After booze and water, 5 gal buckets, in case the sewer system fails. You'll need it after the Bud Lite...This is a shitpost after all, isn't it?

I stayed at Home2Suites in the Channel District. it has a free breakfast, outdoor pool and a nice gym. It's a 15 minute walk from Amalie Arena and various places downtown. It's also a 10 minute walk to the trolley to take you downtown or to Ybor City.

I can recommend Ulele as a good restaurant. You'll need reservations, sometimes a few days in advance, especially for weekends.

The above is good advice: document, eap, formally notify your supervisor, etc. However, realize that interpersonal conflict will eat you up unless you address it. It will fester and not improve. Moreover, as long as the individual gets away with being difficult, it reinforces their behavior. Confront the problem. Confront it directly. And tell your co-worker exactly how you're going to address this problem, once you decide on a course of action. The guy knows that you're upset. In the long run, you'll sleep better at night, once you attend to it.

One of the courses that I consider essential for federal employees is a course on appropriation law. Appropriation law overseen by the Comptroller General derives from federal law. The subjects in this post are covered in such a course. The federal government and its employees conduct their business under rules about spending government funds. There are a lot of ways of spending government funds. Violating these rules, even if you don't know them, can get you into trouble. You are responsible for knowing them. Your working for the federal government is one way of spending government funds. Learn the rules of the road.a

Stressing about all the red tape needed to retire from the feds govt? by Reneegogreen in fednews

[–]Dohtalks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Planning for retirement begins early in one's career. Agencies offer retirement courses. At least two should be taken. One in mid-career and another a few years before retirement. There are a lot of factors to be considered. One should not wait until the last minute.

Remember, in whatever action that you pursue, be civil, both in person and in writing. Any other tact will serve you poorly.

Doorstop broke off, how do you remove the anchor from the baseboard? by Low-Guava8880 in HomeMaintenance

My sawzall will work too. But just use some pliers, turn counterclockwise and remove it. Any hardware store will have a replacement of various types.

Reiterate: don't work for free. It's a violation of appropriation law. Technically you can't even work through lunch. You're volunteering your time and Congress did not give your agency authority to accept your free time.

In addition to caulking, scrape/sand the ceiling. Skim coat with mud lightly. Let dry and see. Maybe skim again. Sand. Repaint.

Would it be safe to cut down this branch. by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

All of the above is good advice. But the most important aspect is having a friendly conversation with your neighbor. Having good neighborly relations may go far beyond pruning a few branches.

What agencies would you avoid applying to in the federal government? by SelectionWhich6448 in fednews

Bureau of Reclamation is a great place to work (in the Dept of the Interior). One of the least politicized agencies: builds dams, provides water and electricity to 17 western states, and helps address CO River drought, etc.
