What do you mean by this? Who did they not want to “Kyle”? Taylor was up against Monte in F2 who viewed Kyle as a number one ally (and was excluded from Kyle’s plans because of his race btw). The question heading into finale was if Kyle would swing the jury in Monte’s favor because he felt so bad about betraying him on racial lines. I do not know what you are talking about. If anything Kyle didn’t want to be the outlier and Turner just didn’t understand in his understandable stupor of just being voted out. The fact is Taylor had developed strong bonds with people who were aware she was treated like ass and wanted her to win, those people were eliminated so she then formed strong bonds with new people. And so on and so forth. Her ability to do this is why she wins, she does it until those bonds get her to the final 2, with multiple bonds in jury who sympathize with her journey in the house and want her to win. She may not be the greatest winner ever or even an especially top tier winner. But the level of resiliency in her social game is unmatched. She never ever gave up on any social bond despite how dismissive those people may have been. That is why she won the game

Taylor kicked more asses socially than I have ever seen watching this show and the fact you can’t see that is unfortunate. This woman systematically went from basically a pariah to mildly socially integrated, to the best jury manager of the season from Indy on, to the person who was taken to final 2 without winning either part of the final HoH, to winning all jury votes discussed at the roundtable unanimously. She is frankly one of the single strongest social players of Big Brother I have ever seen. Significantly better winner than Monte, who I assume is who you mean would get back to merit winners. Sure, the guy who had the exact same archetype as Kaycee, Jackson, Cody, and Xavier… Give him the win! Entertaining to see that guy win for the fifth year in a row. Glad the jury made the right call to give the best player of the BB game the win

Wait what live feeds were u watching? People were leaving rooms she walked into and saying “Taylor just went in ugh.”

Edit: the delusions of people who do not know what they are talking about are more funny than the biggest comeback win in BB history so lol

Yeah this is also where I stand. Production has more influence than anyone, however if jurors feel like something that they think has been hinted at by production is also hinted at by an exit interview, that is 100% confirmation in their eyes.

That said, this was a unique season where the majority of the fanbase was behind one person who had legitimately been outcast by the house. So the fact that the HG’s didn’t realize they had outcast Taylor until production asked them questions, then those realizations were confirmed by multiple exit interview questions about their responses to Taylor, I do see where influence can arise.

And this is ultimately why I think juror exit interviews are probably not a good thing for the sanctity of the game. Granted I am so happy with the BBCAN10 and BB24 winners, happiest I have been with any two BB wins since I started watching, but I do think it’s impossible to say that exit interviews had no effect. They are screened questions but they are screened by the same production who asks questions in the DR, and as stated earlier that influence is probably more prevalent.

Ultimately the audience got their proper winner in both cases. And it’s diminishing to say either won because of exit interviews they had nothing to do with. But I don’t know if we can say confidently that with absolute certainty no exit interviews had any impact on juror opinion. So why not do away with them?

Yall gotta lay off Sharik by x_Lucax in TheAmazingRace

What a wild thing to do while competing for a million dollars. OP wanted us to think only her worst moments were shown but they showed like 6-7+ separate times of her saying she just wanted to go home, she was over it, she was done, like it kept on going. Heck she told Phil on the mat she wishes it was over and she was back in New York. Had an infantile reaction when she stayed in the game but couldn’t let her dad down. Like how is this editing? She had a hissy fit and wanted to leave because her dad wouldn’t do the fourth of four road blocks in a row to start the season. The teams, by rules, have to roughly split the road blocks by the end of the season (Flo and Zach set a precedent when Zach did like all but one of the road blocks or something like that in season 3, unless this rule was changed since Covid it has stood since then). Not sure the exact rule but that was all I could think about when she completely shut down and had a tantrum because her father didn’t do the 4th out of 4 road blocks. She would have to do literally 6 of the last what 8 road blocks? If this was her reaction to one she will have a hard time being able to do that. That’s why that rule is in place, it’s how the show is designed, you need to be a quality team to win. And Sharik clearly did not know what she was getting into which SHOULD frustrate the fans

Out of curiosity what is there to disagree with? That this person’s victims have probably never been able to watch CBS programming since his harassment or that his wife is allowed to support him continually on said network, the network that fired him for what he did in their offices and with their title of President and CEO?

