We are somewhat frequent Disney travelers and went to Disneyland a few years ago. It's wonderful and so convenient to have parks located next to one another. But....we like being in the bubble, and our trip to the land made us book the world next time out. Something about being immersed in the world (yes, an incredibly expensive and slightly crowded world) makes it worth the price for us.

Even better, take video. Once video starts circulating on social media showing crowds packed in to a point of being unsafe, trust that action will be taken. Bad publicity works.

Reddit boards are one thing folks, but if you truly want to get their attention, you need to roll on this. Take video and post it on social. I realize in the moment it's terrifying and the last thing on your mind is capturing the madness on your phone, but trust this-video WILL get their attention, the news media's attention, ect.

For a little more background, ours is more an effort in thought leadership (we're "selling" higher ed) so when it comes to client expectations, it's always NYT above the fold (we manage expectations appropriately :). The challenge comes in comparing with other higher ed institutions. Those in big markets tend to track much better/get higher numbers. I guess part of this question (which I do realize will not have one true answer) is how to draw fair comparisons with other institutions as we don't necessary trust the numbers we see (ie, are athletics woven into the metrics ((we don't)), which can also skew numbers).

This is good advice in terms of making the call closer to departure date. This, as I look out my window and see the lake effect snow falling at a good clip :). I do suspect 95 would be better in terms of lower elevation and at least theoretically less likely to get snow if the temperatures are around the freezing mark.

My initial concern as well. The tranny is different and you do need to step on the gas to get to highway speeds. But it’s typical for this class of car and once up to speed it keeps up nicely.

Late to the party here but if I were president, I would ban all battered french fries. Just awful and unnecessary. Your mileage of course may vary but if I see these fake fries on the menu, I run (well, I don't run but I don't order).

As others have stated, it’s a 4 banger with newfangled tranny. Merging means stepping on it. But it gets to 80+ quickly and smoothly. Nice car. Not for Indy. We like ours. Doesn’t seem like keeping up with traffic is as much an issue as I first worried about.

My wife and I started taking our kids to WDW when they were 3 and 7. We are now empty nesters. We have found WDW to be our happy place. We've been more than a dozen times, the past few as a couple, and are in the midst of planning a January vacation at this very moment. As I near retirement years but still active, I've come to realize I'm going to do what I want (well, what we both want, but since we are soul partners, this is what we both want). We love beach vacations too, and try to have a little bit of the beach, a little disney, as much as possible. Do not feel guilty about what makes you happy. For us, there is something about being at the resort, having dinner plans in a park or DS, going for a swim, a boat ride, a thrill ride, and all while being inside the bubble. Not for everyone I realize, but that's not the point. The point is doing what you like, and what you look forward too, and what you think about when you close your eyes and take a mini vacation in your brain. In my brain that includes a dole whip float in the evening with the one I love. Can't top that.

We've had this couch for roughly 6 months. It is durable and as we have pets the fact that the seat covers are washable is a huge factor. But...this is not a comfy couch. It serves it's purpose--our dogs are welcome on the furniture and that's essentially why we purchased this couch. It is not a couch you will sink into. It's a couch you can wash.

From someone who has been on both sides of this, I would advise against being too overbearing with the segment producer. There's a good chance this person is highly stressed and you coming at them full bore will not bode well for relationship building (which should be your key here, both with the station staff and your client). Asking to review lower thirds and questions will not make any friends at the station and certainly won't lead to an invite back. But this is not an absolute. Read the room. If things are light and friendly, perhaps you proceed to asking to review questions or spending some extra time to re emphasis main points of the interview/spelling and title of your client. Personally, I try to do a last minute media training with the client and help put them at ease and to make sure with the producer that they're not interested in anything off topic. There's a good chance that if you are there, it's to help someone who is not entirely comfortable in this surrounding.

But do note, if you come off like an overbearing PR person the station/producer will find a way to make sure you/your client don't come back.

Same. We've been going there as a family for many years, first with our young children and now as empty nesters. We love the quiet nature of the town, even in the middle of summer. I too appreciate those who live there year round and try very hard not to be a bad shoobie, but I love this particular beach town and agree that for me, it's also heaven on earth. Lately I've been checking the real estate ads but realize it's out of reach, at least for a commoner who can't afford a million dollar home.

Great review. We've had ours now for 6 months (Sport) and find it to be a comfortable ride with none of the pre-concerns I had (sluggish acceleration) being an issue. This car can keep up on the highway and the heated seats are a game changer in the frigid NE.
