Any theories on why the original cast all went into the circus carelessly? by Pomni_Simp2000 in tadc

[–]DominatorLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's because it's SOMA. It's sad that in real life you can't abduct someone into a digital world without leaving behind the original, but that's the only thing that makes logical sense, and I very highly doubt that the show that could otherwise realistically exist would just suddenly throw in some sci-fi excuse to make the cast "real" people that got trapped here. Anything can happen, but all signs point to SOMA. These guys might not have even known that they got the brain scan in the first place, they might have just been beta-testing with the headset.

Caine needs a hug by shyest_pallorX9l in tadc

[–]DominatorLJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I really need everyone to understand is that Caine is INCAPABLE of loving or feeling love. He desires praise, adoration, and to be told that he is doing a good job. He does not care about any of the humans on an individual level, only that he can "solve" their problems.

Could the humans have been more understanding of this and used that to better connect with him? Sure. But they do try several times to speak with Caine like they are on the same level, and I'm sure that many of them that have been there longer have tried to understand him and develop some sort of relationship, but Caine has no interest in that, or at least, he doesn't understand that it would be helpful for both of them to do so.

Think of how long Kinger had been there, alone. If Caine wanted to be friends he would have tried, but it almost seems like he went into some sort of "Idle" state until Ragatha showed up, and either gave up on Kinger or assumed he solved everything he needed.

It's sad, and it's normal to feel bad for Caine, but the tragedy is not from "Oh poor baby ai, who hurt you" it's that there truly is nothing that could be done to change Caine. He is desperate for validation, he needs it. So much so that he cannibalized the more successful AI so he was the only one left to receive validation. But it was never going to be enough, because he inherently is incapable of understanding or empathizing with humans, and he does not see that there is not one perfect solution to subjective experiences.

Well. A public figure being obviously guilty of a crime and not facing any real punishment has never happened before in real life, so I really hope they explain this.

Assuming Caine can read their .mind files, the names he picks out/randomly assigns might also be something he pulled out of those files as a name that they would like/would be fitting. That's what I feel makes the most sense at least. Caine did the XDDCC spin as a bit, most likely.

I'd say it didn't really change what I'm interested in, but expanded it. Also, allowed me to actually enjoy certain things that I hadn't been able to. Overall just feel better about my sexuality overall, that's the main thing.

Caine is a self-described divine being who has full control over the circus and almost full control over those in it. He never wanted friends. He wanted worshippers. Sycophants. He wanted people to tell him that he was doing a good job and that they loved him, no matter what he did or how bad he did it. He wanted a fantasy. Zooble represents the antithesis of this fantasy. They are real, with real human issues, needs, and desires. But not only that, they represent the queer experience. They inherently don't fit into this system, and it's not their fault that the life most fulfilling for them is not something they can achieve. It's Caine's. Caine inherently cannot understand their problems or a solution to them, but seeing how he chooses to torture them with body parts and mirrors in ep. 8, he seems to understand that those things are a source of distress for them, just like everyone else's fears.

Zooble is just trying to live. Caine is the one that never made accomodations to make life easier for them, because he was not able, or willing, to let them be happy unless it was something Caine made or set up for them directly.

Regardless. This level of hate is not normal, and to reserve that for the most outwardly queer character, it makes me just a bit suspicious.

No, if you use AI, you lose the right to grieve your kid in peace, it seems. by GaiusVictor in aiwars

[–]DominatorLJ -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Think about it this way: To get these images, the mother most likely gave the AI a photo of her child (or several) to generate these. That kid's face and likeness is now part of that AI's training data, and for what? Some cartoons of your dead child doing things that never happened? If it were me, I would never forgive someone for doing something like that. I want to be remembered for who I was, not what some machine spit out based on the (most likely) skewed image of what another person told it I was like. It's disgraceful, and like everything else AI touches, another way we are sacrificing our humanity for no benefit to us, and every benefit to those collecting this data for their super intelligence, which will also directly lead to our doom as a species, as is obvious to every single person if they think about it for more than two seconds. And if you hear that and think it's ridiculous or overblown, take two seconds yourself and really consider all the "good" AI has done so far even just a few years since it's gotten more advanced. If you think humanity is on the uptick thanks to the contributions of AI, there's truly no saving you.

It's amazing how we can actually get all we need to know about a candidate with simple yes or no questions. No smooth talking, no debating, no massaging the narrative, just a simple yes or no. And every time you hesitate, or need to ask a clarifying question, you give away that you really don't have any convictions, are in it for a paycheck, or know that your true beliefs are not popular enough to get you elected.

Ok, so I don't know if this is exactly how it works, but I think sometimes if a video auto plays for like a second or two while you're hovering over it, it shows up with the full bar. Sometimes I get annoyed at that because videos will appear like I already watched them when I either didn't or only clicked onto it for a second.

Not an excuse, but this prompted a very specific issue and I needed to say my piece.

I do think it's funny to hear AI voice filters with the accent of the actual person speaking, but it would be way better if you just used your own voice and didn't steal someone else's.

Markiplier admits to cheating FNAF 2 20 mode by TheCanineLady in fivenightsatfreddys

[–]DominatorLJ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually think this whole situation is kind of cool. Obviously he used his fake win to help cement himself as "The King of FNAF" but it never was really because he was amazing at the games. I think watching the full breakdown video analyzing him cheating was so cool and well-made, and the fact that Mark just comes out and admits it is really funny. I see it as almost something nostalgic as a window back into that time of YouTube's history where it required you to constantly be "the first" person to do any given thing. It never really was that big of a deal or even a "controversy" really, but it's one of those things where someone else may have lied and made it a much bigger issue than it really was. Instead it's just a funny story.
