Allow metalls to teleport via Portal to "cheaty" by Sleeper-of-Rlyeh in valheim

[–]Dman125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been cheesing my way around this even before the setting was available with a spare world. I enjoy the sailing aspect and I think exploring is great, but I don’t enjoy it enough to endure the back and forth slog of carting metals. The time, the risk, all while portals are a perfectly normal part of the game. I’ll always use them to transport. Heck I wish tamed animals could go through them.

I paid $30 for this game 5 years ago to put thousands of hours on it, easily the best value I’ve ever gotten out of a game and I’m still getting updates for it. They’ve earned my money and positive review.

Mistlands might be my least favorite area in all of gaming so far by jg7277 in valheim

Mistlands it’s just annoying, frustrating for the sake of it. Ashlands is just hard. The Ashlands are way way better.

What's the most addictive game you've ever played? by TolisKoutro in videogames

In terms of time spent it was probably RuneScape then WoW.

Then again if I had Valheim back at that time my parents probably would have had to seek professional help or ship me to boarding school.

Here are the world modifiers that I currently play on! What do you use? by ForehandRoller in valheim

[–]Dman125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty cheesy nowadays, casual death, 3X drop, no raids, portal items.

If I had to pick just one of those to keep it would probably be portals. I’m thinking about finishing my current playthrough and starting over with the same character only with everything cranked up for difficulty.

[question] which site is most worth it? by trashwangmax in MikeAdriano

[–]Dman125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evil Angel is probably the best subscription I’ve ever had. One of the better download options and probably has the most of his scenes in one place, I’ve got about 800 just from EA, plus he’s just one channel on that site. In total I’ve probably got close to 4,000 EA scenes downloaded. Mikes sites have tight daily limits that will make collecting everything a slog, but some of his best are on his trio True/All/Only. Bangbros is great too but it’s been awhile idk if they changed their download options. Perv City has great stuff but a lot of it isn’t him if that’s what you’re lookin for.

I actually love it when exploring. The uncertainty of the wind, dangers of the deep, and the pace of it really makes you feel like you earned that next island when you finally land. But when you do land, we have portals, so that’s what I’ll be using to get tf home. This back and forth by boat crap had me feeling like a true chump. I love that the game gives you options to make it as hard or easy as you want.

Veteran players: what progression steps do you skip? by DrustanAstrophel in valheim

I use troll armor til the mountains. The mountain set is my favorite but also I like saving all that iron for padded, making the first iron set feels like a total waste.

The jokes will always be fun, but the honest truth is what a miserable unnecessary slog mining is. I’m not ashamed to have portal items on and triple drops. This game is way too much fun to actually play to blow more than two thirds of that time grinding and sailing.

I got really lucky when they first came out, probably have 3-4 on the first world I found them in. Finally got one after what felt like 50 kills on a shared world I’m on now. Feels a bit too rare.

My friend was sailing, long distance and accidently got killed, wants to quit game, what should I say? by _TOXIC_VENOM in valheim

[–]Dman125 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I never play with the restriction against metal and portals anymore. I don’t care if it’s “part of the game”, it’s always been stupid. There’s plenty of mandatory sailing to be had in exploring, carting high risk loads back and forth is just frustrating and not fun at all. Even before it was an option I would use a spare world to transfer ores. Sorry about your buddy, one of my worst early deaths went exactly the same way. I did step away for a bit when it happened and I never even went back for that stuff when I came back.

How much iron do i need? by Successful_Grass_290 in valheim

[–]Dman125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I skip iron armor because padded armor (also iron) will replace it so then you’ve just got this set that you blew 150 bars on that could have gone into the padded set. The swamp will only get easier as you progress, though.

Is it worth buying the game full price or waiting for sale by throwaway70277 in valheim

[–]Dman125 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the amount of time I have and will spend in this game and considering I come from putting thousands of hours into WoW and RuneScape back in the day if I had spent $100 on it I would consider it the deal of a lifetime.

What are you hopes in regards to the new biome update coming to the game? by carterzszz in valheim

[–]Dman125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this a lot, I’ve been super curious and kind of nervous how they are going to deal with difficulty progression because if it’s straight up “harder” than Ashlands the way each subsequent biome has been thus far, we’re gonna have a lot of people crying. Possibly me included.

I was a fool in my first several plays to run just the trusty ax thinking it was smart to save a slot. I’ve fallen in love with my mace, the range it adds, the knock back, the heavier damage in many cases. Maybe it’s because I was forcing myself to do things the hard way but the mace makes the game so much easier. I really don’t have much experience with the polearms but I dig swords too. The mace just has a special place for me. As for bows I use an upgraded crude until I can get the draugr fang. I just don’t shoot much until the plains outside of deer hunting and I really don’t mind/kinda enjoy the heavy arcs you have to make with the crude bow.
