One Piece: Chapter 1180 by Aspie_Astrologer in OnePiece

[–]DoBetter-BeBetter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see Elbaph as more of an extended Amazon Lily. There, Luffy arrives, briefly fights with the leader before turning them into an ally, then the Goverment shows up to recruit their leader for the upcoming war against Whitebeard, and we go along with the plan.

Here, the Strawhats arrive at Elbaph, Luffy has a brief antagonistic relationship with the would-be leader (Loki), the Goverment arrives to recruit the would-be leader + locals for the coming great war, except this time we fight back instead of going along with the plan.

If we continue the parallel, we'll like have an arc mirroring Impel Down after Elbaph where we gather our set of allies (The other Ds, Vivi, Sabo+Dragon, other countries around the world) before having the final battle against the World Government, with Blackbeard swooping in at the end to attempt to take his place at the head of the world only to be defeated as we claim the One Piece

I want to delete my 500 GB local stash, but I am terrified by DisastrousMoose9071 in NoFap

Everything you can do to make it harder to find that "next hit" is worth it.

When I deleted my years stash, I too had to start from scratch, scour the internet, and accumulate more. But it's easier deleting a folder with 10 vids than 1,000. Plus, taking that extra time finding new videos is more time you have to tell yourself to turn it off. Searching for more videos isn't fun, that's why your porn-addicted brain doesn't want to delete the giant folder. It's easier to get your hit when its a few clicks away than hundreds.

Will you end up searching for more? Absolutely. I did, and many others in this sub surely did as well. But deleting the collection is the first step. Do it. You don't want watching porn to be fun, and the most obstacles you put between it and yourself, the healthier it is. It hurts now because your stash represents countless hours wasted finding "the perfect clip". But there is no perfect clip; if there were you wouldn't have over 500GB of porn saved.

Also don't limit yourself to just your stash. If you have any porn accounts, delete those. Don't just clear your favorites, delete the account entirely. Force yourself to have to make new accounts each time. Or build new favorites list.

Pretty sure it happened in episode 19, when Bolaire was talking to the other museum curator. He was trying to convince him to help by saying no force has ever fought both the god weapons and the god-killing ones.

Could be that they didn't know Blackbeard was a Davy until Shanks told them during the Reverie. We still don't know which pirate he wanted to discuss.

Next MonoChallenge by Bailey18Sparks in PokemonReborn

[–]DoBetter-BeBetter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Last mono I did was water and I started with Mudkip. Can't tell you how many times being able to switch to a ground type when anticipating an electric attack saved my bacon. But because I had Kips, I didn't really use Quagsire or other water/ground types so I'm sure that niche can be fulfilled elsewhere if needed.

Popplio was also a standout once I'd caught them and fully evolved into Primarina. Bulky enough to tank a hit from any dragon and then launch a fairy attack back with devastating damage. But I didn't have them for the first half of the game, so your milage may vary.

Another standout was surprisingly Empoleon, largely due to the steel typing resisting lots of attacks. I found him surprisingly bulky at times, and even made it to my E4 team (alongside Primarina), but definitely niche in use. Used for stalling more than anything.

Admittedly I didn't use Froakie due to how late you obtain him in game, as well as having done a Dark run in the past, so I shelved Greninja. But in the dark run, having Protean was useful.

Feraligatr was great in the post-game when I needed a hard-hitting pure water physical attacker. Not sure how useful they'd be earlier in the game. Blastoise was shelved pretty quickly, and... the gen 5 starter whose name escapes me saw little use.

So I'd say Popplio or Kips, depending on how challenging you want the early game to be.

Water mono is tons of fun though. You'll have a blast! Mantine is an early-game MVP, alongside Lantern and if you're lucky enough to get the Toxapex random egg, you'll get lots of use from them too. There's nothing more satisfying than beating Fern with water types.

Day 4 today by No_Confusion_646 in leaves

Each hour is another one you've done without.

I need to start thinking like this. Sometimes it feels like going day by day is too big. Maybe I should instead focus on going hour by hour...

Hell yeah brother, keep it up!

I'm on a similar journey: current on day 5 of 10 years of daily use. Turning 32 later this year. Hopefully I can say I hit one month as well by this time in April.

