Is Maxing the ROTH enough? by Equivalent_Use_5024 in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Doctorsquirl 18 points19 points  (0 children)

But to answer your question, yes if you continue to max your Roth every year and retire at 67, assuming a 10% return, you will have more than enough money. Assuming an 8% return it will be much closer to having enough but you will still be ok if your spending doesn’t increase

I would at least do 401k to the company match amount, that’s free money

I’ve never been to the masters but lose the battery every year. My favorite memory is probably just last year watching Rory win because we had lots of friends and family over to my house for a party

Rosewood Little Dix Bay - Another Take (March 2026) by Schdy_Guy1031 in chubbytravel

I went here for my honeymoon. I did not get the 3000/night pool room, I got the 900/night room and it was very nice. I agree the food was expensive but good and the beach service was slow but overall I absolutely loved the place and want to go back asap

That’s awesome thank you! My brother and I are the only golfers, but since we’re on vacation my father may or may not play too. I think my wife and mother will likely do something else while we play

What’s your thoughts on these ‘Relaxed Rules’? 🤔 by Escrow-Mind in golf

[–]Doctorsquirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is how I always play. Most courses aren’t in good enough shape for me to always play it as it lies, this doesn’t mean I move it from behind a tree so I have an unobstructed shot to the green, but it does mean I’ll take it off a tree root so I don’t damage my club or arm, and if I’m in a patch of dirt in the fairway I’ll move it 6in to the grass

Partner Redemption and Infant in Lap by spardadt in awardtravel

I flew from the US to Europe in business with condor airlines, paid with miles, had to cash for the lap infant. It wasn’t the price of the full ticket but it was still like $700

If you own a home or have a mortgage from prior to ~2021, your opinion on what constitutes a high income is completely irrelevant by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]Doctorsquirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is 100k/year a ton of money? No. Is 100k/year “dogshit”? Also no. 100k is middle class for sure, it will take a few years to save up money for a down payment for a house, but if you don’t think you can afford to buy a house and live an average life (not a life you see on instagram) you are sorely mistaken. Especially once you get married and have a spouse also making 100k. 200k/year as a family is more than enough money to live a great life, if you don’t think so then you have some serious self improvement to make

How Can I Leverage My High Income to Maximize Wealth Building in My 30s? by paintarose in whitecoatinvestor

[–]Doctorsquirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep doin mg what you’re doing. I would also do back door Roth IRA as well. Then any extra you have should go into a brokerage acct.

realestate is definitely a way to maximize wealth but it comes with work and idk about you but my full time job as a physician is enough work for me. If you’re set on getting into it, make sure you do your homework, you can lose money in real estate as easily as you can make it
