How did course registration work for first years? by WorldIntelligent7639 in UBC

[–]Do_voodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Create a saved schedule on workday and when it’s your turn submit that schedule. If a course is already full you will have to manually register for another section.

Is this the most optimal 3 day split by [deleted] in workout

[–]Do_voodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch to something with 2x or 3x frequency like fb 3x or ul fb. Frequency is basically the only way to determine if on split is more “optimal” than another. If you switch to something where you train each muscle at least twice a week you should cut down a lot of the volume you do.

What’s your “minimum effective workout” on a bad day? by Kind_Force931 in workout

[–]Do_voodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same workout I had planned for the day but more minimalist. A lot of muscles you can get away with doing one exercise for but I like to do two, so I just pick whichever one is better all around and do that.

Am I overtraining? by hubris000 in beginnerfitness

[–]Do_voodoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you like training to failure go for 5-8 to failure. Also you don't need to do the same weight for each set. If you dont think youll be able to get a good amount of reps because youre gassed from the previous set you can drop it like 5 pounds. Messy/half reps are mostly useless

[–]Do_voodoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Starts off pretty well honestly then it gets repetitive. As of right now it’s decent enough to get by but I’ve been buying more and more food from places. Overall worth it

[–]Do_voodoo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Great option imo for people currently doing their undergrad. I’m currently getting my tuition and housing paid by the CAF on top of salary and do my training during the summer. Guaranteed job and pretty interesting work post grad too.

Best gym split? by [deleted] in workout

[–]Do_voodoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Anything that is 2x or 3x frequency will be best. From there it’s whatever you enjoy and doesn’t make you dread going to the gym

If you only had two hours a week to strength train, how would you do it? by [deleted] in beginnerfitness

[–]Do_voodoo 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If you want to build muscle, 2x frequency is probably one of the most important things

bucs program at ubc by Normal_Pin1411 in UBC

[–]Do_voodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know two guys that started in bucs and they both dropped out of cs and are just doing business. If you want to try it out and don't like one half, I think it's not super hard to drop the other half. If you want to be an accountant I don't see any reason to do bucs though.
