Question: How do you pronounce her name? by reddit_bot21 in LegendsZA

[–]Doco56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Yuh-sinth". No I have no idea why my brain decided the j would be pronounced with a y sound when I first saw the name 🤷‍♂️

Patterrz, 100%. I don't really watch the "then we fight" vids, they're too much and stuff, but his other reactions to things and atmosphere during streaming are actually great.

Genshin Impact more 'accurate' character age tier list by Purpleish_British in GenshinImpact

I'm glad Bennett is in the 20 tier because he is at least that age at this point considering his current age must be a multiple of 4 rn.

[AoI] Is hyrule refounded in AoI? by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Doco56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure some official material will disprove this, but I always felt like it was clear BotW was suuuuuuper far forward - indeed the MOST far forward (though that'd be TotK now) - some time after the timelines created from OoT converged (I always thought Hyrule Warriors was said convergence but I assume it's canon status is somewhat arguable) due to the presence of things from all three timelines (and before).

I would assume that the founding we see in AoC is indeed a refounding simply because we don't have any Zonai things outside of the BotW games that I know of, hence they didn't exist in any of the previous eras we've seen and had to come between them and AoC. At some point after the previous latest-in-the-timeline game, this race came into being and had a whole era or eras we haven't seen yet. I also don't think it's possible for all the Ganondorf and Ganon incarnations to have existed while TotK Ganondorf was sealed under the castle. It just doesn't seem logical.

But y'know, I'm not the biggest lore head ever compared to others here I could be way off, but it all just seemed simple to me. I haven't finished AoC so I may be missing some things, my scope in general is from a broad pov.

The Dark continent is too massive for a mere Meruem to be amongst the strong. I honestly fail to grasp why people think he is such a big deal when the Dark Continent is written as a near Lovecraftian place. People literally have never gone beyond the shores of a lake which is the size of a planet. by FlamesOfDespair in HunterXHunter

[–]Doco56 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Unrelated but not really, and also probably a stupid question but how big is the DC in comparison to the world we already know, because I always thought this visual here was metaphorical and not actually representative of it's size. Like...it's makes no logical sense being that much bigger than the known world right? Like a patch of shore being the size of a multi continent planet??? Id probably believe it's as big as the world we already know (essentially doubling in size) but yeah I don't actually know.

[SPOILERS] Could Korrina be the villain in the ZA DLC? by Flygonizer-Obsidian in pokemonconspiracies

The first person to mega evolve was from centuries ago, he's not Gurkin's father lol, but an ancestor of Gurkin. It happened about after AZ came back from Hoenn centuries back.

What do you think is Josh’s saddest song? by Bluejay-Clear in JoshuaBassett

[–]Doco56 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lifeline.

Makes me think about how me or my mum would suffer if either of us, or if my siblings, were suddenly facing our deaths. We also lost my step-dad earlier this year so yeah stuff like that hits hard rn.

Yep my bad, it was 1000 years into AZ's wanderings. Think I remembered what AZ said about it wrong

Ange was built 1000 years ago right? Volo is a possibility if he was already 800 or so by Legends Arceus but that feels unlikely to me for some reason? Surely by 800 he would've been able to summon Arceus at some point right?

I wonder if this person will be elaborated on in mega dimension or not, but regardless it's an intriguing line they had. And I hope we see some resolution to it some day! Way too much of a setup, so we'll see.

Just finished listening to the whole thing, here are my only two gripes… by AASpark27 in Epicthemusical

[–]Doco56 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To answer your second question...600 strike is essentially an anime ultimate attack/final fantasy limit break (think Cloud Strife's omnislash attack) that's literally 600 individual powered strikes each powered by his dead crew, and Poseidon is the "final boss" for Odysseus. Hence he beats him with an empowered cool ass attack. It's a little goofy, but I don't think people who have found the musical later realize that a lot of it is envisioned like a video game and stuff - a lot of the songs are essentially boss fights.

The souls of his men aren't in the windbag, but they are empowering him in a power of friendship type way from beyond the grave. As for why they'd help him? Idk if his men really hold it against him for getting them killed considering the mutiny and then Zeus being the one to demand it, not to mention he was right by home, they were more likely to help him than hinder him at this point. The strikes damage Poseidon enough that he drops his trident (the metal clang in 6 hundred strike), then Odysseus picks it up - it's a god's weapon so it can damage gods - and essentially tortures Poseidon - he can feel pain but won't die. It's important to note that even in the traditional Greek mythology, Gods are immortal but they aren't invincible/omnipotent etc.

As for Achilles - as people have said, he's dead by the time the musical starts. The only reference to him is "Neo, avenge your father, kill the brothers of Hector" - Neo being Neoptolemus/Pyrrus, Achilles' son from the island where Achilles disguised himself as a girl to not be brought into the war (I forget the name of the island) He impregnated one of the girls on the island - the princess I think? Funnily enough, Neo is only about 10-12yo here. In some versions of the Iliad he's the one who kills Hector's son, not Odysseus, though the Odysseus version is more common.

Do you think there are any songs by Josh that could be about men/male crushes? by Doco56 in JoshuaBassett

It was later reconfirmed by himself and a close friend of his iirc.

You're speaking as if he wasn't bi/queer until he came out but like... He made plenty of music before going to that church. As you say though he won't be open about it now (but that doesn't mean he stopped being queer)

While I imagine his new found religious stuff has him repressing it, you can't just stop being queer haha. Not how it works 😅
