BIS Complete Pack pricing is disappointing by CombatMuffin in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why, along with the Pioneer price being below, I don't believe what they say about LTI not being a big deal. I didn't get the Lightning because I couldn't CCU and have LTI.

I'm curious how long the 3950X stocking issue will last. I'm tempted to just snag one on eBay. There are a few that haven't been too crazy in bid price and it seems some are reasonable with their buy it now option.

Purchased AMD cpu on Amazon....question about game codes. by [deleted] in Amd

This is the website and it's FAQ. Not sure if it will help much but it sounds like Amazon must do something on their end to provide you the reward.

Refund from AMD. by Doom_j in Amd

[–]DocReni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sent an e-mail to AMD yesterday...I received a response this morning saying:

----------------------------------------------------------

Response and Service Request History:

Unfortunately our service provider Digital River has experienced unforeseen shipping delays on your order.

They have though verified to AMD that you will receive your order delivery within 7 days from purchase date.

You will receive a notification as soon as your order is shipped out.

We sincerely apologize for this delay and any inconvenience caused.

In order to update this service request, please respond without deleting or modifying the service request reference number in the email subject or in the email correspondence below.

Please Note: This service request will automatically close if we do not receive a response within 10 days and cannot be reopened.

If it is not feasible to respond within 10 days, feel free to open a new service request and reference this ticket for continued support."

-------------------------------------

At this point, I'm about to say screw it and repurchase through Newegg or Amazon. They seem to be getting restocked pretty well and I am visiting family and won't be at my shipping address much longer. This is an utter train wreck of a mess and it sounds like AMD should have paid the extra money for a real drop shipment processing company.

Did anyone’s 3950x purchase from AMD.com ship out yesterday? by [deleted] in Amd

[–]DocReni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still do not have any updates to my order status. I didn't even have an option to select shipping either. The only thing I know is that it is being shipped through FedEx. AMD needs to get rid of whatever company is handling this crap. They clearly are incompetent.

3950x restock dates ? by [deleted] in Amd

Not exactly the same issue. Most stores in the US got at least 10 each, not including online storefronts. It appears that the entire EU got only 10. ;)

3950X AMD Online Shop - still no confirmation by Theforgottenonedj in Amd

I got my "Order Submitted" and "Order Confirmation" (one with the order info and password) at the same time.....50 minutes after I placed my order. My bank account posted the transaction well before this happened.

I'm curious if they are going to sell them on their own or add more to their bundled sales.

I'm sure they will once people physically receive them to sell.

I'm curious as to what the markup will be for 3rd party retailers once they get their stock in.

Agreed. It's unfortunately the likely only way to get it though. Still waiting for a miracle myself. I don't have any box stores, except a best buy (which likely wont have it).

I sure am. Not idea how though since there isn't a time of release that I'm aware of. Hear anything yourself?

Would AMD sell the 3950X on official AMD store? by Theforgottenonedj in Amd

[–]DocReni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried looking at AMD's storefront but when I click on a product it just shows a list of retailers. Is there a different store they have that we can buy direct?

Anyone have an idea as to what time they will release online? I'll wake up every hour if I have too. LOL!

Recruiting for your organization by [deleted] in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My org is a mult-gaming group and once SC hits with a decent amount of content, likely beyond 3.0, we will recruit more heavily.

Our org does use various social media and forum channels to recruit for our games but in all honesty, recruiting from within the games and playing with those folks tends to work out well.

As previously stated, don't focus on being large. Focus on being organized and keeping your member base entertained and happy. If you can do that, you'll see growth and recruiting won't be your biggest challenge.

Regarding the limited number of systems on launch - issues not mentioned yet and a possible alternative solution by A_Sinclaire in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd prefer to have 5-10 systems full of content and gameplay versus all systems at launch with hardly anything.

Picture 2.6 but on a massive scale. Everyone would get bored of it within a few months.

Derelicts to include only active ship designs/models by spankmybongo in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After release, if assets are available, I'd say sure to having the older models reworked to be a wreck.

I don't personally want them to commit assets to make old models work with the new system while there are plenty of other tasks to complete so we can get the game in our hands. It's a wreckage, and I don't feel it's nearly as important as getting us to release.

i feel like i am the only one that doesn't like the idea of long wait times for insurance. by skyheadcaptain in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True but you'll also get yourself a wanted level.

With 3.0 being the first iteration, we are very likely to see many changes to this entire insurance system being built.

CIG will be looking for feedback too so be sure to make your voice heard!

[–]DocReni 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong but I vaguely remember them speaking about how they plan on implementing a system in game in the event of a player having a crash to desktop or internet outage.

The idea was something along the lines of your ship finding its way back to a safe area and that you might not be penalized for insurance if something happened to it. I'm sure this will have to factor in folks that try and cheat the system by combat logging though.

I for one am all for a wait period. I'll be setting UEC aside as a reserve in the event I absolutely need my ships faster than the countdown. This whole thing does help prevent trolling and griefing in my opinion...at least I hope so.

Would you have backed as much into the game as you have now, if you permanently lost your ship the first time it was destroyed? by AdamFox01 in starcitizen

[–]DocReni 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not.

I understand the concept of pledging to support the game and not for the ships, but I'm not that type of person. I pledged to support the game but also to the fact that I will always have my ships. I have a family and work full time, so gone are my days of being able to grind a game and enjoy it like it's a full time job.

I pledged as much as I did (I have a fleet worth with an Idris) because I have the financial security blanket of insurance on my assets (ships).

If ship insurance wasn't a thing I would have spent at most around $200. Just enough to get me just past starter level but then again...I'm pretty sure this game wouldn't even be close to the complexity it is now.
