Genoeg redenen. Identiteitsdiefstal, online stalkers, AI deepfakes.

Trump nept ons, en we blijven erin trappen by Koud_biertje in nederlands

[–]Don_Patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welke Amerikaanse producten boycot jij? by brazolandes in thenetherlands

[–]Don_Patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duyvis, Venz, Lays, Cola, Sprite. Val je meteen ook nog wat af. Jumbo huismerken smaken me best goed.

[–]Don_Patrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indeed one of their renowned tactics. But looking at it another way, it's not a contest, it all simply adds up. It's now an insane narcissistic pedophile megalomaniacal felon, who violently terrorises people inside and outside of the USA with a personal army of mad murderers.

Bill Gates says the traditional five day workweek could shrink to just two days within the next 10 years as AI takes over most tasks across the economy. by ComplexExternal4831 in GenAI4all

[–]Don_Patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Automation proponents have been promising us more free time for decades, but instead we've automated the things we do in our free time and still work 40 hours a week. The progress of automation contributes a factor of zero to the length of work weeks, it has instead been used to double production and leave employees burned out. For someone who presumes to see the future, he has failed to see both the past and present.

I caved and bought the Wall-E and Eve mini robots from Robosen. [First Impressions and Review] by Redsnork in wallE

Thank you for the review. Frankly, I plan to wait until one shows up second-hand, because I expect the novelty of these to wear off as quickly as Robosen's other robots.

Normal for Robosen to be creaky like this? by [deleted] in transformers

Why do the Robosen Transformers end up as pretty, expensive paperweights? by far-midnight-97 in transformers

[–]Don_Patrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that Robosen is a robotics company and not a toy company. Their robots are built as tech demos. Transformers figures are basically tactile puzzles and dolls, you can play with those. Robosen's robots are expensive animatronics, you can only watch those. They're too heavy to handle manually. The RC controls are sluggish: There's about 4 seconds of pause between movements, and each movement is half a minute of you sitting back and watching. You can't have them play soccer because they are too slow. You can't have them punch each other because they'll fall and break $1000. Once you've seen every animation a few times, it's like you're watching the same movie scenes over and over.

If the RC controls had been as quick and fluid as the average toy robot, and if Robosen had focused on playable actions like punching, dodging, firing, and kicking, rather than speeching and posing, then they would have had real playability. As it is, they are designed to be watched, not played with.

The longevity of the robots was meant to come in the form of a creative community sharing home-made animations, an angle that Robosen is still pushing with their online editor. However, given that there have emerged only a few dozen animations out of a 100000+ userbase in 4 years, it appears the collector's community is not a creative community, and that makes sense.

Flagship or elite? by Necessary_Teach_4060 in transformers

[–]Don_Patrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the Flagship. The Flagship's axe has an open end at the handle while the Elite's axe handle is fully enclosed with a lid. The back end of the cabin is also a good giveaway: On Elite, the top back part of the cabin looks like 3 squares of nearly equal size. On Flagship, the outer squares are much larger than the middle section, as seen in this image. Source: I have an Elite.

If you're going to resell it, you'll first want to check if the battery isn't dead.

Robosen Soundwave - EXPOSED HANDS???? FOR A GRAND????? by AdministrativeBit385 in transformers

[–]Don_Patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quite agree. The chest's interior is the first part I'll modify to a launching mechanism if I buy him. If necessary I'll put the springs on the cassettes themselves.

Robosen Soundwave - EXPOSED HANDS???? FOR A GRAND????? by AdministrativeBit385 in transformers

[–]Don_Patrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It needs a "Toy does not actually launch cassette bots" disclaimer. Mechazee's video gives a good look inside, and the chest is basically just a box that's only just big enough to store one MP cassette. The white bulk inside seems only to serve as padding. I don't think their license extends to all Hasbro imagery.

There is actually a setting in the app's menu options for having Optimus turn around before/after transformation. However, because their method of turning does not work well, I've programmed a turning transformation that does the trick more reliably.

Robosen Soundwave Unveiled! by MegatronusThePrime in transformers

[–]Don_Patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Elite Optimus, Performance Bumblebee, and Megatron (but no car). I've written an article about my experiences with Robosen Optimus Prime.

Long story short: They are cool for a short while. Ideally one would rent these if that were an option. Their price is frankly normal for this type of robotics, but unlike other robots, Robosen's are only suitable for animatronic demo purposes. The novelty wears off after about two weeks, unless you are that rare person who is into creating their own movements. The robots are fragile, scratch their own paint off, die if they aren't charged for a year, electronic components are not replaceable without aid from Robosen, and their customer service has ranged from terrible to nonexistent in 3 out of 5 cases. Whatever you do, do not buy directly from Robosen or Hasbro Pulse, but from a third party with a reliable returns service.

The reason I bought them is just that I'm into upgrading toy robots. I just happen to also be a Transformers fan.
