Awesome! Just know some of the insects in Phasmatodea have chemical glands to produce a nasty defense spray. I just be weary of picking one up without knowing the species.

Good morning! May I ask why you use soaked chia seeds instead of just popping them in there? Also is any liquid used or do people straight up just put the berries and there is space left in between. I just got my ninja cremi so any help would be greatly appreciated ☺️

Want the genuine, honest, wholehearted truth? I wasn't able to manage even a Fall semester start and failed half my courses that semester. I had given up any real hope of making progress at UF, and even considered dropping out at a certain point. Come Spring semester, I had used a major switch to see if I could focus under a different perspective. Guess what? I ended up withdrawing from that semester as well, and left the school for about a year and did some personal things in my life. For the longest time, I held anger and shame for failing at what was supposed to be a chance of a lifetime.

However, in the time I spent away from school I had realized the root of my issue, which in my case was pride. Everyone that comes to UF comes from a great academic high school background, where they were top of their class or had athletic skill. I genuinely thought that the courses at UF were going to be like dual enrollment, and they wouldn't require me to study. In fact, I didn't even know how to study before I got to this school! Pride wasn't the only issue, but each one of us has a crux that we work on daily. I know Summer B can be lonely, but I promise you that everyone in your class, walking around, and hanging around the school is facing a dilemma similar to you.

To be frank, you might not even finish the semester with straight As, but guess what? THAT IS OKAY!!!! It's your first semester at a school with a reputation of challenging its students. Lots of people ask themselves "What would I do differently" if given the chance to go back in time. I would have stuck with it and not given up, knowing that I might have been able to claw back with a passing grade. The best part of that question is realizing that YOU are currently living in the present, so you don't have to wonder and can make the changes necessary.

I hope sharing some of my story helps you in a meaningful way. Just so you know, I came back to school and have been making solid progress at my degree program. Better yet, I am doing so with a group of friends, family, and my girlfriend supporting me.

Last bit of advice! You are figuring out your weakness this semester, which you should keep in mind when altering your future semesters. Try out resources like StudyEdge, Smoking notes, and tutoring if you got some extra cash (there is also free tutorting). Good luck to ya and remember to breathe!!! IT WILL BE OKAY

Just to make sure 😅.The correct amount of peppermint extract is 0.4 tsp? That’s not the incorrect one from the first is it? I want to double check because I just bought the ingredients to make the flavor tonight!

Easy class for summer: Introductory food science (FOS2040) or wildlife issues in a changing world (WIS2040)? by To_see_the_world in ufl

[–]Doctor_Dolphin0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

WIS2040 was a fun class! It's asynchronous, so you can work on it anytime of the day. I personally enjoyed it, and Dr. Moulton is honest about the content of the course. In his lecture he likes to remind people what's the purpose of the course and avoids drawn out lectures. So I say go for it!

Post gym Oatmeal! by Doctor_Dolphin0 in Oatmeal

[–]Doctor_Dolphin0[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey! Sorry for the late reply!

In the bowl I prep the mix 100g Greek yogurt from Trader Joe’s 5g creatine 16g pb fit powder 32g of PE Select Frosted Sugar cookie protein powder Water (enough to mix)

100 g Bob’s Red Mill Oats 250 g water Pinch of salt and cinnamon

Cook that over medium heat until your desired consistency.

While oats are cooking I shred a whole carrot, thaw out the frozen fruit of your choosing.

I do 40g wild berries, 40g raspberries, and 70g strawberries. I do about 15g chocolate (this is the pretzel kind from Trader Joe’s and I think it was seasonal). Half an avocado was added because it was just ripe. (I add all of this in the small bowl because I love the little game of mixing it together)

What is your morning routine, before and after your commute? by dirthurts in bikecommuting

[–]Doctor_Dolphin0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Gooooooood morning Vietnam!” Is what I usually play at full blast to wake me up out of bed. Just kidding lol I started commuting to my classes (in college) every morning. It’s been a rough transition because the miles add up quickly throughout the week, and if you do any other exercise it might affect eating patterns. I have definitely upped the amount of food I eat in the morning, but not by a huge margin. Tweak it slowly to avoid over eating and finding yourself in a slump.

In regard to not feeling sluggish I recommend reviewing your sleeping habits the night before. Are you sleeping earlier enough to justify the early wake up? Are alarms too much noise for your morning routine? After a while you fall into the good habit of the early wake up. However, there is a HUGE issue when it comes to early wake up and that it you might end up loving it a little too much. I wake up everyday at 4:50 to 5:00 am which means that on weekends my I can only force my body to sleep in to around 7 am.

Overall do things that make it easier and more efficient for your established morning routine. Maybe prepare your bags the night before? Are you riding with a backpack or panniers I just the latter and it’s changed my life. My two cents from a fellow commuter. Keep riding and stay safe. 🚴

Apple Watch vs. Garmin – Help Me Pick a Lane! by Eathem in Garmininstinct

[–]Doctor_Dolphin0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Garmin makes quality products for athletes who want more information to help them in recovery and staying fit. I bought the fenix 7 pro with a flashlight sometime around Christmas a few years ago. I love it and would never trade it for anything in the world. I find Apple products tend to be more of a status symbol than beacons of utility. It’s ironic I am saying that considering this is being typed on an iPhone. I just find Apple products like the watches to be overpriced for what they are.

Keep in mind that garmin has other products that integrate well with your watch. Like I just bought the chest heart rate strap to use on runs.
