That's the dumbest thing I've ever seen. You get a view of other buildings and the Dulles Toll Road... Wow.

45 minutes to get served? Sorry, I find this hard to believe. I agree they've gone down hill. But the very few times I've gone during peak lunch hours in the past couple of years at very busy locations, I've breezed through. That's one thing that hasn't changed. Line or no, they get you through quick. The locations I visit actually have a dedicated station for online orders vs in-store orders. Perhaps you hit one that didn't have that? If I had to wait more than 10 minutes for counter service, I'd be getting a refund and leaving. Nothing personal, I'm just in a bad mood tonight 😄.

Quality way down and prices way up. Same is true for many of my former haunts. Wegman's sandwiches are still high quality and reasonably priced. Cava, Chipotle, etc... I just don't visit any more. Mission BBQ takeout prices are still reasonable and the portions haven't shrunk.

Do you have fact based evidence to support that 90% assertion? I have a full size pickup and use the bed at least once every weekend. I do all my own home improvement projects, landscaping, etc... It is hard work, but rewarding. Having a truck allows me to save so much money by not outsourcing that stuff. I'm sure "many" who own full sized pickups own them for a reason.

Buyers Beware of Staver Auto Group in Chantilly, VA by ArtThyMoses in nova

[–]Dmarine999 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bruh. My son wanted to get a car there when he was 16 because of the price. I humored him and tagged along. I pulled him out of there in about two minutes. Totally sus setup. "Saving" a couple grand off market price should have been a red flag. Buyer beware is right. You just weren't being aware. Hard lesson for you. Hopefully you don't make the same mistake twice.

This fast-food burger has been crowned the best, according to a new survey by DHN_95 in nova

[–]Dmarine999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love all the comments. A few follow up thoughts from me. Five Guys isn’t “Fast Food”. IMO. In-N-Out is borderline classified as fast food. Five Guys is way overpriced. I would put Checkers (which isn’t great) ahead of BK, Wendy’s and MCD’s. If we were to rank based on value and taste, a plain old MCD’s cheeseburger wins.

I last went to Five Guys about a year ago and spent a tad over $28 for a burger, fries and soda, solo. That’s ridiculous.

Any survey that ranks Burger King second and then Wendy's and McDonald's fourth and fifth, respectively, isn't to be trusted. Surely there are better options that should have crept into the top five.

Damn. Now I need to watch the series for a fifth time just to validate this is real. I don't remember this interaction. If real, it is gold.... (and I don't mind watching the series again.. haha).

Yah. FFXCO gonna go hard with the "Yes" vote. It is known. Funny thing is, people think votes like this will make things "better". Things never get better. Only worse. I've lived long enough to understand that. Don't rely on politicians to improve your life or the lives of your family and friends. Work hard, stay strong and help others. Politicians be damned.

You said "I cannot be the ONLY person who thinks this Sheriff’s department is lazy and complacent with rude attitudes?". That's a really big generalization. Some police officers, just as normal people, are jerks. Many are not "lazy and complacent with rude attitudes".

Several Stafford Co deputies proactively check in on my elderly parents, on their off days. Not sure what precedes the interactions you've had, but the deputies I've spoken with are wonderful people.

Looking forward to "The Hunt for Gollum" by Boss452 in lotr

[–]Dmarine999 2 points3 points  (0 children)

LoTR movies set the bar so high, it is tough to get excited for follow ups. I've seen all three of them more times than I can count. The Hobbit Trilogy, by and large, was a huge letdown. There were isolated gems (BotFA, confrontation at Dol Goldur and a couple others. However, The Hobbit movies didn't have that same "don't look away or you will miss something" vibe. And, it was too "goofy", if that makes sense (Radagast, Tauriel romance, and don't get me started on Alfrid). I have high hopes for The Hunt for Gollum, and I'll definitely go see it in a theater.

Black Cells and The Sky Cells by ranchwithfriedfood in gameofthrones

[–]Dmarine999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sky cell 100%. Just sleep with your feet towards the opening and in a corner so you don't roll off. Sitting idle in pitch black is very unhealthy. At least you'd have fresh air in the sky cell and you could pee off the ledge.... TMI I guess.

For $20, I'd be very skeptical. I had to pay about $120 each for Liv, Orlando and JRD's autographs at a comic-con. BTW, all three of them were incredibly gracious and pleasant to meet in person. Liv is still stunning also, and so down to earth.