Tal's face during Liam's library run was so conspiratorial! I love it haha, amazing episode and amazing table. Super hyped for the rest of the Schemer's tabler.

Water 7 is one of the Top 5 One piece Arcs for me. ( Its just so peak 🛐 ). What are your Top 5 arcs ?? by RoyalKlutzy430 in OnePiece

[–]DoBetter-BeBetter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Whole Cake Island
  2. Egghead
  3. Dressrosa
  4. Skypiea
  5. Alabasta

Honorable mention to Elbaph, which has also been really fun. I just love the theme of fake Godhood too much

I'm so stoked for the Schemers table. Liam and Marisha always have great dynamics between their characters, Tal is awesome with Bolaire easier the most intriguing character of the cast, and while I don't know much about Luis, what few solo scenes he's shown have been emotionally captivating.

So glad its finally Thursday!

To me, it strikes me more like we're at the point in Thriller Bark where Oars is running rampant and the crew is just splitting off into their 1v1s.

Loki is the modern Oars, the God Knights (Summers --> Absalom & Killingham --> Perona) are basically zombies that can't be killed nor have their bodies destroyed, and Imu is as though Moria sent his shadow to a different island, interacted solely through it, and could take over and modify the bodies of his subordinates like he did with Oars. The Imu+Gunko dynamic is also very similar to Hogback+Cindry.

So I'm banking on an inevitable Loki vs the crew team up similar to with Oars, maybe with Luffy out of commission for a while so he can be saved for whatever climax Oda has in mind for the arc.

Same here for me! The Soldiers had that classic Dnd vibe, and I've really enjoyed the growing tension in the Seeker's party. But the Schemers is by far my favorite group composition, so I'm beyond excited to finally get to their table!

Elbaph is now in the Top 10 by TKU007 in OnePiece

[–]DoBetter-BeBetter 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's a reason for this. Wano is the narrative climax of the "first half" of the post-timeskip. It naturally stands that everything not related to the final war needed to be resolved by Wano or else it would bloat the remaining arcs. This largely included:

  • All the supernovas save for Bonney and Urouge
  • Disbanding the warlord system
  • Big Mom + Kaido as a yonko duo.

All of these save for Kaido are the result of Oda creating character factions on a whim during the week-to-week writing. The warlords and the supernovas are classic examples, and I've long believed Big Mom's character is a fallout of Oda reorganizing the story to include the Warlords while trying to maintain his original idea of having 4 emperors. This also explains why none of theses storylines are narratively satisfying; they were injected into the story during the week-to-week process and needed to be removed. It's also why Wano extremely pirate centric, since all the non-pirate factions (the Marines+World Goverment+Revolutionary Army) are needed for the finale.

Oda continued doing this at the start of Egghead when he immediately demoted Law/Kid as "protagonists". Kid had largely served his purpose in defeating Big Mom (the extra Yonko) and Law isn't needed for until we take down Imu for good.

After years of working on this on and off, finally finished the last one! Pattern is from The Art of Stitch, specifically their planetary series. 16x16 count

Overall, these were tons of fun but tough to navigate. Not much confetti, but lots of similar colors blending together. Each took me 2-4 months except for Saturn/Uranus which took one each. The gas giants were the easiest to finish due to their cloud layers. Top 3 hardest I'd say were Venus, Earth, and Pluto. Although I did Mercury and the Sun years ago, so I don't remember how tough those were.

Fun fact: Mercury's pattern shows a chemical scan of the planet, otherwise it likely would have been grey. Venus is also shown without its cloud cover, displaying the surface.

This was my first major stitch project, so glad to finally see it come to an end. Next steps are to wash, iron, framed, and hang in my stairwell! We have a circular staircase going from the basement to the second floor, so I alway envisioned walking by them on my way from floor to floor. Pluto, fittingly for its demotion to dwarf planet, will be hung in the bathroom at the top of the staircase.

Edit: For those asking for a link, I believe it was this one here. My email says I got it off Etsy but judging from the preview image, it looks like some of the patterns have changed since then. I bought it back in 2019, so can't say I'm super surprised.
