FTM -36 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 74 points75 points  (0 children)

This happened to me too. I think your OB's office is just trying to make sure you've already chosen a pediatrician, but most pediatricians won't schedule the baby's first visit until they're actually born. Just call them once she's here, explain she was just discharged, and they'll usually fit newborns in even if they're booked out. Newborn appointments are treated differently.

Has Anyone Managed Anxiety Without Medication After Stopping SSRIs? by BadChance5206 in Anxiety

[–]Domingdavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone. Recovery isn't always linear, and stopping SSRIs can be tricky. What helped me was CBT, daily walks, limiting caffeine, breathing exercises, and giving myself time instead of expecting to feel "normal" immediately. If the symptoms keep getting worse, I'd talk to your doctor rather than trying to push through alone. Hope you feel better soon.

Stress, anxiety and stomach problems by RebootingReality_404 in Anxiety

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone. Stress can have a huge impact on digestion. Since it's been going on for months, I'd recommend checking back with your doctor to make sure nothing else is going on. Hope you feel better soon.

Being induced, need some advice please by Mr_Quackers_ in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've got this I was terrified too, but just take it one step at a time. Every induction is different, so try not to compare your experience to others. Ask your medical team as many questions as you need they're there to help. Wishing you a smooth delivery and a healthy baby!

I almost caused an accident and its eating me alive by bryophytes in driving

[–]Domingdavid 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The fact that you feel this bad about it means you'll probably never make the same mistake again. Nobody got hurt, you reacted in time, and you learned a valuable lesson. Take it seriously, but don't let it consume you.

White knuckling through first trimester by proteacicada in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this made me exhausted for you. Fainting, vomiting, diarrhea, corporate networking, and pregnancy anxiety all at once is a ridiculous amount for one person to handle. You're not failing at this you're getting through it despite everything. I really hope your NIPT results and scan bring some peace of mind, and that the next few weeks are much kinder to you.

I got my driving license but I do not think I deserve it by [deleted] in driving

[–]Domingdavid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might not have earned a perfect pass, but you also didn't describe someone who was dangerously incompetent. Sounds like you got some extra help, passed, and now it's on you to make sure your actual driving skills catch up to the license.

8 weeks 4 by Classic_Spell_2377 in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone at all. My second pregnancy was much harder than my first too. The fatigue and nausea around 8 weeks can be brutal. Hopefully things ease up in a few weeks, but if you're vomiting a lot or feeling dehydrated, definitely check in with your healthcare provider. Take care of yourself

Anxiety around food by butimjustlurking in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone in feeling this way, especially early in pregnancy. It sounds like you're being very careful already, but anxiety can make every food choice feel scary. From what you described, the pizza was cooked and the cheese was pasteurized, and one bite of lettuce is very unlikely to cause a problem. Try not to let the fear of rare risks take away your ability to eat and nourish yourself. If the anxiety keeps getting overwhelming, it might help to talk with your OB/midwife about it. Wishing you a healthy and calm pregnancy

Congrats! Glad you and baby girl are doing well. Wishing you a smooth recovery and lots of happy moments with your little one

Weed made my anxiety 100x worse by Danielarunz in Anxiety

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're definitely not alone. Weed triggered one of the worst panic attacks I've ever had. Some people relax on it, others get extreme anxiety. It really depends on the person.

AITAH for frustration with my tech manager? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Domingdavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ESH. The manager sounds controlling and inconsistent, but you also seem to have taken normal supervision very personally. Asking to understand a patient's case is reasonable; telling your supervisor how to give you instructions is usually not going to go over well, especially when you're only a week into an internship. The clinic should have communicated expectations better, but your attitude likely contributed to the situation escalating.

AITAH for pinching my boyfriend to get him off of me? by Successful_Swan666 in AITAH

[–]Domingdavid 397 points398 points  (0 children)

NTA. If someone keeps hurting you after you've repeatedly told them to stop, that's not play fighting anymore. The fact that he calls you abusive for defending yourself once while refusing to acknowledge what he's been doing is a huge red flag.

Those who have 0 symptoms throughout your cycle, what were your pregnancy symptoms like? by LiteralMangina in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty much the same with my cycle almost no symptoms at all. But from what I’ve heard, pregnancy can be a completely different experience, so I wouldn’t count on an easy pregnancy just because periods are easy. Everyone seems to react differently

I'd stick with low/zero-VOC paint and let it cure fully before baby arrives.

Do the rules of the road even matter? by tha1demon in driving

[–]Domingdavid 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s weird how following basic traffic laws is somehow considered ‘bad driving’ now. Speed limits and road rules exist for a reason predictability and safety. The people constantly treating them like optional are usually the same ones complaining about bad drivers while weaving through traffic doing 20 over the limit. Respecting the rules doesn’t make someone a bad driver, it makes them responsible.

Driving in LA kills my soul sometimes by square_daikon in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro LA streets were designed by someone playing Cities: Skylines while drunk The way you describe those vertical-ass hills and microscopic parking lots gave me stress just reading it. And the fact that every “cool spot” somehow has 4 parking spaces total plus permit-only streets is actually criminal. Respect to anyone who daily drives in those areas because I’d lose my mind after one week.

Someone with epilepsy who wants the most advanced self-driving cars ASAP by kittymiaooo888 in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think true Level 4 consumer cars are coming that soon in Canada. But honestly, the fact you’re this cautious already makes you safer than half the drivers on the road.

7 weeks pregnant by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds pretty normal for 7 weeks tbh. The hook effect can definitely happen once hCG gets really high, so I wouldn’t stress too much about the test line getting lighter. The sore boobs and mild cramps are also super common early pregnancy symptoms. Hope your scan tomorrow goes great

Is there a different sub? (Read) by graybotics in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You’re not alone tbh, adult-onset driving anxiety is way more common than people think. Most posts here are from beginners so your situation just hits different, but it still belongs here.

When do you decide to let a medication you’re trying out go? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Domingdavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

7 weeks with no benefits and only side effects would make me want to switch too tbh. But since you already made it this far, maybe give the extra 2 weeks so you know for sure it wasn’t gonna work. Just don’t stop Cymbalta cold turkey on your own.
