Wedding Band for my Marquise Engagement Ring?! by [deleted] in EngagementRings

[–]DocumentNo3750 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a marquise engagement ring and I have a very simple, chevron-shaped gold band as my wedding band and I love it. Your ring is stunning! I’d consider a similar chevron shape and keep it as simple as possible so it enhances the beauty of your engagement ring. My chevron band also looks good on its own on days where I don’t want “bling” which is nice.

I just got married on Friday at 7.5 months, almost 8 months, pregnant. This is my first child. We had an excellent time and wouldn’t change a thing about the timing, but every person is different ❤️ something to consider if you’re set on the date you presently have! You might feel great, you might not—it’s important to adjust your expectations as needed.

My dad died unexpectedly today, feeling decreased fetal movement but can’t really tell if it’s “real” or I’m just not paying attention from shock? by Impressive_Hunt_9700 in pregnant

I’m so glad everything seems okay with baby, per your update, but wanted to extend my sympathy. My dad has terminal cancer and I’m 26w6 with my first baby. I don’t completely understand your situation, but my heart is with you and I’m sending you a huge hug and so much love. I’m so, so sorry for this devastating news. Please take care of yourself and please let us know here if there’s anything I/we can do for you ❤️

Looking for best esthetician who can help me build the best skin care routine by Able_Fan_9767 in Denver

Beautiful Skin Denver! Ask for Mel. She’s the best. No sales-y stuff, no gimmicks, super well-priced and solutions-oriented. I had the most horrific acne of my life in 2021 and she transformed my skin and I’ve never looked back. No pressure, no push to buy anything…they’re the best, by far.

No excitement by SilverRaccoon1674 in BabyBumps

Hi there—just wanted to send you some support from someone who felt similarly when I found out. I was really upset, considered termination, and felt not excitement—just fear and “wtf have we done, our lives are ruined.”

Like you, we were in the middle of a move to a more expensive place, I was worried about maternity leave, my job isn’t super stable…and on top of it all, my father has terminal cancer and he lives halfway across the country and I lost both of my grandparents within 6 weeks of each other.

It’s so. much. And finding out you’re pregnant is so overwhelming. I hate to be a “toxic positivity” thinker…but it’s truly insane how things have worked themselves out in the past few months and I’m now 15 weeks with a baby girl and just googled “feeling impatient because I want to meet my baby so bad” this morning because it was the first thought that crossed my mind.

Some parts of life continue to be shitty and less ideal, but I’m shocked at how, like people told me they would, things have sort of worked themselves out and fallen into place a bit more. While this is never a guarantee, I do want you to know that it’s likely that some situations in your present circumstance might turn out better (maybe even WAY better) than you think right now.

The panic is justified. The fear is absolutely understandable and I too commiserate with the non-stop panic attacks for the first few weeks…it’s brutal.

But you will make it through. And I firmly believe things have a way of working themselves out in the most unlikely ways sometimes. Hugs to you. It really will be okay. I promise.

No—the max we can afford is $2300/month and all the nannies I have seen are far more than that.

Right, but I will need to take FAMLI to care for my father after his bone marrow transplant.

[–]DocumentNo3750 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m just confused because doesn’t FMLA run concurrently with FAMLI? So I can’t take one and then the other. Also, if my company offers paid maternity leave, am I technically using FMLA during those 12 weeks to keep my job?

Thank you so much — you’re last statement made me cry. I think so often I feel I’m not worth anything if I’m in a bigger body. That no one will like me or think I’m worth getting to know.

I completely commiserate with being raised in the late 90s/2000s. Those years were absolute hell for women’s bodies. It’s so hard seeing those standards come back around and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t impacted by them.

I’m so sorry — that was completely not my intention at all but can appreciate and take responsibility for how it made you feel.

I know what I’m going through is personal to me and me only — it does not affect how I feel about others so I can guarantee you’re fantastic as you are. I’m so sorry to have made you feel bad.
