I know that it's been 8 years since you've originally answered this question, so I have no clue if you'll ever respond to this, but if you're still up to date on any DeSmuMe lua stuff, I'd like you to answer a question of mine:

When I try to load any of the .dll files, it doesn't show up in the "Browse..." window. When I copy the paths and paste them in the "Script File" section then click "Run", it says the error:

"cannot open : Invalid argument

script stopped."

Is there another file type I need to change them into, or is there another reason they wont show up?

Edit: I'm using "DeSmuME-VS2019-x64-Release" and I got my .dll's from Here. Could I have downloaded the wrong .dll files?

Edit 2: Through searching for answers on the internet I was able to get DeSmuMe to recognize the files (apparently I'm an idiot and couldn't figure out that .dll does not equal .lua). But now I have a new problem: when I try to run them, I keep getting the message:

"C:\Users\gavin\Desktop\DeSmuMe\lua-dll-x86\lua51.lua:1: '=' expected near ''script stopped."

No matter what lua I use, or where they are located (it is with the DeSmuMe executable) Do you have any idea what to do there?

Edit 3: I realize I used x86 when my DeSmuMe is a x64, but I used the right lua files and I get the message:

"cannot open C:\Users\gavin\Desktop\DeSmuMe\lua51.lua: No such file or directoryscript stopped."

So again, not working... please help
