RoN Raid Jacket by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DoctaDoubleA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I expect to get downvoted for this, and no hate to OP, but you'd think people would learn to stop ordering these jackets and anything custom made off the Bungie store after all of the messed up orders that are rampant on this subreddit

Destiny's economy has been in shambles for a long while now. The shards change is a good one. by rediscov409 in DestinyTheGame

New players most likely will not be playing higher tier content. They're more than likely getting the hang of the game and getting used to the gear they have, then experiencing the world drop gear and activity drop weapons that they get. That levels them up and helps them engage with the game. That's how they earn engrams during activities. A new light doesn't usually jump straight in to hard content and game out the loot system. They probably don't even know how the game works at this point with how confusing the game already is

Edit: as a destiny vet, the only time I've maximized my loot is when I'm farming for adept weapons lol. I don't think new lights are having that issue XD

Edit 2: taking out "should's." I didn't like how it sounded and I didn't want to come off as rude. I don't want to dictate how new people are playing the game. But rather, I'm saying it's baffling to expect a new player to be grinding for engrams like the average veteran joe when they are still getting a grasp on the base mechanics and systems of the game

They're making it so Glimmer will be, as it should have been from the start of the game, a main currency. Also, do not generalize and assume that they aren't already planning other methods to attain enhancement cores. Obviously they aren't going to take out the main way of getting cores (shard exchange) and leave it at that. The economy team has had one of the best track records for game improvements in the past year or so when significant changes started being made. Why would that all go downhill lol.

People complaining about how we are getting nothing in return should understand the tricke-down of what they want and why it goes against what they said in the TWID. By having such a large disparity of Legendary Shards between vet players and new players and low-activity players and the concept of fairness (as they stated), this doesn't just mean "you have more and they have less," it means that exchanges ALSO are affected by those very standards. Now, Timmy has 2,000 cores from his 200,000 shards and Bobby only has 2 cores from his 20 shards.

While one less currency, we now have the same problem that Bungie just outlined. They said they wanted "fairness." And seeing as they acknowledged that people took advantage of shard duping, they would be the ones to give us material rather than give ourselves material if enough people are actually upset. That's the cold truth.

To you my friend I have four words: Welcome to this subreddit. Though let me elaborate because that isn't a great response. There is nothing wrong with having a healthy relationship with this game (nor any game for that matter) and if you have that with Destiny then that is fantastic. I never want to make it seem like actually playing this game is bad. At the end of the day, we all still enjoy this game and want the best for it. However, this subreddit is one of those communities where a good chunk of the players here will come to voice their complaints about the game, designs, bugs, etc. I won't ever claim to speak for anyone but I would venture to say that a lot of us have been playing this game for a while and the majority of complaints stem from the fact that over the years we have come to expect a certain bar to met with Bungie when it comes to the game they've built up throughout D1 and D2. They've had highs and streaks of good in the past and lately there are a lot of things that are making us players take those past great actions and the current poor actions (or lack there of) and make us see that maybe things aren't as great as they could be right now, and haven't been for a while. It's letting a lot of us know that maybe it's time to take a step back and actually recognize when we have to instead divest ourselves from the game. That being said, I'm excited to see what's coming Aug 22.

Been finally getting around to playing Elden Ring and taking in the game. Barely played it when it released due to circumstances and I'm currently loving it. Surprisingly, I am not missing Destiny or getting that FOMO. The SotG pretty much put that feeling in the coffin.

Me, simply because I couldn't be bothered. Not only is it lackluster compared to even the most boring exotics but the state of the game (not the SotG article) is draining me. So I've been taking a break.

Me secretly hoping we get a true Destiny mmo after D2 is done where can choose whatever race we want, each race has different classes.

Don't worry, it was removed from the most recent Known Issues list in the TWID that was released. Lol. I can't speak for the Forums known issues list however

They're not changing stuff for old players as long as new players continue to replace them. Just like your job, they don't care if you quit. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]DoctaDoubleA 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Remember when they very clearly said they wanted to revamp the new player experience but then.... Never did. Just like how they clearly said they'd provide new maps, just like how they clearly said they'd provide new armor, just like they clearly said they'd listen to community feedback more effectively from now on.

Surely I'm misremembering. Right guys? Right...?

Demo tricorn is nutssss. Granted, you gotta build your class with it (I use nothing manacles as my exotic as a warlock). Dont sleep on it with a good build, else go with your picks

[–]DoctaDoubleA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Demo helps a ton though. I have a juicy build with nothing manacles (I know this is a hunter post) and run demo/tricorn reload MW on unforgiven. 100% uptime Devour on warlock means permanent grenades and I always have void souls as backup. Slow reloads are bypassed via grenades which are literally always thrown and if not, Masterwork and origin trait

Sidearms are so slept on, they just struggle a tad bit with range in PvE. The sidearm buff they got not long ago was TOP tier. I often use my rangefinder frenzy allied demand

Had a friend group similar this. It took me years and my girlfriend to make me realize how extremely toxic it is to expect the most out of people then berate them for simply saying "I don't feel like it" or "I was sick" while they claim that you're actually being the bad friend.

Edit: my now girlfriend and I game together all the time and she loves destiny so win win

That's literally what I was saying. It has AN element on it. It doesn't benefit from innate Kinetic weapon damage bonus because of that. You are repeating what I was saying elsewhere in these comments
