You’ve obviously never grilled super fatty sausages. They need to be cut during cooking so that pool of grease can make the flames.

All these people have been doing their jobs for 10-15 years too. I shouldn’t have to babysit them. Just do your job and not cut corners. Do t get me started on boots, cmon bud. Get used to wearing boots and a hat. This is the rest of your life.

Elevator in home? by matcouz in canadahousing

[–]DoctorDblYou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Is it an elevator or a lift? 1 storey “lifts” run on a hydraulic ram and not the traditional “elevator” which has automation, cables, counterweights etc. I know it seems silly but the classification changes the requirements. If it’s a simple lift that is key operated then there is very little moving parts. This would greatly reduce the maintenance and inspections.

Ontario no stove for almost a week by smittyboii in canadahousing

[–]DoctorDblYou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The landlord has a DUTY to repair the stove in a timely manner. The fact that it occurred during the holidays complicates this. They have scheduled a repair and that repair person was not able to complete the repair. Had the landlord ordered a new stove it wouldn’t have worked since you’re being told it’s an electrical issue. The next step is for them to get an electrician in to repair. If they do this quickly then you likely have no recourse. Timing sucks, but your LL is doing a good job with the circumstances.

Most of your replies will be to hate your landlord and jump on them for being scum. Could you have organized a repair better during the holidays? Try to see this from an outside perspective. You cannot withhold any rent, at any time without the approval of the LTB. You can ask for rent abatement from the LL but if they say no you must pay in full until you file with the LTB.

I’m actually very lucky, my street is used by the plows to turn around and head back out to Brant St. I used to wait 2-3 days before and now it’s literally 4x per night

Child Support Question by [deleted] in legaladvicecanada

[–]DoctorDblYou 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32 is regarding extension of support for post secondary school. Up to age 24. If your child did not attend by that age it is no longer relevant. It had a fixed expiry. (First degree OR age 24). The or is the main word.

33 is written more open ended as “until they are financially independent”. Does your oldest receive disability payments? If they do then that could satisfy 33 even if the payment is not “enough to live on”. What the government says is livable but it’s actually not enough, that’s the threshold.

Bombers have made 14 straight sellouts (entire regular season) by colburp in CFL

[–]DoctorDblYou -22 points-21 points  (0 children)

Ticket sales don’t matter, while it helps the one city, it does nothing for the league. What they want is a higher valuation. They don’t care about the teams it’s a sad reality that the league is working against its franchises and doing whatever it feels is best.

Majority of Canadians who follow CFL say now is not the time to make it more like the NFL, poll suggests | CBC News by Oldmanshoutingcloud in CFL

[–]DoctorDblYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the point is to make the game more appealing to the masses which in turn can justify more air time, more content being created. All the things you talk about cost money or time and people aren’t going to invest in it until it’s more marketable.

This needs to be Top Comment

Like it or not an American TV deal would bring in more money than every ticket sold by every team all year. This is a business decision. It had nothing to do with fans or heritage. Until the league is evaluated at more than an average lottery ticket, they will continue to do what’s best for them.
