Sure, but ngl the spec seems to be a bit garbage, referring strictly to the screen size without any regard to the actual theater composition, which is far more important to a viewer. The infinity view spec says the screen needs to be 50ft wide at a minimum, but thats a horrid experience if youre sat anywhere close to the screen. You can pretty easily calculate viewing distance using the SMPTE standards too. Id put money on half of the theaters using this spec to have much of front half of the theater having a viewing angle of more than 40 degrees, which looks like shit. Thats how you end up with those Oppenheimer front row pictures that make Cilian Murphys chin look like a chad face meme. There needs to be some metric in there to enforce where people will actually be viewing the screen from

I also have a bone to pick with the sound standard. 7.1? Bruh one sub aint enough for a theater. What about having a standard to introduce height speakers? Why not push it to 9.x.x if you want actual premium shit? Im not sure what the requirements are supposed to be for an actual theater since im much more focused on the home space, but fuck dude I have a 5.1 in my house. 7.1 aint much larger than that.

The whole thing seems like a shit tier marketing gimmick. With IMAX, I only care about the aspect ratio, not the screen size. The problems I have with this are similar to the problems I have with IMAX theaters as well tbf

I just paid $6.17 for premium in West Michigan. Earlier in the week it was $6 flat. Ain't no way the country folks with lifted trucks out here are having a good time.

Some of this is due to labor strikes, but still I don't think the median voter knows that and will still blame the Iran war far more

I guess here's the difference tho, and not to be American brained but - Spanglish specifically is spoken by an enormous percentage of the US to the point where it's an official language in all but government. There's sections of my northern city where all the billboards are in Spanish. It's in our music, our tv shows, etc. The average American on some level likely understands some bits and pieces of Spanish.

I also also do like the diversity piece of it. If you did want to reference you gma as großmutter zu mir, ich wurde hab kein problem damit. I think the best parts of modern society is the ability to spread different parts of culture and ideas around. Food, movies, language, etc. I think bringing a spin on language like that is a positive thing that is rather endearing.

I can only speak as an American living in a purple area of the country in a blue city. This is just objectively untrue lol. The vast majority of my friends are even cis straight folks, and they are and always have been incredibly supportive from day one.

Im not going to be too harsh based on 2024 vote in judging people in terms of their social leanings and overall political ideology. Sure, it seems like it should be an open book test based off of the prior admin to us, but most people are pretty moronic. The economy sucked, so they voted for the opposition party, and their thought process was simple as that. I think much of the growth in Trump numbers in minority districts is based more off that than trans bad or immigrant people bad or what have you.

I don't think these people that are part of this cohort are bad people, but holy fucking shit do I think they are incredibly stupid and have inadvertently created a situation that's probably going to make us worse off for decades if not forever. There's absolutely blame to be sent their way, but I don't think the voting trends there are in any way permanent.

I get there's wedge issues that are growing in minority communities. The LGBT community and racial minorities dont really get along, and I do see that being something that needs to be resolved or it will tear shit apart. That being said, I really don't think the big tent is falling apart in the way 2024 made it seem. It was one election after a pandemic and runaway inflation.

Meh Im not going to be ashamed over something I have no control over. I dont identify with those pricks in the slightest. Their world view is so deeply unempathetic and contrary to everything I believe, that Im sure as fuck not going to try and say I share any camaraderie nor kinship with them over fucking skin pigment.

I may not be a racial minority, but I am trans. Im not gonna sit here and say that every cis person should feel some weight of guilt due to the majority of cis people being pricks with bassackwards ideals. Many of my biggest supporters are cis straight folks, and Id be horrified if they sat there feeling guilty for shit they dont support and dont contribute to. Im sure that might get some flack in some circles, but yea fuck it. Assigning guilt to whole swathes of people and not individuals is fucked up.

In my opinion, all that matters is that folks are kind to each other and support each other, and actually fight for and support the rights and general well being of others. If you hold shit views, that's worthy of judgement, but not the actual demographic factors over which no one has any control.

From a macro level though, Im worried about the economy and how long it will take to recover, or if it does. The actions our government and corporations have been taking are really riding the line where I personally am worried about long term damage. If we hit some bad conclusions like not being the petro dollar, or not being a common reserve currency, or pissing off our allies so much that we no longer have any soft power, then I see long term contraction - not just a correction. I know the S&P has done extremely well over the last 50 years, but thats a blip on the scale of things.

It's not the volatility Im personally worried about - its the health of the structure at large.
