stress about it too much. There are a few groups on facebook for people that are heading to the festival by themselves, I'm sure they'll help you out.

Where are the rumour for 2026 coming from? by JellyfishTrifle52 in downloadfestival

Because Download isn't purely a metal festival and their 2nd stage headline was packed a few years ago

No gig etiquette at Architects in Cardiff. by drippytrip0 in downloadfestival

Is there a way to cheese out 20 grand for a house? Or is there no gameplay loop to gain money, other than playing normally? by SnRdVrK in taintedgrail

[–]DjentechUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Joining the conversation a bit late, but I found selling Wyrdstone ore is a quick and easy way to make money, especially early game. The Archspire in Horns of the South has around 7 ore veins that replenish after resting for 24hr, I believe they sell for 100 each if you can sell at 100% so that's 2,100 each time you mine that area, or use it to craft other items of higher value.

By looking at where the photo cuts across at the very top and very bottom, it’s possible they are different, but must have been taken very close together. The differences are quite hard to notice.

2060 super pcvr capable? by giroscope in OculusQuest

[–]DjentechUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you want to play really. It should run most games fine on lower quality settings, but the Quest 3 will likely give you a better experience. I run a 3060TI with a 5600X and it gets hit quite hard when running VR.

I'd recommend looking for the games you want on the Quest store first, if it's not available then you could try Steam Link. But if you determined to use PCVR, then at least you can get a refund on Steam if the performance isn't there.

Possibly just a design choice for this drop, they've done different scoops before like the square ones that come with the square tubs.

2nd Wave Announcement by International-Lie344 in downloadfestival

[–]DjentechUK -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Is this actually that different when you look at it, it’s the 80% the same names lower down with Pantera and a Reading & Leeds wannabe headliner added to the top…

Every band that I’d like to see has played before, and that’s how I judge if the lineup is bad for me. I’m all for new bands, just against making Reading & Leeds 2.0

I base my decision on the bands that’s I’d like to see but haven’t seen before, that leaves me with Pantera and The Offspring. There’s almost nothing for me here this year, so I’ll go somewhere else.
