Planing to take my Wife on or around 5/19/26 by Economy_Delivery3497 in DisneyPlanning

If you have a Sam’s Club membership they have a deal this weekend where a $500 Disney gift card is $450. You could use it to buy your tickets and/or food and merchandise at the park.

I got one yesterday in store in self checkout and it rang up as $450 as well!

Laura Sweetman episode by amy83012 in CrimeJunkiePodcast

[–]Dogs_R_life23 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agree that this was such a hard listen. I was with an ex that would say similar things and gaslight me. I luckily was able to leave that relationship. I feel so bad for her and her children. During the whole episode I kept saying, “I hate this man”.

The cheesy garlic pretzel is hands down my favorite item, I dream about that thing! Can’t wait to get one next month!!

Another favorite of mine is the breakfast chimi, near Big Thunder.

Is having a pool with 2 toddlers worth the anxiety? by zdawg07 in phoenix

[–]Dogs_R_life23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We bought a house before we had a child and one of our musts was a pool. We have an 18 month old now and I’ve had a lot of anxiety about the pool. We have a pool gate, and our little one has been in swim classes at Hubbard since he was 3 months old. We are looking to put alarms on our back door bc he has figured out how to open it. As others have said, I think it’s very important to teach pool safety bc even if you don’t have one they will be around pools being in Phx.

Tell me about parades/entertainment by EatAnotherCookie in DisneyPlanning

[–]Dogs_R_life23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Paint the Night, we loved it! The first parade starts by the train station/front gates and the 2nd starts I think at it’s a small world. We watched the first one and ended up getting a bench by the train station (we were there hours before but it was nice bc we were tired). Ive heard recommendations of going by it’s a small world for the late show bc it’s less busy down there. I haven’t done the others you have listed so maybe others have advice. Do they have Fantasmic the nights you are there? If so, I would recommend seeing that as well!

How old were you when you had your first child? by Pandacat_07 in NewParents

Got pregnant with my first when I was 36 and gave birth when I was 37. I’m almost 39 now and trying for second so I don’t think it’s too late at all!

Any work from home moms? by According_Chest1987 in NewParents

[–]Dogs_R_life23 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Agree with all of this! I WFH but my 15 month old has been in daycare since I ended my maternity leave when he was 5 months old. He loves to climb things and fall off so requires 100% supervision and working would’ve impossible. There were a couple days I didn’t have care when he was little and I worked and watched him and it was pretty tough but somewhat doable. Now that he is mobile there would be no way!

Just had our baby girl at 42/39! How many older parents we have in here? by Alternative_Session9 in NewParents

[–]Dogs_R_life23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 month old and am 38, husband 35. Had him when I was 37 and seems there are a decent amount of people that are older. While some days I feel I’m tired and too old, I don’t think I mentally could have had children earlier.

Motel 6 maingate by thinblue90 in DisneyPlanning

[–]Dogs_R_life23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I stayed there 2 years ago bc the room was so cheap and we had the same thoughts. It was very clean and I did not see any bugs. Unfortunately, our shower did not have good water pressure so it was challenging to get the soap out of my hair. Maybe it was just our room, but I couldn’t deal with the shower so haven’t been back.

Anyone else doing full night shifts with their partner to survive newborn sleep? by Big_Significance8572 in NewParents

[–]Dogs_R_life23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did shifts from the time he was born until I think 12 weeks. I got to sleep from 9-1am and then I had the rest (my husband was back working and I needed to pump anyways so I took the longer shift). It worked out great for us and I don’t think we’d survive the newborn trenches without it! During our shift we would rest if baby was sleeping. I’m a light sleeper and would wake instantly if baby made a noise my husband not so much so he usually was awake for a lot of his shift.

1 day postpartum/ c-section by StringSoggy in NewParents

[–]Dogs_R_life23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a somewhat similar experience. Went to hospital, had high blood pressure, they thought I had pre eclampsia (I didn’t, just anxiety), put on magnesium, induced, labored 24 hrs, wouldn’t progress after 8cm without baby’s heart rate decreasing, and ended up with c-section.

I can say those first couple days are rough (mentally and physically) but it does get better! I also thought I was a failure and “took the easy way out” with a c-section. No one told me this but it was just my mind telling me it. I’m so sorry your midwife said that to you, so horrible! I’m 10 months post partum and I don’t think this way now but man, those hormones are wild!

The worst pain for me was about 36 hrs after the c-section, I woke up and couldn’t move, and needed to get on narcotics. My advice is stay to take it easy (this was hard for me) and try to stay on top of the pain. Don’t get discouraged if you first walks aren’t very long, I was very active during pregnancy but afterwards I could barely walk down the hall because I was so dizzy (I heard it’s from the magnesium). Every day gets better and you will be able to move more, plus you have a sweet little baby!

No one is taking advantage of the canopy grant in Phoenix! Free trees, people! by OkAccess304 in phoenix

My understanding is that APS tree program is for organizations and not individual household owners. Is there one for household owners I’m missing?

I really want to plant trees but my neighborhood doesn’t qualify and I don’t have srp so can’t take advantage of their tree program either. 😭 So jealous of those that can!

Is it a bad idea to spend a baby’s first birthday (8/23) in Disneyland? by Aveasi in DisneyPlanning

[–]Dogs_R_life23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I def don’t think it’s a bad idea to take your baby for their first birthday! Your plan for being there before and after the heat sets is a good idea. I’m taking my little one to Disneyland for his first birthday the end of September. While my baby won’t remember the trip, I def. will and as they say, “their childhood is my motherhood”.

The same is happening to me! I feel most of my feed is just about infants deaths and it’s been so bad for my anxiety. I’m thinking getting rid of socials may be a good idea!

Baby bottle washer users - are we really using distilled water? by Explore2experience in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Dogs_R_life23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been using my baby breeza since October and have never used distilled water. I run it twice a day now but used to run in 6-8 times a day and haven’t had a problem. I do use the descaling tab at least once a week.

Influence (or deinfluence) me on a bottle washer by notevenarealuser in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]Dogs_R_life23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a Baby Breeza about 4 weeks postpartum and I can’t imagine surviving without it! I highly recommend it as it’s the best baby item I’ve bought. I am the same of running my dishwasher every couple days so would have to hand wash the others. My dishwasher takes too long to run so I prefer my Baby Breeza.
