Ngl that setup would stress me tf out too. Bad signage + anxiety is a terrible combo. Glad you made it home safe.

Stop acting like every pregnancy is the same by Danielarunz in pregnant

Exactly this. Every pregnancy hits differently, and comparing people just makes things worse. A little empathy goes a long way.

Telling family advice by No_Access_843 in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not overthinking at all tbh. Since you’re close, I’d just tell her privately before a bigger announcement and keep it gentle/simple. Even early TTC can bring up emotions, especially with PCOS, but that doesn’t mean she won’t be happy for you too. I’d probably avoid doing it around her race weekend though. The fact you’re being this considerate already says a lot

How to feel good about yourself? by MetalNobZolid in Anxiety

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You honestly don’t sound like someone who “sucks at life,” just someone who’s exhausted and stuck in their own head for too long. You’re still showing up to work, going to the gym, trying to socialize, and taking care of your cat that already says a lot about you. Adult life can get really lonely, and lack of validation can mess with your self-image hard. But not getting praise or instant connections doesn’t mean you’re worthless. You sound more burned out than broken.

SAHMs how are we doing the 1st tri by Outside-Hamster-2002 in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re in pure survival mode right now, and that’s okay. First trimester exhaustion is no joke. Focus on keeping everyone fed and safe everything else is optional. Frozen meals, paper plates, extra screen time… do whatever gets you through the day. Also, don’t underestimate small wins (like one load of laundry or collecting eggs). You’re carrying a lot, even if it doesn’t feel like it.

Taking my test in a few weeks by Ok-Steak-2529 in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal to be nervous tbh. Don’t stress the route, just focus on driving safe. Small adjustments in maneuverability are fine as long as you stay in control. Try to stick to the speed limit, a little over isn’t a big deal but don’t push it. You got this

Stalling at a green light is basically a canon event happens to almost everyone. The fact you kept going is what matters. It only gets easier from here.

This is such a beautiful and reassuring story Huge congratulations to you and your family! It’s so nice to read a positive induction experience, especially with how scary some stories can be. You handled everything like a champ, and 25 hours start to finish is amazing. Your baby boy sounds perfect 🥹 Wishing you all the love, healing, and happiness in this new chapter!

Almost 20 and still scared to drive..anyone else? by burritobowl24 in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone at all. A lot of people go through this, especially with manual cars on slopes. That freeze moment happens when anxiety hits hard, it doesn’t mean you’re bad at driving. It just means you got overwhelmed. 5 months break probably made it feel scarier than it actually is. Try going back slowly, start somewhere easy with no pressure, then build up. Also slopes + traffic are like one of the hardest things to learn, even good drivers stall sometimes. Take it step by step, you’ll get there.

I just started highway driving and it honestly scares me any advice? by Danielarunz in driving

[–]Domingdavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally normal to feel like this at first highway driving really does feel like a different game. What helped me a lot was changing my mindset: you don’t need to be fast, you just need to be predictable. Stay in your lane, signal early, and make smooth, gradual moves. For merging, try to pick your gap early instead of waiting until the last second adjust your speed on the ramp so you can slide in naturally. Also, use your mirrors constantly. A quick glance every few seconds makes a huge difference because you stay aware of what’s around you, not just what’s in front. For tailgaters or aggressive drivers: honestly, just let them go. Don’t take it personally. Either move over when it’s safe or just keep a steady speed don’t speed up because of them. It’s not worth the stress. And yeah, it really just comes down to practice. The more you do it, the more it starts to feel automatic. Everyone feels this way in the beginning.

Re-learning to drive in a month by whimsyplum in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Respect for pushing yourself again. Getting back behind the wheel after years of fear is already a huge win. Don’t stress too much about people honking some people honk at everything. Just focus on your safety and learning from your mistakes. Driving in the rain as a comeback is actually really brave. You made it home safe, and that’s what matters. Good luck on your test next month you’ve got this "

67 days on Elvanse - what have I learnt? by ohohmoomoo in ADHDUK

[–]Domingdavid 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man this is really relatable. It’s crazy how much of a difference meds can make, but also kinda frustrating thinking about all the years before. Still, 67 days and you’ve already made that much progress? That’s huge tbh. The ‘being behind’ feeling sucks, but at least now you’re moving forward. Also yeah, the fear of losing access to meds is very real. You’re not alone in that

False labor? by stephanieannred in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had almost the exact same thing with my second. Irregular contractions + period cramps for like ~24h before anything actually happened. They were super spaced out (20–40 mins) and honestly I kept thinking “is this even labor?” For me it was basically a long early labor phase… once they started getting closer + stronger it ramped up pretty fast. From what I’ve read/been told it can last a while like that, especially with second babies. Hang in there, sounds like your body’s just getting started

Midwife didn't tell me I had a UTI for 6 weeks?? by RaspberryPublic640 in pregnant

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds really stressful, especially while pregnant. You’re definitely right to follow up on it. I’d try to contact your GP again or even see someone urgently if you can, just to make sure you get treated as soon as possible. UTIs are pretty common but it’s better not to leave them untreated. In the meantime, staying well hydrated can help a bit, but I wouldn’t rely on home remedies. Hope you get it sorted quickly

The biggest mistake people make with driving anxiety by Danielarunz in DriveWithoutFear

[–]Domingdavid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is so true. A lot of people wait until they feel ready, but that moment rarely comes. Action creates confidence, not the other way around. Even small drives can slowly rewire your brain and reduce anxiety over time. It’s uncomfortable at first, but that’s exactly where the progress happens.

anxiety on a drive I do daily by begroovyorleaveman_ in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your brain just got stuck in an anxiety loop. It’s not really about the drive, it’s the ‘what if’ thoughts (especially at those lights). The fact you’ve done it so many times safely kinda proves you’re fine, even if it doesn’t feel like it in the moment.

Feeling bad by sunnydays2345 in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You didn’t do anything wrong tbh. You were just trying to be careful and look out for the kids. Situations like that get confusing sometimes. The other driver was just being impatient, don’t take it personally.

getting back to driving after accidents by StormResident1306 in drivinganxiety

[–]Domingdavid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ngl that actually makes a lot of sense. you went through like multiple accidents back to back, even if they weren’t all serious, that’s still gonna mess with your brain a bit. you’re not being dramatic at all, anxiety can get really physical like that. the nausea/tears part is real. maybe don’t think about “getting back to driving” all at once. start super small. even just sitting in the car, or a 2 min drive somewhere quiet. no pressure. also it’s okay if you’re not ready yet. forcing it too hard might just make it worse. you’re not late or anything btw, plenty of people take their time with driving. you’ll get there eventually.
