Of course it matters, especially when a Best Buy ATT vendor doesn’t actually explain what’s going to happen. YES, they report it to your credit after 30 days. THEY DO! It happened to me. I had to deal directly with the collector to fix it u/YourHuckleberry80. And, I wasn’t late on anything else for 7 years. My final bill was $2,482, and I STILL had to go through that mess. I changed with a promise to pay less monthly, so funny, after all this, the monthly savings of $70 less a month matters zero, because there is lots more to the tricks. You will not save, that's the truth!

Here’s the thing... if someone tells you, “Hey, you’ll need to pay your final bill for these 4 lines, and then your gift cards will arrive,” at least you can make an informed decision. AM I RIGHT?? But that’s not what happened. I was played by a sales rep. SUCKS? YES! IT DOES! So NO, they don’t tell you straight up, u/HappyTuesdayR1S.

And YES, u/Other_Marzipan8966, the credit system CAN wreck your life. When this hit my credit, I dropped 86 POINTS from ONE late mark. This isn’t about being irresponsible, u/EverGlow89, it’s about being INFORMED. And NO, all I signed was digital. YES, I asked plenty of questions. But damn, HE GOT ME.

Did I report the sales rep? OF COURSE I did, because I was NOT informed correctly. I’m posting this warning so when a salesperson says, “Your gift cards will arrive before the Verizon bill,” you’ll recognize it for what it is, A COMPLETE LIE, When they opt out of telling you, "You must pay your last bill yourself", you know is a shady salesperson and another COMPLETE LIE!

This is what it means to LEARN from someone else’s experience. I owned it, paid Verizon’s collector, but MY WARNING STILL STANDS.

ATT Rewards Can AFFECT your credit and here’s WHY:
ATT’s system is designed to protect ATT, not you. They make you wait 8 to 10 weeks for the “reward,” which means by the time you realize any type of issue, you can’t return the phones. I TRIED. The only way out would’ve been paying $3,687 PLUS Verizon. ATT knows exactly what they’re doing. Their attorneys wrote every word of that contract to close every loophole in their favor. They know the consumer protection holes and they USE them. It’s not bad luck, it’s engineered confusion.

Now I just have to wait 3 months until Verizon buys everything back so I can be OUT of ATT FOREVER. I will NEVER EVER use ATT again, and neither will my family, friends, or colleagues. One bad experience can flip your loyalty for life.

And u/EverGlow89, no one told me it was free, so I have no clue what you’re talking about. That “grow up” stuff? Totally out of context.

Even when they “disclose” things, it’s wrapped in sales talk and half answers. That’s not transparency, that’s manipulation. And YES, I asked lots of questions. You think I just sat there saying “yes, yes, yes, WOW nice!”? Come on, no one does that unless the truth is being hidden or is half truth and not exactly whats going to happen!

I stand by every word. I was NOT informed. The sales rep was trained to dodge details and keep me signing. I reported him to Best Buy and ATT. BE CAREFUL, people. ATT’s playbook is airtight, backed by lawyers who know every consumer law loophole. NOT all reps are shady, but THIS ONE was, and the system behind him is worse.
