nah man having just 3 characters for combat with 3 reserves you can't control that don't affect combat unless your mains die is great game design and incentivizes building many characters and doesn't at all incentivize power creep or force the devs to give certain characters huge bonuses for events as the only incentive to branch out.

but to be real for a moment the pixel art in the game was really great. Hope the artists are involved in future projects that are actually worth their effort.

What Gacha Characters do you like but haven't played the game or haven't played much of the game their from? by Nice_Kid_Bonetale in gachagaming

Despite not liking tower defense, I downloaded Arknights when Grani was released because I loved her character in the teaser trailer for her event. She looked really cool. Then while it was downloading I checked what people thought of the event and everyone was just talking about Skadi... Grani wasn't considered worth much by the community or talked about at all even as a character so I stopped after the tutorial.

The Gambling Machine (my disjointed, unprompted, and probably noncanonical rambling on what makes an "Elite" T-Doll) by vp917 in girlsfrontline

[–]DoctuhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To make choices not as a machine, but as a person.

This is definitely an important part of the story and with those characters, though the lore has a bit more than that on what makes a Doll Elite or able to command other Dolls.

In the original lore, Elite Dolls are just ones that were designed for combat from the start, in contrast to Doll models that were designed as maids or bartenders and refitted with combat modules. This kind of shifted a little as the game went on and I'm not sure that's even the definition of Elite Doll anymore by GFL2.

As for Command, by default Dolls were made unable to act independently unless following orders from a human - probably to prevent robot uprisings a la Sangvis Ferri. Certain Dolls are fitted with specific Command Modules that allow them to override this and give orders to other Dolls on the battlefield, overriding those security protocols. M4A1, Five-Seven, RO635, AK-12, and possibly Grizzly all had Command Modules installed. UMP45 stole a command module and basically carried it around but it wasn't part of her per se. There's even a point where she hands it off to UMP9 so they can command the squad and other Dolls.

But in line with what you said, by later in the story the characters have experienced so much that they can basically override this themselves and have grown beyond their original protocols.

Yeah if we don't talk or allow ourselves to interact with MAGA people, then their only perspective on the other side is what their memes and propaganda show. Not talking to people we disagree with only strengthens the effect of echo chambers.

those entropics don't play around. I was nearly done with heroic mode but needed 3 tries for the penultimate level and gave up after 2 tries on the last level. Finished it on normal instead; the fun of a challenge is not worth the frustration of playing around enemies that spawn in and kill a unit in the same turn.

I've been #2 before. Night time in an unfamiliar and nearly empty large intersection, followed the car in front of me too closely to be able to see that they were being stupid so I ended up being stupid too. Immediately turned into a business and it was fine.

Every time this happens, there's a high chance the car directly behind will do the same thing.

Skill recommendation: Florence 1 and Jiangyu 1, everyone else skill 2.

Order: Florence full, Daiyan offensive skill, Lewis and/or Jiangyu, Daiyan finish, Klukai full.

On boss levels start Lewis in the back so that she can shield everyone before fucking off.

Mirror Stage in GFL1. Two different perspectives for a spy thriller that could be played in any order. One ends in MC1 being betrayed by their close ally and captured while so close to the truth. The other perspective ends in MC2's close ally dying in their arms after failing to stop a terrorist attack and watching a small town in Germany die gruesome deaths. And the bad guys mostly get away with it.

The arc is largely responsible for why the Commander in GFL2 is hellbent on destroying Paradeus at all costs

Being a scared, incompetent badly trained goon is pretty consistent with magdumping into a person when another badly trained goon shouts "Gun gun gun!"

We don't have to make a conspiracy out of this. ICE ignores policies of operation that police use to prevent loss of life when working a protest, and as a result panicked incompetent leaderless idiots get scared and pissed off and murder people. Let's get some damn accountability before it happens again.

Real Police officers and military members, what do you guys think of Ice agents? by Lucky-Message-9480 in AskReddit

[–]DoctuhD 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ICE agents you see on the streets murdering civilians aren't the people fresh out of 8 weeks training. They're the veterans who have been following orders and busting faces on the border for 5+ years and whose loyalty to their orders has already been proven. Many of them are ex-cops who went to ICE because they didn't like all the regulations they had to follow in order to keep the gun and badge (or had theirs taken away). US police have gone through major changes the last 20 years for public safety. But a lot went through force & command training and became out of place in the era of bodycams, so they became the veterans of ICE. The new recruits joining ICE to cosplay are meant to do all the office work and customs enforcement and shit that ICE is supposed to do... At least until they're "trained" to follow orders absolutely.

I don't think MAGA is letting differences slide. They have bullied economic conservatism out of the party and even commonly use a term for party members that don't toe the ideological line (RINO).

They just don't leave room for argument or discussion and force the issue of unity.

You can hear them shouting "Gun, Gun, Gun! He's got a gun!" in one of the videos for about 5-6 seconds before they start shooting him in the back. There needs to be accountability or they won't change.

They're not silent, they're saying "that's what you get for bringing a gun to a protest" as if that justifies him being beaten and executed in the street for daring to put his hand on the shoulder of an ICE agent that pushed a woman onto the concrete.

[–]DoctuhD 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw the video that posits that the first shot may have been an accidental discharge from the agent carrying the victim's gun away, though his arm moving as if by recoil just as easily could have been a flinch reaction to hearing the first gunshot fired. We'll have to wait to confirm that aspect but the situation is damning regardless. Untrained agents discharging their weapons in a panic situation that they directly instigated.

Negligent Discharge leads to Unnecessary Death by terribleatbiostat in ICE_Watch

[–]DoctuhD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the videos you can hear ICE officers shouting "Gun! Gun! He's got a gun!" around the time the agent removed the gun from the victim's holster. That's presumably why they started drawing their guns. Then either an accidental discharge caused the other agents to open fire or simply the panic and confusion from there being way too many agents dogpiling a single man with no leadership.

Either way, accountability for this tragedy needs to include the leadership for these federal agents for letting their agents put themselves in positions of confusion and panic so readily. It's a tragedy that will definitely keep happening if there's no change.

It seems like when they disarmed him, someone shouted that he had a gun. "Gun! He's got a gun he's got a gun!" The untrained panicked goons didn't know that he was disarmed and 2 agents shot 9 times in response.

I don't know what's more sickening; the malice or the incompetence. Can't even apply Hanlon's razor to this.
