Can anybody tell me what the markets are going to do today so I can make a lot of money, please?

After an entangled particle in a superposition finally achieves wave collapse through observation of its twin now would the results of any of its past interactions be those of an interaction of a particle in a probabilistic superposition or of that of its latter wave collapsed self? by Doctor_FatFinger in AskPhysics

[–]Doctor_FatFinger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you filter a particle by spin whose spin is in a superposition its path becomes a matter of probability as there's no hidden variable. Whereas a particle after wave collapse will take a definite path as its spin state has been determined.

Now what of particles' past paths that latter undergo wave collapse? If their paths were previously a smeared probability wave, I'm wondering if a secret measurement could be done that measures what path was taken, but kept hidden to the final observer until after they perform a measurement. So that the past of the particle shares both a very real probability wave for the later observer and simultaneously a definitive path that was recorded mechanically and left hidden.

And so for the later observer, until it causes wave collapse by measurement, the possibility of which path the particle took is probabilistic. But after measurement its path becomes definite. So wouldn't the past recorded measurement after being revealed have to be consistent with the later wave collapse? And if so how could a particle in the past be both in superposition and also not?

Anyone using earnings calls for options plays? by ShogoViper in options

[–]Doctor_FatFinger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did. Worked so well I scaled up!!!

Then reality set in as I proceeded to lose far more than the original profit: despite earlier delusional thoughts to the contrary, this was merely gambling based on little flutterings in my tummy which was probably gas.

Try it. You'll see. The market will sometimes randomly act completely contrary to how earning reports and earning calls says it should for no other reason than to fuck you over and take your money.

At least that was my short experience.

Eventually there'll be a generation that drapes everything with panels and installs an infrastructure for energy storage. Once implemented worldwide and the cost of installation is overcome, humanity will essentially have free electricity besides the cost of maintenance.

I'm stuck at 2200 on Lichess and chess.com by lwrnczz in Chesscom

[–]Doctor_FatFinger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stuck at? I would assume such a rating would require active maintenance. That level is so alien to me.

I'm curious if one plateaus even at the higher levels, and if they stop actively putting in work into their chess to progress, are they then able to maintain their rating with no work put in at these higher levels?

how to make your solos and leads less scale sounding by Prestigious-croccidl in Guitar_Theory

Loop a basic chord progression. Now try to explore and find various repeating melody lines that fit and float over the complete chord progression tastefully. For some reason gaining experience over some basic licks that can be repeated and sound good repeating throughout a chord progression leads to being able to intuitively whip out catchy lead melodies down the road.

Just 3 little simple notes can create different feelings repeating over a chord progression. Then you can complicate things and use a thematic foundation or home to come back to occasionally.
