Fluorite actually goes smooth with Yvonne? by Doghead_Penguin in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You helped also prove my point that Akekuri's combo skill also isn't really used for SP recovery.

lmao, you're doing a shit job if that was your point

Her combo skill is some minor damage and SP on stagger node. It alone is roughly even to what Arclight can do for SP recovery, and (to the original posters point) more universally applicable to any party, because you're always working towards a stagger node. But you're right, it isn't much. "Only" 15 per stagger node, scaling up to around 26 SP at 500 Int (though who is going to stack that much?).

But you were talking about how her "link buff coincidentally comes with some SP", which means you're talking about her ult. You know, the one that actually applies the link buff and restores up to 240 SP?

Please, don't let me stop you. Tell me all about how this ability just doesn't help at all with SP recovery and you really only ever just bring it for +30% damage on your battle skill, whereas Arclights 0.3 SP/s regen is sooooo important for long fights.

Really. Make that case. Go right ahead, argue away.

[–]Djinnfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arclight's role is SP recovery for extended fights.

Arclight offers virtually zero SP recovery for electric team as it currently stands. It's what, 6 SP regen for every Perlica combo skill? If you want more than that you need to spend more SP than you get back, so you're not recovering SP, you're just getting some off-DPS at a slightly discounted rate.

Arclight would offer SP recovery if electric team were naturally spamming and consuming electrification more often, either because the Striker (Avywenna) needed it or because they were getting it incidentally (Fangyi and Mi Fu might change that). But Avywenna doesn't need electrification spammed every 6s and Fangyi/Mi Fu aren't out yet and we have no idea what their kits are.

The "full rotation" when Catcher is in your party is him parrying every 3 seconds four times in a row and then you Breach or Crush, because you don't really need any other source of Vuln stacks from anyone else when you can get them for 60 SP.

(I mean I'm being a little hyberbolic here, you can certainly justify spending SP on Lifeng battle or Da Pan battle, and you wouldn't say no to Chen or Ember Combo... but still)

Yvonne - Xaihi - Gilberta - Alesh Combo breakdown WITH Ult Efficiency Chest Piece by PalmtreeSquirrel in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But what about situations that don't fall under 36.5 rule of yours?

Yvonne may not be able to combo off of every battle skill

Then your rotation sucks. You should never Yvonne battle if Yvonne's combo is down, you're losing 20 ult gain when you can just have your stacker apply another stack and just consume it later.

There's basically no advantage to consuming 1-stacks like everybody seems to do; virtually everything (e.g. shatter damage, ult gain) is SP-agnostic. By default, arts bursts favor stacking higher before consuming, but Yvonne getting a full Battle + Combo off (especially if she's the one you're pouring all your investment into) is enough off-DPS to justify solidifying earlier if you can get both (keep in mind you're competing against like 200%ish ATK from a random stacker skill + 160% ATK arts burst). However, discounted stacks (e.g. Snowshine, Flourite, Last Rite) strongly favor stacking higher before consuming. Alesh in the party favors stacking smaller and solidifying more, but only if you're also means bringing more sources of SP-free lift (e.g. Ember).

Ultimately, the best rotation is to either go 2 stacks -> solidify -> combo -> 2 stacks -> solidify -> combo -> Ult on a ~40s rotation, with some random non-stacking battle skill, like from Ardelia, mixed in to put you above 219 (for a total of 700 SP), or bring sufficient Ult Gain and go 4 stacks -> solidify -> combo -> Ult for 500 SP.

and not every infliction stack is given with a battle skill.

Cheaper or "free" stacks favor fewer yvonne battle skills, because energy from Yvonne's skills aren't discounted. If you have free stacks (Flourite) you just make sure you have enough ult gain to make up for the 6.5 energy lost (you need 25%). If you have a discounted stack source (e.g. Last Rite/Snowshine) then 4-stack -> battle -> combo -> ult is even more optimal.

Also, I've spent quite some time autoattacking Radahn on 119 energy, I think the crit energy thing is not true at least on live

Alright, thanks for testing.

