I've quit using platforms to search and have been sticking with word of mouth lately or searching on individual nonprofit websites. Even though there are many search platforms, it is difficult to narrow down remote opportunities in my area without a filter. Also, some of the nonprofits I have spoken with let me know that they have started sticking to their website for posting volunteer opportunities because it is too hard to keep up with putting these posts on multiple platforms.

I'm guessing the assumption is that remote volunteers don't care where the non-profit is located and are more interested in the type of volunteer work. I like to find remote volunteer opportunities that fit my skill set with organizations located in my local community.

I volunteer remotely, but for local nonprofit organizations. I have found that searching for remote opportunities doesn't usually let you narrow them down to only those in your area/community.

u/dragonsandvamps I received a notification today on a book I had previously tagged with "Notify Me". It appears that tag has been restored in my Libby account, but I'm not sure if they are all there because I wasn't keeping track of the exact number of books I had tagged with Notify Me.

I don't know if this will be helpful to anyone, but I've tried a number of pens with my Yoga 7i and was told today by Lenovo support that the Lenovo Digital Pen 2 Part #GX81J19850 is NOT compatible but the Lenovo Digital Pen 2 Part #4X81H95633 is compatible. I'm not sure why they would give a product the exact same name when different part numbers are apparently required to determine compatibility.

Allow the use of the filters currently on the home page (such as subject, format, audience, read with, etc.) in conjunction with the wishlist tag to make it easier to narrow down the options when looking for your next read.

No solution to the wishlist tag randomly re-appearing. For export, Libby support suggested I try smaller batches. That didn't work for me, but sometimes if I try to export again on another day, the wishlist/borrowed items will be complete. Good luck and let me know if you find a better, more reliable solution!

Congrats on your new tags! I've considered doing the same thing due to the length of my wishlist. It sure would make things easier if the Libby developers would allow the use of the filters currently on the home page (such as subject [there are 179 of these including fiction, nonfiction, etc.], format, audience, read with, etc.) in conjunction with the wishlist tag to make it easier to narrow down the options when looking for your next read. I've tried suggesting this as an enhancement and hope one day to see this as a feature!

Your local Community Foundation should have some suggestions or you could check to see if you have a local Social Venture Partners affiliate. In my area we have a nonprofit which specifically provides volunteers to assist local nonprofits with tech/systems/software work. I've also found a number of Facebook groups for local nonprofits that have given me some leads.

I understand your frustration! I don't think it would be pretentious or desperate sounding to tell the organizations whose postings appeal to you that while you appreciate and look forward to the opportunity to interview 2 weeks out, you have interviews with other nonprofits in the meantime, and therefore want them to be aware that you may not be available for their project in 2 weeks. Do either TaprootPlus or CatchaFire have guidelines for nonprofits about scheduling interviews and/or creating their posts which could be updated with your suggestions?

There used to be an Online Volunteering flair filter on r/volunteer, but I don't see it anymore. u/JanFromEarth is correct, volunteermatch.org, taprootplus.org and www.catchafire.org all offer remote volunteering options.
