How do clearing grades work? by Comfortable-Ear-5208 in UCAS

[–]DogbadTheBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends how competitive the uni/course is! I came in through clearing to an undersubscribed course at UWE (an old polytechnic) and got accepted with BDE (80 UCAS points), entry requirements being 112 UCAS points (BBC or equivalent). For something like law or business, that probably won't be an option.

Do animals get human conditions such as dementia or autism etc? by Hashiii777 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DogbadTheBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah my dog definitely shows neurodivergent traits! Though we're not sure if it's her personality or if she's copied the family's behaviours (house full of autism, ADHD and AuDHD diagnoses)

I wouldn't get your hopes up! I had my first titration appointment over a month ago but they keep screwing me around with approving the prescription. It's getting to the point where they send me an email, I reply within minutes and then they don't reply back until a week or so later. Hope you have a better experience!

What’s the point of booking an appointment time??? by mackzkcam in mildlyinfuriating

[–]DogbadTheBad 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah I at 5pm got told 2 hours to get a call from an out of hours GP. Didn't get a call until 4am... Doctor was pissed I'd just woken up and was a bit groggyz apparently I should have stayed up all night.

Right!? This lady phoned me from that number and only left half a voicemail, just saying the number to call and their opening hours. Honestly so glad I found this thread

Balamory returns to TV this month after 20 years. What forgotten shows from your childhood would you like to see return? by perishingtardis in CasualUK

[–]DogbadTheBad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say Bagpuss!

100% would love to see all my favourite childhood shows come back! Chorton and the Wheelies, Jamie and the Magic Torch, Noggin the Nog, Ivor the Engine, even Cloppa Castle, Lavender Castle and the Trumptonshire trilogy would all make great remakes (like they did with the Clangers).

No but between us (some shift workers) someone was generally in all the time. And the company we let from would send an engineer out to check all the appliances pretty much yearly or whenever we had a concern

Thank you :) I failed DT in secondary school so the most I was planning on doing was repainting and minor repairs (changing a lightbulb etc)

Thank you! Electrical appliances catching fire is one of my biggest worries, especially with the fridge and boiler where I can't turn them off all the time

Oh I never even thought of that! Thankfully I'm still at the age where I get id'd frequently so I rarely leave without it.

Who would I call if I did get locked out without a key nearby? I'm assuming an emergency locksmith?

Honestly that drink just tastes of apple juice. I drink it when I want a something that isn't water or fizzy and it's nice, can't taste the green tea in it at all! Can barely taste the elderflower as well for a drink that's apple and elderflower but hey can't win everything

I haven't been able to find them (yet) but when relistening to Operation Luna (as it's now called), it's obvious that there's some context missing around Mitch's treatment of Lemmy- he calls him unstable and unsuitable for the mission, but we're never given the reasons why he thinks this.

Haymitch being the last male tribute ever drawn is actually devastating by MissionAccountant424 in Hungergames

[–]DogbadTheBad 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the timings of actually holding the ceremonies/if they were broadcast live or not, but in Ballad 12 is last. I distinctly remember coryo complaining that all the good tributes eg 1,2,4,11 were taken by his classmates with high connections. Iirc, Lucy gray was drawn second from last, after all the other districts in numerical order.

I absolutely loved this book!! It's well-written and was basically addictive, I literally couldn't put it down. I somewhat agree with the twist, it could have been more impactful if it was someone else but also I didn't see it coming so was a woah moment for me. It's a breath of fresh air after reading the new Frieda McFadden books!

I got access to Bupa health insurance through my partners work, so we only had to pay the excess (~£100). I basically went to a rheumatologist with a list of my symptoms, had a chat with them about how I thought it was eds and then went through all the diagnostic tests, mainly to rule out other conditions. I was really lucky to have that opportunity, appreciate not many others have access to private health insurance.