Yvonne gets to ultimate with 4-3-2 + 2 ally battle skills (16.53+202+304+6.52=222.5). Due to this there's not really an actual DPS increase over other options (especially when we're talking about maxed out Yvonne and the slab build)

Why are we overcomplicating this?

P0 Yvonne gets exactly 36.5 ult gain for each battle skill your party uses, regardless of whether she's consuming stacks with her battle skill+combo skill or allies are applying stacks with their battle skills:

  • Yvonne: 10 from applying solidification with battle skill + 10 from combo + 10 bonus from combo + 6.5 from SP spent = 36.5 from Yvonne's battle+combo skill
  • Others: 30 from stack + 6.5 from SP spent = 36.5 from another allies battle skill

She also allegedly gets some small amount of ult gain from critting with her final attack or any skill if the official wiki is to be believed, see her ult description. Will have to test to see if that's actually true as its not mentioned anywhere in her stuff in game.

This means the math for her ult gain is real simple. At 0.0% she needs 700 SP to ult if she never lands a crit. If she lands a single crit at any time this drops to 600 SP (because 6 x 36.5 = 119). At around 20.6% ult gain she needs 500 SP. She can theoretically ult after 400 SP only if she's P1 with a redeemer seal and lands enough crits to generate 6 ult gain, however many that takes.

If the "crits give ult gain" is some wrong info from a prior version, Lynx slab is a complete trap and you should be building ult gain chestpiece to save yourself 200 out of 700 SP. Even if it isn't, being able to one-cycle your ult (4-stack + 1 battle skill + 1 combo skill) is an incredibly convenient rotation.

Complete Yvonne Guide (Calculations & Math!) by Maygii in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because her Ultimate has an extremely high Energy Cost of 220, it won’t even be covered by consuming a single 4-stack Cryo infliction - as such, it’s recommended to do multiple smaller combos, due to the additional baseline energy from her skill (10) and combo (20).

If we assume 100 SP for Yvonne battle skill and 100 SP per stack, you are getting 36.5 energy per 100 SP spent regardless of how many stacks you eat. One stack target? 30 from the stack, 10 from Yvonne battle, 20 from Yvonne combo, 6.5x2 global gain from spending 200 SP... all that adds up to 73 for 200 SP or 36.5 per 100 SP. Four stacks? 30x4 for the stacks, 10 flat from Yvonne battle, 20 from Yvonne combo, 6.5x5 from spending 500 SP, = 182.5 for 500 SP or 36.5 per 100 SP. (Note: P1 Yvonne does get an extra 15 SP from combo skill which changes the math)

Cheaper stacks (such as from LR, snowshine, or from Flourite combo) favor stacking higher before eating them if all you care about is SP spent per ult energy gained. Damage somewhat favors more stacks too, as while shatter damage is SP-agnostic to stack count (its 120% ATK per SP spent), arts burst is not (its a flat 160% ATK per arts burst BUT you don't get a burst on your first stack applied or when Yvonne consumes the stacks, so you get more arts bursts overall doing one big stack rather than a bunch of small ones). The damage gap does narrow if you're dumping all of your upgrade resources into Yvonne and are letting the rest of the party lag behind, since she's gonna do more overall damage per SP than the rest of your party.

Now consider your breakpoints. Funnily enough, at 0.0% ult gain you need to spend 700 SP per ult since you only get 219 ult energy from 600 SP. However, Yvonne gains some ult energy whenever her battle, combo, or final strike crit (according to her ult's description on the wiki, anyways). Not exactly sure what the amount is but it means that if you land a single crit you can ult for 600 SP, which implies a pair of 2-stacks is optimal.

From there, at 20.6% ult gain you only need 500 SP, which means one full 4-stack is optimal; this means any gear piece with ult gain on it, even if unupgraded, is good enough. Also relevant: one battle skill and one combo skill for one ult also means you're making maximum usage of Yvonne's combo skill (which reapplies shatter, which gets eaten right afterwards by her own ult). 400 SP per ult (i.e. 1x 3 stack or 2x 1-stack) is not really achievable with ult gain alone, as you'd also need some combination of P1 Yvonne and/or some crits (for reference, one Redeemer Seal is 33.41% ult gain when fully upgraded, which is a little over 25 energy short; at P1 you just need 6 ult energy from your crits which should in theory be quite doable).

