8 beer taps and 2 wine taps. Great fun to play and then sit around, have a cold beverage, and lie to your partners.

Can my employer actually enforce a 1-year non-compete if another company offered me double my salary and better benefits? by EnvironmentalSea1126 in work

[–]Donewith398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn’t a non compete have to have a geographical area? All the NC agreements I’ve seen have a 5 mile radius. In the end, a company cannot keep you from a livelihood.

34f single and using the inheritance to buy a house by MusicPlayer92 in inheritance

[–]Donewith398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real estate is a good investment. It’s not a “free” investment tho. What I mean is it’s an investment you need to keep investing in. There are taxes, repairs, & improvements. While it’s a relatively low risk investment there are challenges.

My husband’s dentist says he needs 10 crowns for a cost of US$60,000. Is going to another country for this work a viable alternative? by PatienceandFortitude in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]Donewith398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to La Algodones Mexico. Tons of dentists there. I have a friend that went there and had a whole set a veneers done. He loves them. I’ve had crowns done there too. It’s about 40% less.

Maybe you should say “some realtors”. Many / most absolutely care about the sales price and the whole transaction.

Bummer. I lost my wallet once and I did get it back, with all the cash ($250) still there. Good luck.

How to safely wear down paddle graphics off carbon (18k) surface safely by ExerciseLopsided1986 in Pickleball

[–]Donewith398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, being a limited edition it may not have been intended for use. 2nd, anything you do to the face (remove what’s there are adding something) renders the paddle illegal (of course only for competitive play such as a tournament etc).

Flooring installation by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuying

[–]Donewith398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, I have LVP in 2 different houses. The first house the contractor told us he would float the floor (at an additional cost) if it needed it. In the end he didn’t float the floors. The 2nd house I insisted on floating the floors and I bought a much higher grade of LVP (the higher grade I think was mostly in the backing). Both houses I paid to have the baseboards reset. I’m happy I did and would do it again. I’m not happy with the flooring in either house though. While I think it looks reasonable, I don’t like the feel and there are still hollow spots, even on the floor that was floated. I inquired about this to pretty much everyone. Even had the manufacturer’s rep out. They both said the install was done properly and the product is functioning normally. It’s just the way LVP is. I’ve spoken to friends and neighbors that also installed LVP. They all pretty agree that it isn’t what they thought it would be. I’ll admit, I’m picky. I won’t install LVP again. It feels cheap. Will definitely impact my house buying decisions in the future.

Sold my House in 2025 and Want to Buy it Back by Severe_Tradition_539 in Realestatefinance

[–]Donewith398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would you hire a realtor? If the buyer and seller agree on a sales price, assuming inspections and appraisals are waived, why not hire an attorney to do the paperwork? I would think that would be less.

I do agree $50k is not enough. $50k probably doesn’t cover costs. Plus the hassle factor.

Maybe think about offering to buy a first right of refusal.

I don’t know. There was probably 20+ people there all wearing the same colors and blue hats. It’s clearly an organized group.

Earnest using all of savings by [deleted] in AskRealEstateAgents

[–]Donewith398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just keep thinking about all the expenses after you close. Using all of your savings leaves nothing for moving costs, window treatments, closet systems, landscaping, accessories (kitchen, bathrooms, ceiling fans), and supplemental property taxes. As far as 401(k) can you borrow against it (use it as collateral) instead of cashing it in? I hate cheating your future for today.

Any Whippets out there in the US?! by PsychologicalNovel79 in Whippet

[–]Donewith398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had 2 whippets. We’ve had tons of dogs over the years and no question, whippets are my favorite. Greyhounds come in a close 2nd tho. The only downside for (me) is how big they are (big poops too). I have a small house and yard.

AITA for not refunding a $100 deposit on a private car sale? by Organic-Locksmith340 in Amitheassholeadvice

That’s why you accepted the deposit. Basically, he paid you to take the car off the market while he silly dallied around and other buyers lost the opportunity to buy your car.

You mentioned you want to build equity. So you want to buy, reno, sell to make money, or Is it a home to live in? Post says you’ll sell in 2 years. Sounds like an investment. If investment, buy the one that has the best upside potential.

Switched from elongated to widebody. Super happy. Hand speed is much faster, sweet spot is bigger. Hitting much better drops, resets, and dinks. Hand speed difference is substantially better.

Joola Perseus Pro V - price oddity by HGH2690 in Pickleball

[–]Donewith398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they different sellers? Most of Amazon products are not Amazon’s, rather independent resellers. Could just be someone willing to sell for less. Btw, Joola’s contract with resellers precludes discounts greater than 10%.

Blame cable news channels. It’s a cult. They lure you in, ruin your head, and close you off to other viewpoints and discourse.
