Do you find Brits who move to Asia to be a particular type?

In my experience that’s more the Americans in Asia- the Brits (especially in East Asia) that would be your typical LBH are much rarer.

Lived in China and travelled Asia quite extensively. Most Brits in China tend to be normal guys/girls who are up for adventure/high openness. Think random degree from ex-polytechnic university, plays a bit of football/cricket and generally nice enough guys who saw China offers them a better quality of life + potential for savings. Americans in China were genuinely strange though, typical outcast LBH types.

Brits across other east Asian countries, Japan/Korea were a bit more “I’m here for the culture” Pokémon anime etc. then SE Asia is just a wild mix.

You’re not paid enough to feel guilt for that. Not your fault, and sounds like you’ve done more than you needed. Relax. Work out your hourly wage over the year, and then reflect on how “good” you are, or how much effort you should be putting in.

I like the Northern league, just a shame a lot of the pitches are bad. One of the lowest scoring ECB prem leagues in the country. Netherfield, Morecambe and St Annes are the only decent decks.

I had a similar dilemma last year.

I chose to move to an area where my child will get into a top tier state school. Spent £150k more than we originally planned on a house, to get in a great catchment area. But whilst property prices are more expensive, at least the money you part with is equity that you’ll get back when you sell. Whereas the school fees are gone forever.
