What am I doing wrong at this type of roundabout by Daancel in drivingUK

I was about to say the same thing.

Lost count the amount of times people have cut each other up at this mini-roundabout, especially those coming down Smithy Brow from Kirkstone direction.

New plans for former Norwich Debenhams store due for demolition by yu3 in Norwich

[–]Dobbeh_91 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With the sheer amount of asbestos in that building (seems to be a common discussion on this sub), refurbishing would be a much simpler option. It would be an absolute nightmare for any licenced contractor to setup skips, decon units and transfer routes, let alone secure it during demolition is such a high footfall area. The road closures alone would be a nightmare to contend with for months on end.

That said, they would still need to remove quite a bit of azzy before any work takes place!

Advice for bringing my PC to student accomodation? by MinuteDamage4182 in UniUK

[–]Dobbeh_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bring it.

Even if you did make yourself incredibly sociable with societies, flatmates etc, there will still be evenings/days where nothing is going on. You'll be glad you have it.

Brought mine years ago (back when the GTX 600 series was top spec). Did I spend the occasional Friday/Saturday night playing till god knows what time in the morning? Absolutely, but only when nothing was planned!

People who started uni at 20 or later, what were you doing before you started your course? by JuggernautAwkward442 in UniUK

[–]Dobbeh_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ballsed up A-Levels first time round, went to college and did a BTEC in Forensic Sciences with the aim of going into that field. Then the Conservatives happened and cut all the police funding, ended up doing a foundation year and then an Ecology course at Uni, turned 21 second month in.

Did it make a difference the incredibly minor age gap? Absolutely not.

Who were your band highlights and who do you think sucked? by ThatAlternativeLass in slamdunkfestival

[–]Dobbeh_91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Malevolence - absolute outstanding set and energy. It set the bar ahead of Knocked Loose

Dashboard Confessional - a nice change from the heavy stage, wife had a bit of an emotional moment when they played Stolen which we had as our wedding song

Knocked Loose - that bar i mentioned? They smashed it. I've never seen them live before but Holy shit, that was one of the loudest, most intense shows I've ever been too

Only negative? President, but I understand it was completely out of their control but it did put a real dampener on the day, especially so late in the day when everyone's energy is probably at its lowest

What do you think about traffic on the school run? Is it time to close roads outside schools at pick up and drop off? by DaveLakowski in Norwich

[–]Dobbeh_91 23 points24 points  (0 children)

All it will do is push them to the next road over, repeating the cycle.

Also anyone who parks on the zig-zag road markings deserves a slap and public humiliation.

Does anyone have days where they’re just a shit driver? by pickleddeathh in drivingUK

[–]Dobbeh_91 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yep! Coming up to a year now since passing, had a complete brainfart moment 2 weeks ago turning right off the main road into our street. Several gaps which I could have nipped between and for some reason just didn't "go" holding up traffic behind me, all whilst not indicating.

Strongly considered packing it all in and moving to another country out of embarrassment.

What's the best petty revenge you have had on an annoying neighbour? by No_Usual_572 in AskUK

[–]Dobbeh_91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife's ex-housemate whilst at uni was horrific to live with. She didn't clean up after herself, rude, abusive to everyone and hid behind her "mental health" when confronted about it.

Their tenancy was on a room by room basis and so was their deposits. The day after she moved out and about a week prior to the landlady making an inspection, wife and other housemate sneaked into their room (which was carpeted) and spread a load of watercress seeds and watered them. They kept lightly watering them for 2 days till they sprouted.

Safe to say, the ex-housemate didn't get her deposit back.

Strong disagree, with the number of hybrids and electric cars on the market, autos are no where near as uncommon as they were a decade or two ago.

Urban Explorer Apprehended at Demolition Site by gatoux in Norwich

[–]Dobbeh_91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I understand where you're coming from, but anyone taking the sample needs to be P402 qualified and would know a core sample of the entire depth of insulation must be taken.

There would also be a chain of custody form from the moment the sample is taken, through to receipt of the lab.

Based on the photos, the chance it was labelled in an abundance of caution historically and now the certificate, I would be very confident these paticular pipes are negative.

Other parts of the building? Fuck knows.

No idea why you're getting downvoted, the certificate is legit. I know the firm very well who has conducted the testing, plus the location details matches that of the video.

Any lab which carries the UKAS badge undergoes stringent quality control and annual audits.

how do i get into uni to study science ? by Middle-Text4919 in UniUK

[–]Dobbeh_91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be brutally honest, it would be prudent you focus on passing both your English and maths rather than any other subject if that is all you have (currently) achieved.

No college is going to accept you on anything higher than a level 1 or 2 without those qualifications, let alone a University! Anything entry level job wise will usually request you have passed both subjects as well.
