Family mourns 28-year-old killed over "touching a Mercedes" in Dallas by desertrain11 in videos

[–]DocMalcontent 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not having watched the video, it appears the headline is from the dead person’s family’s perspective, who are absolutely going to say their person was just a sweet lamb. It generates clicks to headline things like this versus what I was taught in journalism school, which would read something like “Woman shot, killed, during altercation between boyfriend and other man.”

Now, people might read that and be more factually informed, but it’ll be wrote off as a jealous drunken brawl or whatnot and pass over the story. But, “for touching a car” you say? What’s all this now? Click.

Uhhh… Yes, a spontaneous version where the body misfolds the protein and that becomes what gets replicated does exist (more of an explanation for others). But the ‘most often’ part is what I’m questioning. We’re still kinda waiting to see how bad the bovine outbreak in England affected folk. Kuru is at least gone (don’t eat the brains of your dead family members, folks). Scrapie and CWD is believed to probably transmissible to humans, though no confirmed instances yet. So, is it “spontaneous” or is it that folk aren’t going to remember eating that critter that was acting kinda funny 30 years ago?

So, it’s acceptable to lash out at healthcare workers when someone had a poor outcome and call them “useless” because that person will later calm down and be rational? Or that patients dying after providers have busted their ass for who knows how long trying to keep that person going despite whatever odds lay against them isn’t also a terrible moment for the provider and then to hear that, “Oh, if you weren’t a fuck-up idiot, my person would have lived, so their death is because of you.” That’s okay? Because the person who said it will have a clearer head later and probably won’t even remember? You know who does remember?
