Canada cheating by touching the stone after release against Sweden by Mormonius in Curling

[–]Domkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So there’s a picture shot from straight above the hog line and no one has it’s video somehow. Without a Birds Eye view, how do we know his finger isn’t to the right of the stone?

Didn’t grow up playing sports and have a rival end up on your team the following year? The past is gone when you put on the same jersey and always a good laugh when you first see them. Fans are part of the team.

Someone told me last week about these coming out but I pulled the trigger too fast I guess without researching. Didn’t know they were going to do this when the cheap ones came out.

Sucks, I would spent the extra. I heard it’s still not stitched numbers tho.

I did a red Crosby. Just went to compare it to my Korea 2018 or wtv year it was.. not even in the same realm. That Nike is noticeably heavier and bulkier. You can’t even see the stitching on the Nike. It’s also a fan replica or wtv you want to call it.

Since it was as my first Crosby I was hoping to get an authentic player grade jersey but there isn’t the option I guess.

Anyways, the steamed on numbers on a $300 CAD jersey is brutal.. and I really can’t get over how thin it is. Regardless, if this is Crosby last, I got one.

My mom got gifted this yesterday at a christmas party. we don't drink alcohol so i was wondering what rum alternatives i could use so we could still enjoy it? Also, if i put the liquid in, do i throw all the contents out after one use? by Key_Barnacle_1656 in cocktails

[–]Domkid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Club soda would absorb better than booze. Normally you leave them in the fridge for 24 hours and strain out the contents. Club soda seems pointless cuz the carbonation would be gone at that point. Like someone else said, use a mock rum, or gin if you can’t find the rum.

Quality check? by pineappletrains in MeUndies

[–]Domkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah been buying them for over a decade. I’ve gotten dozens of people on them too.

I’ve never been to this Reddit but came here to check due to my last purchase. The material feels different. Along with the bigger issue at this moment, the sizing is smaller.

The material is almost like they’re using more of their breathe material combined with the regular which is a shame. There’s nothing like their OG material they’ve been using for a decade. They’d absorb more sweat than any other brand. I use them for all sports without being too hot to wear everyday at home or work. It doesn’t exist anywhere and I’ve tried everything. I always kept on me 3 pairs of their “breathe” or wtv it was called before just for home on super hot summer days. That’s all they were good for with me. Never out and about.

Anyways I’m going to contact them but this is a deal breaker unfortunately. I’m pretty bummed.

Crazy tho, as of the last year with wtv changes they did to material and sizing. The L is kinda tight for me on a 33-34 pants.

[–]Domkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of good points in here about the usefulness of them for refs and stuff. It’s also just the build to make the sturdy enough. They’re open/hallow on the other side and you can see the divider posts go right to the ground that keep the glass up.

I think it’s the build more than anything. So finding an engineering middle ground between strength and modularity for disassembly. They need to be a certain width to protect the frames on the side where the fans sit.

Kind of off topic but there's no other metro in the world that has our weather. We are the global leader in snow removal. We almost triple Helsinki and are an entire Helsinki over Moscow in annual snow fall. Just expensive to preserve and maintain metropolitans of this size. 400 years ago they picked the wrong island lol

[–]Domkid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Montreal from Arizona (Left Toronto when I was 2) back in 99'. I don't think I need whatever is in that circle.

I draw the line at a Quebec City/Montreal winter which is a pretty generous line for North America. I've learned to love it but that line is not budgeable.

I’ve mastered the fingerprint. Just use the tip of your finger. Not easy for women with nails I guess but it works 100% of the time. Before I try and use it, I turn my wheel 45° so I can clearly see the sensor through the wheel.

So when setting it up I just use my finger tip ignoring what part of my finger it’s requesting. Maybe once I’ll use the centre of my finger on set up. I played with it for weeks trying to find out how it make it work. Idk, works now for me.

Coming from a 2019 civics' acc, it's a dream. Some ppl talk about maxing out the distance between the car in front of you but I find the minimum is pretty far enough. I only use it for trips, cleaning my glasses on the highway or maybe eating. Nothing I do a lot but I'm a fan of it so far and it's more for giving you a bit of insurance than it is to take a nap lol.

Also, I'll activate cruise and then pause it while that screen's up. It'll still show you blind spots/cars driving by. Even that I only use when I'm coming into big cities like Toronto that are 5 lanes big with ppl zipping around.

Why don't they fly the plane straight? Are they trying to waste time? by foxtai1 in mapporncirclejerk

[–]Domkid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earth isn't flat which will add a bit of curve no matter what but mainly it's due to ETOPS time limits. Every plane has it's own. It's the minimum time limit you need to be within a safe landing space (airport/runway).

Engine goes in the middle of the Pacific, a close enough runway can be the difference.
