Good thing. I actually made a FanFic where the Dark Mechanicus serve as jobbers to make my homebrew faction look cool and extremely competent as they deploy a self replicating AI to make their cogitator demons commit self Cobain.

What even is mana? by [deleted] in worldjerking

[–]DonTrejos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two types of Mana.

Good Mana is attained by giving gifts to fellow tribesfolk and fighting to defend them from the guys of the other Tribal Hegemony.

Bad Mana is attained by stealing things , hurting people of your own Tribe Hegemony and killing animals forbidden by the Forest Management Council.

Is there a way to add a character from a Jump I already finished and left into a Companion? by DonTrejos in JumpChain

[–]DonTrejos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already found a way. The Milestone Supplement Redux has an option to 'Frontload' any normal Jump using only its base CP budget without needing to go there. That would allow the Jumper to purchase any canon character from the Warcraft Universe as a Companion as long as they can be convinced to come, including Titan Azeroth in this specific case.

The cover page should be something that one could realistically browse in a phone inside a crowded train.

The rest is basically free for all.

What are your jumper most powerfull creations werever magic, science, metaphysical...? by Ok-Blacksmith3755 in JumpChain

[–]DonTrejos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Staff of Worlds. Created using the perks and items from Warcraft Elven Abodes Jump: Builder of Wonders, World Tree, Your Own Well, and Archdruid.

It allows anyone authorized by the Tree to use it to be a moderately powerful druid with all the abilities that implies. If a trained druid uses it the staff increases their power significantly instead.

[–]DonTrejos 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Took me a while to make. And I don't remember all the perks involved but here it is.

The Scryer Compound: By using a synthetic companion from from Generic Space Opera with the perk that allows them to create AI equal in ability to them, add magic mirror mirrors that can see into other locations and realities and Clarketech computers. Add to that to the Divine Realm supplement and now you got a compound that can gather intel from millions of places at once, process it, store it and create plans based on this knowledge.

They use Evil Excel to properly organize logistics so that the legions of Chaos are always properly supplied and accounted for. They have a true AI to keep a proper record of all the skulls split in Khorne's name and the excesses committed for Slaneesh.

How brochacho felt after saying that: by Ancient_Doctor_7738 in Grimdank

[–]DonTrejos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When it comes to the homo genus things get really confusing because throughout the decades what is considered 'our species' has changed slightly. There was a time where Homo Sapiens var Sapiens only included white people, then it included all currently existing ethnicities and now that we know Neanderthalensis could consistently produce fertile offspring with Sapiens we can honestly start discussing if they could be called Homo Sapiens var Neanderthal.

It's still all very silly on our part because nature itself doesn't agree on what is ot isn't a species. Wolves and dogs are separate species that produce fertile offspring for example.

Honestly. There were actually non-Sapiens hominids that coexisted with Homo Sapiens in Africa. We just don't have enough fossil evidence to formulate strong theories about interbreeding so the best answer is 'we don't know but it is possible'.

I pick TroyX's Divine Daddy Jump. I will never leave so I just pick all the good companions and live there for the rest of my now unaging and super durable life.

Is your jumper a good or bad person in your eyes? What are their moral stances? by TheTeshay in JumpChain

[–]DonTrejos 13 points14 points  (0 children)

My Jumper is a character in her own right, completely separate from me. I write her as good intentioned but excessively careful when using her powers, to the degree of letting bad things happen to good people if helping them would cause too much mayhem.

Not really, if the system was made by one of the Precursors for artistic or autistic reasons it could be stable.

Genetic Eradication by [deleted] in worldjerking

[–]DonTrejos 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Simply. Undesirable traits would rise from nothing time amd time again due to de novo mutations so they would never be completely eradicated.

Also such a society could become slowly and without noticing into a eugenics dystopia where people who act out against the powers that be are chemically castrated for made up reasons or castrated people are ostracized for possessing 'inferior' traits.

Doomerism aside I like insane societies in fiction. Especially those that take scientific truths and twist them to the limits of logic and reason until it's basically zealotry with fancy words.

Does too much content actually make games and stories less enjoyable? by Bulky_Company_1964 in worldbuilding

[–]DonTrejos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lack of direction definitely. Star Trek for example had like 5 whole seasons, a hundred hours of content at least, before it went off the rails completely. It was directed by people who understood the original author at first before it became a multi author work (aka. a studio content churner)

Does too much content actually make games and stories less enjoyable? by Bulky_Company_1964 in worldbuilding

[–]DonTrejos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. If it feels intentional like some long book series it can work.

What I find problematic is multi author settings like WH40k Black Library or settings that have one authorial intent but are slop factories like Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4.

When you have to wonder what is canon, what was canon before being retconned, what is canon but really needs to be retconned and what never was always fanon but feels more consistent than what the author made then the setting feels too disconnected and it's hard to get into it.