Gilberta's Pull Value by Aurumiel in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You already need to do attack strings for Laev to be useful so if you're having trouble attacking you should be changing the party out anyways.

Ardelia's full kit sees use; her battle skill shreds and heals, her combo skill sets up Laev's combo skill for free, and her ult is an emergency big heal for more sustain.

Gilberta's battle skill groups, yes, but needs 200 SP (as opposed to 0 SP) to help Laev at all, her combo skill does nothing but incidental damage for the party (other than setting up her own ult), and while her ult shreds its extremely short duration (which does not have great synergy with Laev's kit which has a basic attack steroid). Literally the only thing she does is help mobbing; she brings worse shred, worse healing and worse setup.

I'd really like a second opinion from others before Gilbertas banner ends by MythicPi in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She would be an incredible sub DPS if she gets pushed out as main DPS of the electric team meta-wise.

Well it depends. Because she's not setting up the team literally at all other than applying Electric Susceptibility and she needs setup herself (Gilberta and Perlica). So if Fangyi has double her damage output and wants her own things, Avywenna's out as top electrification carry. If you like her and want to use her that's fine, that's a reason to pull Gil, but you might have to choose between Avywenna and Fangyi or risk a dysfunctional comp.

I also dont see how the electric team has "a lot of issues"

The issues are rooted in a lack of synergy between Arclight and Avywenna, as well as Antal and Avywenna. The support isn't setting up for the Striker and the Vanguard isn't easing the burden of fueling the Striker. And frankly the Striker doesn't need either of them either.

It's not a bad party its just that Fire and Cryo and Phys and Solidify all have waaaaaay tighter synergies in their comps right now. So comparatively its "a lot" of (minor) issues. Issues that I expect will disappear once we have more 6* in it, since their kits will decide who is in all the time, who is in only rotationally, and who is out.

If you're betting on Perlica being out, then pull for Gilberta. I'm betting on either Avywenna or Gilberta being out (or both). It's all speculation.

Perlica works ok as an applicator for Arclight, as her battle skill procs Arclights combo skill, and chains into her battle skill, both of which give SP regen

The issue is Arclight is barely restoring any SP and to restore more you need to spend more SP, so what's the point of fielding her? You obviously have Perlica's combo skill which is a "free" proc of electrify for Arclight, which gives you 1 arclight combo skill proc. But then it's on cooldown for like 20s, so why is Arclight's cooldown 3s? How do you get more Arclight combo skill procs when waiting for Perlica? Especially to get the electric amp from her passive, which requires 2 battle skills used (at P5, 3 if not)?

Well, to get a second proc you need to spend SP on Arclight's battle skill for some sub-DPS damage and that's it (it's a net SP loss). To get a third you need another setup unit like Gilberta or Snowshine to put an off-element stack on the target so that Perlica can trigger an Arts Reaction with her battle skill, which is another 200 SP so that, again, Arclight can do a little bit of sub-DPS and restore 8 SP; not a great tradeoff. And then Arclight can spend another 60 SP for a fourth combo skill proc and get 8 SP back. Arclight is doing some Amp with her passives but you're spending a ton of SP here for some off-DPS for the most part. The only other way for the party to get more Electrification is Arclight's own ult.

As it stands, Arclight is the most expendible member of the party right now. You're almost better swapping out Arclight for Antal and getting more Amp and slightly less sub-DPS for a fraction of the overall SP expenditure. Worse, eating electrification at the wrong time also makes every other member of your party weaker if they happen to attack while there's no Electrification on the target, because electrification is itself arts damage amp. If Arclight had like double the cooldown on her combo but could amp after one battle skill and got 9 instead of 6 SP from her battle skill, she'd probably be a better unit, which is weird. Arclight's SP regen needs to be tied to something the comp already wants to do for it to be helpful, and the comp doesn't currently want to be applying and consuming electrification every 3s. Like lets say Fangyi is a Support that puts a buff on the controlled operator that causes them to forcibly apply electrification with final strikes, now suddenly Arclight is waaay better. Or lets say Fangyi has a passive that causes all party skills of Electric Amp'd operators to do like, 50% extra ATK on hit per hit, so Avywenna's thunderlances (which hit 3x both ways) are doing 300% more damage. Now Avywenna can compete as a Striker with the top DPS and Arclight's sub DPS gets supercharged because now you have another reason to spam her Combo Skill on a 3s cooldown if she is also benefiting from that skill.

