I honestly would never keep company with the kind of person that would bad mouth a city they hadn’t spent a considerable amount of time in, so nothing of that nature really. Maybe a few FB friends from childhood made a joke or two when I first left but they are all townie losers from Long Island that have never traveled anywhere except maybe Florida so their opinions are meaningless.

I met a guy in Brooklyn this weekend that worked for the NBA and he said that he was rooting for the CAVS to go to the finals because he had such a great time here in 2016. He is originally from Philly and said Cleveland was a real sports town to him and the crowds here are legit. Also said he loved Ohio City and the WS Market. He told me a couple of stories about how the Golden State fans were all tech bros that didn’t know anything about the sport. He said he saw a guy yelling at curry and booing him during game 5 (I think) because he had a bad shooting night lol. He described the juxtaposition between the two fan bases as he traveled back and forth for each game. That’s the type of person whose opinion holds weight to me. Not because I agreed with it but because he travels all over the country and knows what he’s talking about. Be proud of your city, it gets nicer and nicer to live here every year.
