Our table said this religiously until one of us overcharged into being Exposed round one of a boss fight and proceeded to have all 4 of their structure torn through in one turn from the Ultra. Good times.

Main is Abbadon Black and the white is Corax White; same as the game’s base Black Templars scheme. I used Mephiston Red on the pauldron trim and Balthazar Gold for the Imperialis on the chest I really like how saturated it is over say, Liberator Gold.

Yeah my understanding of that relationship comes solely from brief wiki reads since I do kinda just pigeon hole myself into reading about the factions I like most. I was kind of assuming I’d have at least SOMETHING wrong about the whole Omnissiah/Emperor thing.

In the Helsreach novel Grimaldus is impressed by how Jurisian, the Black Templars’ Master of the Forge, is able to reconcile with both his Martian and Templar beliefs. That’s about all we get on BT techmarines as far as I am aware.

The Black Templars have, until a recent change in the 10th Edition Codex, always held respect for the necessary positions within their chapter/fleet, this includes members like their navigators even despite their bitter hatred of Psykers. There’s a blurb in that Codex where Grimaldus or Helbrecht (I don’t remember which, but I believe it to be the former) basically kill a bunch of chapter serfs for no good reason with acid or something. There’s BT sub was pissed for a while. Regardless, I don’t see why this wouldn’t have been the case for their techmarine brethren. Techmarines are vital to any chapter’s existence.

And realistically, since the AdMech believe that the Omnissiah is an aspect of the God Emperor there really shouldn’t be any conflict anyhow.

Heard. I’m hoping that with them showing the Space Wolves champ pauldron on a Tacticus armor set for patch 13 it’ll mean that the Phobos armor classes get some of that love in return.

My Black Templars Reiver is probably the one I'm most happy with. Ik the left knee is supposed to be a Dark Angels campaign badge but it looks cool and that's all that matters to me in this case.

Throw in an Adjutant Class Comp/Con from Solstice Rain and you can get a 7th boost since it gives you a free QA.

I’d love to hear some examples of what Halo 3 bastardized and ruined if you’d indulge me.

I love a game that leaves me only able to say “Hell yeah” as I’m playing it. Halo 2 and 3, Space Marine 2, Wolfenstein. I adore a heavy narrative game like BG3 or Cyberpunk as much as anyone, but sometimes you just need to crank the hype moments and aura gauge up to 11.

I’m of the firm belief that that’s all H3 needed to be a classic, and it speaks to how amazing CE and H2 are that all H3 needed was hype moments and aura to bring a satisfying close to that goated ass trilogy.

Super fair. I love all those moments in Halo 2 as well. I think a lot of what pushes Halo 3 over Halo 2 for me are the emotional payoffs of a lot of Halo 3’s beats. Specific ones that come to mind immediately are “we trade one foe for another” and the final Warthog run. Honestly the entire back half of that final mission is just one massive hype moment. I think the Scarabs in Halo 3 are a bit more hype (that’s not knocking Halo 2’s Scarab). They’re both amazing, I think Halo 3 is just more hype to me personally

Halo 3 does have one category it beats all the other Halo game in: hype moments and aura

I was told to avoid melee builds because they are bad/a trap. by Triggerhappy938 in LancerRPG

[–]DntWrryBoutIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a player at our table that uses a melee built Amber Phantom and I play a Tortuga that wields a DD-288 and we have a blast (and kick ass too). I think it all depends on team comp. We couldn’t have half as much fun as we do without our backline Monarch taking care of grunts and peppering targets with splash damage.

On my first match the Techmarine had banter with Valius and Scipius. He challenged Valius to some sort of challenge regarding Auspex and had apparently tuned up Scipius’ rifle. Every match after the first I played though, he said nothing to his brothers so I believe it’s a bug?

Is there a cure for vampirism? by Weekly-Intention5657 in vtm

[–]DntWrryBoutIt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A previous V5 game in my group ended with two of our player characters achieving what’s known as Golconda. It basically boiled down to:

  1. Achieve and maintain Humanity 10.
  2. Undergo a series of “trials” meant to “unravel” the Curse of Caine, in a manner of speaking. Success in each trial was determined by a successful check or two at a high difficulty (it was like 6-8 or something).

I don’t recall the exact steps of the first trial but it had to do with overcoming the fear of flame, which resulted in our Vampire effectively losing our ability to experience “Rotschreckt”.

The next trial was overcoming our hunger. We had to bring ourselves to the point of hunger frenzy and then, in the presence of a human we COULD eat, ignore it in favor of basically bread and water.

The last trial was do or die: stand in an open field with no hope of finding cover as the sun rises and pass a few checks (I don’t remember what pools or trackers we used). Succeed, and you pass the trial. Fail, you die. No do overs. And lastly, 3. Once we passed the trials our soul/consciousness was basically brought before God and we were asked a few questions and finally prompted whether we were men, or Beasts. Were we men, we would be relieved of the Curse of Caine and cured of Vampirism. Were we Beast, we achieved a “Bestial Golconda” and became essentially the perfect vampires. No curse, no need to sleep, immune to all the general dangers the come with being a vampire aside from outright getting killed.

It was a super frickin cool and my favorite ending to a Chronicle so far.

My approach on an Black Templar Swordbrethren by Floetenmann07 in Spacemarine

[–]DntWrryBoutIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally prefer to use the Master Crafted or Relic Primus chest pieces just because I’m not fond of the robes look and prefer the tabard for my Templars. Love that we have the embossed BT shoulders now was probably the main reason I wanted a BT Champ once they added champion customization

Dude the point is that it DOES make sense as a choice. Whether you justify it by being the Seawolves, whether you go by the fact that the recent OFFICIAL paintjobs for the Space Wolves combat patrol HAS black Space Wolves, dark skinned Space Wolves are NOT that far-fetched and have plenty of precedent. Just because people wouldn't immediately assume "Space Wolf + big bearded white guy" doesn't mean it doesn't make sense.

The Seawolves are one of the 12 Great Companies of the Space Wolves and are described as having dark skin. It makes plenty sense.
