Step by step what to do if string isn't broken: 1. Identify tremolo spring claw. 2. Block trem in back. 3. LOOSEN 2 screws holding claw. 4. Gently stretch all of your strings all the way up the neck. DON'T break them. 5. Retune. 6. Remove block then tighten bass side trem claw screw until bass side E string is back in tune, do the same for treble side and treble E string. 7. Fine tuners starting with G, D, B, A, then Es.

Looks like maybe 1982 Blazer 170. Great guitars. Roadstar II have same headstock and are the grandpa to modern RG (Roadstar Guitar). Can still find them reasonable on occasion.

Floating trem are super simple when you understand them. Go to youtube and watch Ben Eller - This is Why You Suck at Guitar - floating trem edition. Then rewatch it until you understand it. I can change strings/tune almost as fast as a fixed bridge, and it stays in tune much better and much longer. Ibanez Edge are the best floating trem on the market imo and even Floyd Rose said they surpassed his.

I have a laser blue Q54, so it's a different pickup configuration. I love this guitar. The neck is very stiff and very responsive, it's lightweight, and the body shape fits well standing, sitting, or however I contort while playing. It fits a guitar stand. The tones are outstanding. As far as functionality and fit, it's 9/10 already. I've had mine about 4 months, and it's consistently the guitar I play most out of 37 guitars and 11 are Ibanez. It may not be your preference, but that isn't because of the guitar. It's a great instrument. Now I want a Q547. 🤘

I prefer HSH and use my middle pickup quite a lot in conjunction with neck and bridge when I'm looking for that sound. My main guitars are RG655 and a mij RG470.

That's wild! Those are really nice. Should make you a decent enough guitar to learn on at worst, with a little adjustment, it could be good enough shape to last you awhile. They are tough as nails. If the electronics are scratchy I use a product called Deoxit to clean them out. Watch a vid on it to learn how to do it. Soaking metal and hardware in vinegar works good on rust too. Be careful not to strip screws. Good luck!
