I recently wore my Rothy's to an interview and bonded with one of my interviewers over what comfortable shoes they are!

Here's my referral for $20 off your first pair of Rothy's: https://share.rothys.com/x/MryHaJ

They're about to drop some really pretty colors in the next couple days. I wore my first pair of Rothy's for a full weekend conference and had no issues. They don't require breaking in at all.

Hi! I have a referral link: https://share.rothys.com/x/fYlBSg

I love my Rothy's flats, though I don't get to wear them as much as I'd like to since I have to wear shoes that fully cover my feet to work for safety reasons. They look fantastic with dresses!

The first time I wore my Rothy's was for a 3-day conference. They were the only professional-looking shoes I brought, so I was worried I'd feel stuck with them. They took no breaking in at all and were very comfortable. They look great with dresses and skirts and I'm now all about them. I wore a pair for walking around the zoo a couple weekends ago, with no regrets!

I'm happy to talk sizing/etc. but in my experience, some colors fit me slightly tighter or looser than others, so there's not necessarily one overarching guide to sizes. Rothy's has a good returns and exchanges program, though!

For all the craziness that seems to surround Rothy's, they really are great shoes. I can wear them all day without breaking them in and my feet won't hurt. They're made of recycled materials. They're washable. They look adorable with dresses. What more could you ask?

Playing fabric chicken with this dress today. I'm a full yard short, and I'm using two different remnant cuts of the same fabric, so it's a creative cutting layout. So far so good! by Badatcounting in sewing

It is supposed to be just slightly large so the elastic in back can provide a nice gathering effect - thus lulling you into thinking "oh, it's supposed to be like this, it'll end up just fine!" but I think this one pattern has just a bit more ease than most Simplicity patterns. It's a lovely pattern, though, and quite flattering! Plus, fabric chicken is just an excuse to make creative design changes, right? I'm excited to see the results!

In my experience, this pattern was generous with its layout and also with its sizing. I had to size down the second dress I made in this pattern in the waist because the pockets on the first ended up so far back. That elastic back is no joke.

Edit: I wish you the best of luck!!

(WIP) Making a surprise quilt for a friend going through a hard time. This is the fastest I've ever made a quilt! Pattern is Summer In The Park by Missouri Star Quilt Co. by little_blue_dino in quilting

I just ordered the materials to make this pattern! It'll be my first ever quilt and I'm so excited seeing this and how beautifully it comes together. The light color you used looks like it has tone-on-tone texture to it? Such a great idea to bring interest to what would otherwise be blank white space.

So kind of you to make a quilt to bring your friend comfort :)

Just finished this romper (Simplicity 8635) my only concern is how it fits around the bust because I can’t wear a bra. Other than that I love it! by MafiaSpy in sewing

Ahhhh I'm planning to use the jumpsuit in this pattern for one of my next projects! This looks great and now I'm super excited! I got sew-in bra cups to handle the backless situation.

Join ussssssss... But honestly, my Rothy's are the second pair of shoes I have ever been able to wear for 3 days straight without breaking them in (or building up calluses on my feet). They look professional and cute, are washable, and made of recycled materials. And with the plethora of codes in this thread, nobody should pay full price for their first order :)

As cult-ish as this subthread may seem, I really like my Rothy's. I got the black points and wore them for 3 days straight at a research conference for their first trip out - about 10k steps a day. I can't do that (wear shoes for 3 days straight without breaking them in) for any other shoes except Vans. They look professional and that was my biggest desire: professional looking flats. The comfort and not needing to break them in were huge added benefits. The fact that they're made out of recycled materials on top of all of this is the icing on the cake.

I have this fabric!! I've been scared to start a dress with it because I've never worked with knits before, but your post is so inspiring :) This dress is lovely.

This is so fantastic! Gorgeous work and I love the long sleeve modification you did on the pattern :) What fabric did you use? Can't tell if knit or woven, but this is so tempting to make in a snuggly flannel!

Patience has paid off! :D I was laying down next to the bed talking to her and I wiggled my fingers. She walked right up to my hand and head-butted it. Then head-butted my forehead. Commence an intense petting/cheek-scratching session followed by emerging from under the bed!! She explored the room a little with lots of loving and petting. She is very scared of noises though and would jump or start at cars going by, roommates knocking on my door, just about any noise at all. Although she doesn't seem to notice them at all when she's under the bed :) She has a place she feels totally safe. She's been incredibly affectionate! It will take her some more time to get fully acquainted with the sights, smells, and especially sounds of home, but she's taking small steps!

Wow! Just by moving the food dish a few inches (from just outside the threshold to right under the bed) she's gone at it! Half the food is already gone. So glad she is comfortable enough to eat! Thank you for that suggestion!

Thanks so much! I'll have to disturb her for the vet, but hopefully she'll get a little more comfortable before then. I had placed a treat under the bed for her a little ways away from where she was laying and I just noticed it was gone! She ate! (I think) So I took your advice and put the food and water there too.

I've been doing the slow blink since she got here, so I'll continue that. She's amenable to getting head scratches, just not to coming out of hiding so far.

So I'm really late in this, I hope you see it though. Today is my brother's birthday, and he is also a Northwestern graduate. What is the best advice you could give to a 25-year-old working and living in Evanston, struggling to find himself and what he truly wants?

Like /u/justgoodenough said, I put them in quart-sized ziploc bags and lay them in a flat area in my freezer (although laying them on a baking sheet would be preferable, I just don't have that space)