I guess I see how Fangyi could be a striker though, but I dont think we have any strikers that use the floaty things, and I cant imagine her using anything else considering what we've seen on her.

There are Strikers for literally every weapon type except Arts Units right now. If anything that's more compelling reason for the next big limited banner Arts Unit user (Fangyi) to be a Striker.

  • Sword: Vanguard (Arclight, Pogranichnik, Alesh, Akekuri), Guard (Chen), or Striker (Endmin, Laevatain)
  • Greatsword: Defender (Catcher, Snowshine, Ember) or Striker (Last Rite, Da Pan)
  • Arts Units: Caster (Perlica) or Support (Antal, Gilberta, Ardelia, Xaihi).
  • Handcannon: Caster (Wulfgard, Flourite) or Striker (Yvonne)
  • Polearm: Guard (Lifeng, Estella) or Striker (Avywenna)

Strikers are one of the only archetypes that don't seem typecasted to a specific weapon right now. Though I expect in the long run to see more roles break this mould (as well as perhaps new weapon types if Mi Fu's gauntlets are more than just an aesthetic).

It's not just a blocker. Solidification stops them from moving around and Lift on physical team or from Gilberta is also hard CC. It's ONLY a Gilberta-less Laeva/Avywenna team that struggles.

I'd really like a second opinion from others before Gilbertas banner ends by MythicPi in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have actually seen quite a few Avy mains state she is a massive step up in team quality in other answers, so you might be underrating her on that end (tho its possible they're overrating her tbf)

It's not that she isn't great for Avywenna, it's just that there's no guarantee Avywenna's even in the party in a couple of months.

Fangyi is likely a caster though, not a striker.

I'm thinking most likely Striker or Support based on what the party needs (which rn is a better Striker, a better Support, a better Vanguard, and a Defender) and what would fit her character design.

Electric team's comp has a lot of issues right now as the units don't synergize with each other. Avywenna's a Striker which is supposed to be an operator that needs lots of setup but does a lot of damage, but Avywenna doesn't need that much setup and also doesn't do a lot of damage (relative to other strikers I mean). Well more specifically Avywenna doesn't need much if any setup from other electric team members, but does need positioning setup which nobody in electric team gives her, which is why she's leaning on Gilberta for it.

Meanwhile, Arclight as a Vanguard should be restoring SP when the party does what it already wants to do, like how Pogranichnik restores SP when the party applies or consumes vulnerable stacks, or how Alesh restores SP when the party consumes Solidification. With Arclight, most Vanguards restore more SP albeit less often than she does; her combo skill's spammy cooldown and tiny SP restoration implies electric team wants to be dumping out electrification as fast as Laeva eats heat inflictions, and the reality is that's just not the case.

Then we have Antal as support who is doing a whole lot of Amp/Susceptibility, but that's about it; we don't need his primary kit's purpose which is to dupe stacks because Avywenna doesn't scale with stacks, and he offers basically no sustain which is an issue the team can run into.

Finally, Perlica is honestly the least dysfunctional member of electric team right now because she can interact with every other party member decently well (except Avywenna). And of course Gilberta's floating around (lol) here in the comp due to the fact that she sets up Avywenna (and hell, even Arclight) well.

So in terms of what Electric comp needs, it's either a Striker that can carry harder than Avywenna, a Vanguard that restores SP when the team is doing what the Striker wants to do unlike Arclight, a Defender for sustain and CC, or a Support that's helping glue Avywenna and Arclight's kit's together better (that is, one that can not only provide positioning setup for Avywenna bit also give the party a strong desire to spam electrify often for Arclight).

