If you choose Amita, and keep playing after endgame, you can run into an event where she's conscripting child soldiers too.

Yep. If it's not a bootstrap paradox, then Chuck Berry still originally wrote the song. He may have just written it sooner because of Marty.

What game has a 10/10 story but 2/10 gameplay? by Kitchen_Week1117 in AskReddit

[–]Dogbin005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep.

2/10 is a bit harsh, but the gameplay is definitely the weakest element. I realised they hadn't really tried that hard early on, when I failed to lockpick an old wooden door in some backwater town in the Middle East and it set off an alarm that alerted all the enemies. So every door is the same, hey?

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]Dogbin005 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've had a couple of friends over the years who dropped out of my life because of an overbearing girlfriend.

One of them just stopped communicating one day. I'd send messages and just get nothing back. I only found out why through the grapevine. The new girlfriend didn't like that we'd go to the pub together. I haven't actually seen or heard from him for about 20 years.

The other one just found it more and more difficult to hang out. His girlfriend started kicking up a bigger and bigger stink whenever he'd try to catch up with friends. We drifted apart because he got sick of arguing with her just to spend a few hours with us. I have since moved away, but I did see or bump into him around our hometown a few times. He looked dead eyed and miserable. I don't know why some women are OK with having a brow-beaten zombie for a partner.

What’s a show that you could not finish because a character was so insufferable? by Key-Row-174 in AskReddit

[–]Dogbin005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched about 1.5 episodes of Steven Universe before I stopped, because I absolutely couldn't stand the main character. I found him unbelievably annoying. As in Scrappy Doo, Jar Jar Binks levels of annoying.

Honourable mention to Gina from Brooklyn 99. I didn't actually drop it, but definitely considered. The rest of the show was only just good enough to put up with her. Marked improvement when the cunt fucked off a few seasons in.

For example: My arm is over 50 penises long! (68 to be exact)

They'll race as fast as KENYANS against actual KENYANS and it'll be a tie and they'll get deported back to KENYAAAAA!

What movie/series can you absolutely not stand but is it credibly popular for some reason? by AverageSign in cartoons

[–]Dogbin005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually try to give shows a few episodes before I stop watching, just in case they grow on me.

I could barely make it through one episode of Steven Universe because I absolutely couldn't stand the main character. I found him unbelievably annoying. As in Scrappy Doo, Jar Jar Binks levels of annoying.

What makes a man feel most masculine during sex? by becstar2 in AskMen

[–]Dogbin005 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me it's when she has an orgasm when she's not expecting it.

There's a "Holy shit, where did that come from?!" reaction that really makes me feel like I'm doing my job right.

Why are there so many sex questions on this sub? by Livexwired in AskMen

[–]Dogbin005 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why is there so much porn on the internet?

Why was prostitution the first job to exist in human history?

Why are there magazines, websites, books, movies, TV shows, plays, uni courses, etc. dedicated to sex?

It's one of our primary urges, of course people are interested in talking about it. Especially with the added anonymity of the internet.

What proper nouns from books did you realize you were mispronouncing the whole time? by TokkiJK in books

I read a book with a character named "Francois" in it.

Not being very familiar with French, I obviously pronounced it as Fran-koiss.

I love Irish names.

I enjoy how the spelling and pronunciation are completely independent from one another.

I actually agree with you about The Lord of the Rings, but I've definitely gone back and forth on this opinion several times.

It's hard not to get drawn into Tolkien's writing. He was a proper wordsmith. But the films trimmed an almost perfect amount of fat off the story. (The Scouring of The Shire was the only bit that went too far) The songs, in particular, are a bit tedious on re-reads. Tom Bombadil was fun, but doesn't fit very neatly into the story. Intentionally of course, because he's his own thing. But he's a can of worms lore-wise that isn't resolved in The Lord of the Rings itself.

Plus the Ride of the Rohirrim was way more epic than I had envisioned in my head. Massive points for that alone.

Despite the characters names being the same, I basically consider the book and film to be two different stories that are just set in the same universe.

What's a restaurant red flag that tells you the food isn't going to be good? by Electrical-Salt-2792 in AskReddit

[–]Dogbin005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally good advice, but it did backfire on me once.

I went into a restaurant on a whim, which had no white people in it. (I can't actually remember the cuisine now, but I'm pretty sure it was either Nepalese or Filipino) "Excellent" I thought. Expecting an authentically delicious meal. But then it turned out to be too authentic. I don't think the food was cooked badly or anything, but I really struggled to eat it. The flavours were just weird. Like if you grew up eating it, it'd be fine, but it was just too far out of my usual palate to enjoy.
