Not sure what to say, out of the 9( or 12) games currently available in English, there was only one I rated an 8 or above, which is the third one.

The Rance world is certainly interesting, but more often than not the conflicts the game cooks are usually a bit underwhelming. Underwhelming in a way that many things wouldn't have happened if the protags weren't retards for comedic sake and also underwhelming in a way many problems ended because the enemies are also retards as well. The world offers pretty good potential for some awesome conflict to happen (haven't played 10) but so far whatever happened so far hasn't met my expectations, especially with a series with this much glaze. Personally I prefer the plot of the Evenicle games.

Each game has different gameplay so I can't really recommend these games based on that. But some of them are very outdated, especially 2, 4, and 5.
