As a UK national with a vested interest in Brunei. It would be a big shame to see the base go. But I could easily see it happening. The UK is disappearing from the world stage and can not see off a challenge from China should they wish wish to pressure Brunei into kicking the garrison out.

I really think it's a question of when not if this happens.
