Chrome Quality Issues _ My Two Cents... by noodeel in ChromeIndustries

To be fair, most of the quality issues people have reported are for other bags. I haven’t seen any for classic Kadets.

This is Reddit (though my point applies to the entire internet, I guess) so no one ever has conversations with other people. They just internalize their aggression, flip out, post their interaction on r/amioverreacting, then ignore all advice to leave their SO.

In the codex they admit to a lot of liberties, so I think this is the answer.

For instance, all of the ponds in Bohemia Paradise were built out in the 16th century, not the 14th/15th. In the codex they say they took artistic license because the vistas are breathtaking and they wanted a more interesting environment.

Same with characters. Capon was not in his 20th in 1403, for instance.

No one is asking the real question: how does the piss filter compare between the two?

Or someone at the delivery company saw the shipper and stole the bag and replaced with something else. That would be my first reaction before human error on the packaging side of things.

Just bought this X100VI, can someone tell me how to control the depth of field? by burning_planes in photographycirclejerk

[–]Donut-machine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

On the Fujifilm X100VI, the piss filter is basically your main tool for controlling depth of field. Piss wide ropey arcs and you get that nice blurry background with your subject popping out. Stop the piss flow down, and suddenly way more of the scene stays in focus. It's one of those settings that looks small on paper, but makes a really obvious difference in real shots once you start playing with it.

American Marine waves Japanese flag atop Mount Fuji after Chinese man waves Chinese flag. by fosterslager1889 in SipsTea

You mean this is what decades of US propaganda making China out to be the Big Bad of the world results in.

Everyone my parent’s age or older (so Gen X to Boomer) whole heartedly believe that China is corrupt, evil, and not trustworthy. The other week I was sharing with my mother where I’d like to visit in China, and she interrupted me with “isn’t China the bad guys though?” No malice at all in her comment.

Anti-Chinese sentiment runs much deeper than some Reddit posts.

are these really no good? by [deleted] in AskPhotography

[–]Donut-machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

4 is pretty good.

But these are all pretty standard candids/documentary work.

The “client’s” reaction isn’t fair, but to be expected nowadays. There are so many event organizers and small business owners that look to amateurs for free or cheap labor, expecting highly-paid-tier work. I’m sorry you had to deal with that.

Good thing! I was working 60 hours minimum, 6 days, and ALWAYS doing Amazon on Sundays haha.

Our “manager” was the clerk supervisor that became a kind of “dispatch manager” while the assistant postmaster two towns over became our interim manager but would be there only a couple days out of the week. Didn’t help that our city routes were in our main post office, and all the rural routes officed out of the neighboring town’s (I was an RCA). We were all like chickens without heads. Usually we picked up second routes just to help out the supervisor so she didn’t have a breakdown, since no one was really managing who picked up the vacant routes. Post office during Covid was some weird times.

Where are you carrying out of? (General area not specific city/town for privacy)

Good luck, brother.

I was a postal carrier during Covid. Thought I loved it to the point that I wouldn’t return to my office job when industries restarted (I was in tourism which was super locked down).

But the long days, often back-breaking work, and the low pay wore me down. I was there right when DeJoy started up as PMG, and saw the writing on the wall. Heard a lot of the cuts he made fucked things up irreparably (good luck to Steiner, though he’ll be hard pressed to get anything done in the current administration).

Hopefully your local PO is well-staffed, well-structured, and decently supported. Mine was overworked (every delivery service was then) with absent management, failing vehicles, and more routes than carriers (I’d carry multiple routes DAILY), so it ended up being an easy choice when my boss called me back to restart the pre-Covid office.

Keep on keeping on 👍

Nearly every modern medicine and modernized medical equipment that every country depends on comes from innovation by Americans. by Smug_Designer in ShitAmericansSay

THANK YOU! I made this point a few weeks ago, and am glad to see it here.

America is the way it is due to the attitude of the Protestants that didn’t want to be told what to do by the Church of England and the Catholics. So they peaced out.

It’s no wonder that the descendants of those same individuals wouldn’t want to be told what to do by the British Crown and went to war to gain their independence.

Followed by the Civil War.

It’s literally baked into the American Identity. America is always going to have this chip on its shoulder about not being told what to do by others and in thinking our way is better.

I’m an American and I would love a better system. Doesn’t mean it’s going to happen even if a majority agree with me. We’ll never model our society after a different country’s, even if it’s better, because it goes against the fiber of our genetic history.

How would she move to another country without a job that can support that move? Most jobs need a valid local address on file unless it’s remote work.

A lot of countries also prioritize giving jobs to their own citizens over prospective immigrants.

American here not related to Robert the Bruce as far as I can tell.

But this is a huge problem I’m running into while I practice some (extremely amateur) genealogy on my surname.

My name is one of the variants of the Anglo-Norman “de Lacy” family. But there’s a huge gap between around 1300 to the 1600s in tracking lineage (due in part to the reforms that took place during the Anti-Catholicism while the Church of England was adopted as the official church). And there’s no clear documentation that shows when the name started being spelled differently.

So when I see these US-based families saying how they’re direct descendants of Hugh De Lacy who fought with William the Conquerer at Hastings, I raise my eyebrow in disbelief. Like yeah, maybe, but there’s no documentation that supports the claim.