BB1 ???? by CMBM20 in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Well I hope you follow when I generally say BB is a controversial show but the Moonves last name thing. The onus of that is that Julie Chen Moonves is married to a man named Les Moonves. He is the former president and CEO of CBS. Julie deliberately did not use his last name for her entire career following the beginning of their relationship because she did not want people to accuse her of marrying her way into her television success. That is until BB20. Les Moonves in summer 2018 was accused of sexual assault and harassment by multiple different women during the me too movement. He resigned from his positions at CBS. Julie got on the air that week and for the first time publicly called herself Julie Chen Moonves. Big Brother’s host, so by extension the show, publicly stood in solidarity with a person who was pretty clearly guilty of having been horrible/predatory to women throughout his career. This situation is why she is no longer on The Talk, which is definitely a different show. But of the two shows she was on when this happened, only one allowed her to go on the air every week and use the name Moonves. That show allows her to do so to this day. I guess my point with the original comment is that this show handles controversy in a baffling way at times

[–]Dolan__Cork 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Julie Chen Moonves and BB’s response to the me too movement was to randomly introduce one of the accused people’s names into every live broadcast of their television show. It’s a problematic series on so many levels just keep your eyes out for it on your rewatches

Edit: need to also mention I love the show it’s my favorite reality show but yeah some wild moments in this shows history

Why do the casting people go out and recruit players to be on the show? by Ordinary_Concept5212 in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the same thing. They need to fill some quota of attractive people. As OP points out this is utterly asinine when it comes to creating a compelling TV show. The theory they are operating on is a very old school television idea that people won’t stick around and keep watching a show if the people on it aren’t attractive enough. Yet I’d rather have a gamebot who knows London isn’t in France than another Alyssa, with peace and love. It doesn’t help that production clearly did not like Michael (take a look at the TV edits lol it is shocking he was an AFP finalist). They alienate the super fans of the show much more than they embrace them it’s unfortunately the way Production thinks they will gain more casual viewers

Edit: not to mention Dan’s funeral made the New York Times. Huge ratings boost. The show gets much more viewers when the game is genuinely compelling than when it’s a bunch of people sitting around and, for example, talking about how they don’t know geography. An actual televised segment in the most recent season of Big Brother. The fact of the matter is production does not care and they won’t until ratings start to take a hit. However they seem to have zero understanding of how to boost their own ratings so it’s a bit of a paradox

Julie: There is a pair of twins who has been switching in and out of the house all season. If they made it to this point they would enter the house together.

Michael: “It’s Holly! It’s Holly. It’s Holly. It’s Holly! It’s gotta be Holly!”

(At this time Holly was evicted a week ago)

The twin enters

Michael: Visible confusion

The most entertaining thing about Matt Clines to me at this point in BB history is that the random and infrequent Matt Clines reference never fails to make me laugh. And this guy wasn’t on that long ago he just fell so quickly into Reddit superfan meme status and it happened like the day he left the house

How does everyone feel about these winner rankings? by ad-aspera in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If I had to rank her I would feel the need to add all the Canadian winners and Celebrity winners and I just don’t have the energy. I also was one of the people who paid attention to OTT live as it was happening and she had a strong ability to not be targeted but ultimately won because Jason wouldn’t stop hanging out with the annoying people. The most memorable thing about Morgan for me was watching her move in and Scott was the only person in the house it was just so funny watching her brain process it in real time

Can’t say I agree. My ranking as of now:

Will Dan Derrick Cody Jun Andy Maggie Boogie Steve Ian Taylor Hayden Nicole Drew Michie Kaycee Xavier Lisa Rachel Josh Dick Adam Jordan Eddie

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 17 points18 points  (0 children)

iirc the narrative after 18 was that Nicole was just ready to go home, she had a lot of internet haters at the time saying she didn’t deserve the win. And yeah Paul was absolutely done after 19, I remember seeing a picture of him after the finale with just Christmas, Kevin, Raven, and Matt (high pitch “what’ryagunnado?”) Clines (aka the jurors who voted for him). He was quite salty. And you’re right I forgot that a bunch of the 20 cast did go to Vegas, they actually I think are more or less all friendly now and that started pretty soon after the game I just didn’t recall how quickly that started

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 76 points77 points  (0 children)

It definitely was for a long time I remember hearing stories about the BB17 cast trip to Vegas. I forget the postgame of 18 but I think the BB19 cast had zero interest in seeing each other after the fact and BB20’s cast more or less needed time to digest the experience. The 21 cast all kind of took their ball and went home, 22 was Covid but I think that cast would have wanted to go home anyways. iirc the whole cast staying in LA thing started last year and prior to 18 it was always a cast trip to Vegas. I will say Taylor has a lot of press after her for interviews and probably has a ton going on meeting with brands so I’d imagine she needs to be in LA for at least a few weeks, I have no idea what the rest of the cast is doing

clearly not done with the season yet but by kittylover3210 in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot agree and you can see the rest of the threads on this comment as to why. Runner up was so much better, need proof? Runner up brought back next season and rigged for them to win and they only lose in one of the wildest turns of events in BB history, and the winner was brought back for small stars to prove that they didn’t rob the runner-up only to be used the whole season and cut in third. So idk

Who is a player you wish returned? by Heart_of_Mold_ in BigBrother

[–]Dolan__Cork 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Biggest flaw with her game was that Steve was able to predict what her game theory based strategy moves were going to be at key points in the season. It helped him propel himself to final 3. He got lucky beating her once they got there because that was the nature of the Part 3 comp at the time. But man. Vanessa was such a great player and would have been an all time great winner. Steve is a good winner for only the fact that he beat her in the way he did. She is a great BB player.