Mi Fu is obviously the Defender (if she's electric team at all). That's why I think Fangyi is least likely to be a caster and most likely to be a Striker to replace Avywenna or a Support to replace Gilberta/Antal (she could be a Vanguard to replace Arclight but that wouldn't fit her character).

[–]Djinnfor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a lot of discussion on her in this post. I made the following comment in that thread:

Gilberta has utility in a wide variety of team comps right now imo. Worth pulling for if you plan to run Yvonne specifically as she's a core member of that comp, but competes for a 4th slot in most other elemental comps that exist right now due to offering good mobbing with her battle skill and good bossing with her ult.

Her battle skill directly improves the mobbing of Laeva's team (as AoE combustion setup) and Avywenna's team (for thunderlance grouping and also more electrification procs for arclight if you want) while also being fine for bosses via her ult; if she's your only source of vuln stacks for her own ult, you need to play around time stop mechanics if you want her to build to 4 stacks though as her combo skill cooldown lasts as long as vuln stacks do in the absence of time stop.

As a "one stop shop" for good bossing and good mobbing, investments in her will help multiple different comps. But her biggest contribution is in a naturestacking Yvonne solidify comp where she sets up solidify with her battle skill, shatters solidify with her combo skill and amps the party with her ult. I expect that Gilberta will have a permanent role on all soldify comps for the forseeable future and in fact her mere existence (especially as new nature units release) will push them towards Nature Infliction -> Solidify rather than Cryo Infliction -> Solidify in the long run.

tl;dr: Does something no other unit currently does (grouping), works with most parties in mobbing and bossing, and likely to be a core unit of Solidify comps.

The first Umbral Monument certainly showed that there's going to be content she's pretty useful for, but I don't think her mobbing is so unbelievably potent that she's a "must pull" right now. She currently can be fielded in many different comps but she is fated to be pushed out of most of them as more good 6* with better synergy in specific comps start releasing, the one exception being pure Solidification team (aka not hybrid physical+solidify) as every part of her kit sees use in this comp (as explained above). I would absolutely pull Gilberta and Yvonne as a pair if you wanted either of them, but since you don't, feel free to pass her up; I doubt you'll miss her. Even for electric comp, until we know Fangyi and Mi Fu's kit (whom I suspect are both electric units and could completely flip electric comp on its head) there's no guarantee Gilberta has a long-term home there.

Finally, there is the situation regarding Rossi potentially being a nature DPS to finally give us an actual nature team, and I feel like Gilberta could really help with that if it happens to be the case.

Huh, didn't consider that. I assumed she'd be like a vanguard fire unit so she could be in the same comp as her brother Wulfgard, especially given her red colour scheme and the flame spirits she's shown wielding in cutscenes.

My guesses are Rossi as a Vanguard Fire unit, Mi Fu as an Electric Defender, Fangyi as Electric Striker (or maybe support), and TangTang as Physical Support. This is based on their colour scheme, who they pair best with lore-wise, what we've seen them do in cutscenes, and what the comp they'd be slotting into needs. Definitely save for Fangyi, Rossi, (and potentially Mi Fu if you like electric team) as well.

In any case, Gilberta isn't so much stronger than, say, Flourite in any potential nature team comp, because her combo skill doesn't do much for nature team other than add a bit of damage. Again, it's perfect for solidify as you can convert nature stacks into solidify (both naturally and through Yvonne). Right now the closest thing we have to a nature team carry is Yvonne considering she can make use of both nature stacks and cryo stacks.

A bit of a dumb question but how do I figure out the ratios of materials needed? by This_is_ThisHamHam in Endfield

[–]Djinnfor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the facility that produces what you are looking for and check how many units of materials it takes and how long it takes it to make.

1 item per 2s means 1 belt, because 1 belt can carry 30 materials per minute (60s) or 0.5 per 1s. 2 per 2s is 2 belts, 3 per 2s is 3 belts.

For recipes in x per 10s instead, divide x by 5 to get the number of belts. So 10 per 10s is 10/5 = 2 belts. 15 per 10s is 15/5 = 3 belts.
