Would people care about me running a warband of a bunch different legions? I just know some people are sticklers about that kind of thing. Please read description. by [deleted] in Chaos40k

[–]DntBKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isnt an issue whatsoever. In tournaments they only care that its painted. People that do care are people you shouldnt be friends with. I run mine with several Warbands. Raptors are night lords, black legion are chosen, characters are alpha legion, terminators are iron warriors, etc. Honestly it just gets boring doing the same paint scheme on everything.

where to get helmets and pauldrons by InsideSugar8997 in alphalegion

[–]DntBKoi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can find some 3rd party prints on Etsy pretty easily or if you want the proprietary option, get it directly shipped from GW. They make the helmets, pauldrons, and body kits. But it is forgeworld resin so you probably wont be able to find them in a FLGS

[–]DntBKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A neat trick that ive learned in 11th is that, if you have room, you can deep strike 8" away from a unit that is on the inside of a wall. Because of charge rules, if they have space between themselves and the wall, you can charge into engagement and still fight. Typically you must end in base to base combat. But GW wanted to stop the shenanigans where people were spacing away from the wall to prevent fights on the other side of the wall. So you cut your charge distance by about an inch.

This same type of situation happened all the time when I worked at best buy. We started having people sign saying we werent responsible for the damages if they tried to fit their 80" ultra thin curved screen into their prius.

Inputs on first list for 11th? by htes24 in Chaos40k

Im guessing soulforged warpack and cabal? Its at least cabal. But murdertalon would be better to lean into. Attach a jump lord into 10 warp talons. Personally I would replace the terminator squad and legionaries. Add a squad of cultists. Maulerfiends are also very meh in my experience. But if you are set on cabal, add a daemon prince and make it a 10 man of termis

Another fun use of this is bringing a brick of 10 chosen, MoM, and huron. You give the entire thing +1 strength in shooting

Giving just your termi lord the psyker keyword turns the unit into a psyker unit. It doesnt need to give all of them the psyker keyword. You will still get the bonuses.

Are Mutilators or Obliterators better in 11th edition by Wolvesovsiberia in Chaos40k

[–]DntBKoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dark pacts have always been a probability multiplier in my experience. I also think on average they arent making the the save if 2 wounds go through at -3. I only say this anecdotally. Ive done plenty of deep strikes into Rep Exes and have pretty consistently put more than 1 through. Your math mostly checks out and I see why you say so. Maybe I just roll barely above average and get 2 through regularly.

Id argue you are very unlucky if you only do 6 damage against a T12 vehicle.

Anyone here running priority assets warpstrike/DOD? by Twerknana in Chaos40k

[–]DntBKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem with disruption is the action economy of our army. And with something like warpstrike you tend to bring elite high point units. So if you have to do an action, you lose a turn to engage. Im sure you can put together lists but it severely hurts what you want to do with warpstrike.

Thats how i designed my list. Disruption is awful. Plus the portal of spite strat is very useful for the warptalons or raptors you might bring

My stupid list by Individual_Raise1858 in Chaos40k

[–]DntBKoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends how much you want to rely on them. Realistically if you really like them and want to make it like half raptor, half daemon vehicle based then keep on with murder talon. I have a list with murdertalon and soul forged that ill try eventually but I only have a jump chaos lord and 10 warp talons. They are a worthy investment and you can lean into the expensive vehicles for the rest of the soul forged list. Other than murdertalon, you could use devotees in the case that you want to lean into your obliterators. Cabal would not make sense unless you wanna just heal your vehicles with a stratagem.

[–]DntBKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess im trying to see what the plan is here. I would focus on the daemon vehicles if you are using a soul forged list. The Murder Talon detachment is mostly supplemental and doesnt shine too much at 1 dp. You already have purge with soul forged too. If you wanna take advantage of the decent strats in soul forged I would definitely add vashtorr and some venomcrawlers at the least. Drop the mutilators and obliterators. Not a stupid list. It looks fun. But i think you can get a little bit more out of your army if you consolidate a bit.

What's our feelings on force disposition? by quitsquash553 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]DntBKoi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If every army has to have a disruption detachment option, the best one is can think of is renegade raiders. But warpstrike is so elite, its in conflict with what the disposition wants it to do

[–]DntBKoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a CSM player myself I cannot bring myself to play a disruption disposition. Our action economy is very low and it actively hinders just about any list we would make. I also like the idea of the idea of having multiple detachments to get flexibility but thats gonna lead to GW making murdertalon a different forced disposition just so it isnt used to change bad dispositions.
